Subjects :Wadi Dissah is an amazing canyon in the northwest of Saudi Arabia: sandstone walls hundreds of meters high, palm trees, water flowing on the bottom, and trails that are easy to explore on foot. An ideal place for landscape photography, natural details and contrasts between rock, greenery and light.
Recommended equipment :In this case I preferred to use only the 14/24 and the 24/70 for greater convenience. Having more time available, even the 100/400 would have been useful for photographing the myriad birds found in the oases within this spectacular Wadi.
Best months :This mountainous area should not be extremely hot like the rest of the country in summer but still, I recommend visiting in winter with more pleasant temperatures also to be able to walk on foot.
How to get there :About 3.5 hours drive from Al Ula and about 2.5 from Tabuk. If you have a night to spend in this area, several very simple but welcoming structures are being created in Al Dissah.
Visits :Admission to the Wadi is free (2025) but a 4x4 car is recommended. Alternatively, there are several local tours that take you inside leaving plenty of time for photos and walking and walking.
