Subjects : Scenic drive through forests, mountain plateaus and valleys. Ranca is a popular overnight stop for those who want to spend more days exploring the region. The road is paved and in good condition but it's closed during the winter due to the topography. There are many great trails for hiking in Parang Mountains from Transalpina.

Recommended equipment : Any photo equipment would do. At a minimum a standard zoom range lens but ultra wide or telephoto would provide additional interesting perspectives.

Best months : It is usually open between June and October.

How to get there : Transalpina is also known as national road 67C, is the highest altitude road in Romania having the highest point in Urdele Pass at 2,145 m.

Visits : There are no tolls nor other fees to access the road.
