A Dexter confermo che si chiama Manta Point proprio perchè è una stazione di pulizia frequentata giornalmente dalle mante per farsi togliere i parassiti dai pesci pulitori che vivono nella zona .Il giorno che ci sono stato l'acqua era discretamente limpida ed il sasso era frequentato da 4-5 mante che si alternavano alla pulizia .Quando l'acqua è più torbida ( presenza di plancton) generalmente ci sono dalle 8 alle 12 mante.

A Dexter confirm which is called Manta Point just because it is a cleaning station frequented daily from manta rays to get cleaner fish to remove parasites from living in the area. On the day I was there the water was fairly clear and the stone was attended by 4-5 mantas alternated cleaning. When the water is turbid (plankton) usually there are 8 to 12 manta rays.

mi ha incuriosito questo animale, perciò mi sono documentato. paurosa la sua stazza perchè pare che arrivi finoa 6,5 mt di grandezza per un peso di circa 1,5 t. ma quando lo hai visto arrivare, oltre a scattare la foto, cosa hai provato? tantissimo complimenti per questo meritatissimo riconoscimento.ciao roberto

per Roberto Marini : Roberto l'emozione di nuotare vicino ad un grande animale è sempre fortissima , l'esemplare in questione aveva una apertura " alare" tra 3,5 e 4 metri , vederlo volteggiare sopra ed intorno a me per molti minuti mi ha dato delle sensazioni indescrivibili( un incontro ravvicinato di questo tipo per me era la prima volta),pensa che ci sono stati alcuni momenti che , nonostante il fisheye montato sulla macchina, il soggetto non entrava nel mirino , infatti togliendo la faccia dallo scafandro mi sono accorto di avere la manta a meno di 40 cm .Se ti va di vedere altre mie foto di manta vai a questo link: www.pbase.com/sharkphoto/manta_ray
