Subjects : Tsavo West is part of the the park of Tsavo, and is divided from the east by the road from Nairobi to Mombasa. Best months : Great time is August, but September and October. As at altitudes ranging from 500 to 1,500 m. does not suffer too much of the scorching heat of the dry season (December to March). How to get there : Very easy. from Nairobi or Mombasa just take the main road through Kenya and connecting the two cities. The entrances to the park are along the same.

Visits : As in all the parks of Kenya is allowed round from sunrise to sunset. The entrance fee is 40 USD per day (subject to change).

Notes : Tsavo West I tried to run for three days without ever meeting another car. We were in silence to observe a pair of lions for a whole morning without ever another tourist or photographer approached. If you want the real Africa, this is the place.
