Subjects :A dirt road on the edge of the desert of Utah, the small and little-known valley of the Gods is in all respects the youngest sister of the greatest Monument valley, but it is not to be considered less beautiful, indeed, the very fact of being less known It will give the possibility to be in the midst of this beautiful and harsh landscape often and willingly in absolute solitude transporting us back (or forward?) in time... A pearl not to be missed absolutely!
Recommended equipment :Purely landscape, with large rock formations (pinnacles, Mesa and Butte, classics of the Red Desert of Utah) surely with the wide angles you will have fun more I can not; All the attractions are reachable thanks to a dirt road so for those who want to try even with the details or with longer focal nothing prohibits the attempt that, by force of things, will offer spectacular patterns... A small playground within everyone's reach, just get the right car!
Best months :Visited both in the middle of summer and in the middle of winter, we pass from the scorching heat of the desert to the icy cold of a flat area and quite wind-blown; The attractions are almost everywhere so in any season and part of the day you can enjoy excellent visuals; Being all a large unmaintained dirt road is quite full of holes, so personally I would not recommend it to "normal" machines (always faced with off-road) and especially not during the rain or with wet bottom!
How to get there :Just after the infamous descent of the "Moki Dugway" on the UT-261 turn left following the signs for the "Valley of the Gods Road" (Here there is also the only structure, preferably to book well in advance if open during the period); The dirt road continues until you get out on the spectacular UT-163 Scenic.La Most useful city in the surroundings is definitely Mexican Hat, nearby there is also Bluff.
Visits :There are no entrance fees and there are no visiting hours, the park is wild and free at the obvious price of trying to keep it at least as good as when you entered (alias, the Trash keep it in the car)!
Notes :The place is a little paradise of beauty, it is useless to remember that if we can taste it is because those who have passed before was a good visitor; We make sure to be in our turn and not to ruin the places where we go... It is not an official park and so it is not maintained, there is no one who passes to do housekeeping, there are no souvenir shops or public baths and there is not even the bar to enter, it is a dirt road in the middle of spectacular rock formations so everyone gets to P Roprio Risk and Danger!
