Subjects : The most beautiful long spreading landscapes I have ever seen. Various rocks romantically reflecting the sunlight, especially in the morning and during the sunsets. Fantastic colors of trees in the Autumn with yellow larches. Waterfalls, brooklets, creeks. Caves. Breathtaking views on lakes and mountains; rare species of birds; wild forests with endemic rare plants like arolla and various dwarf mountain pine. Heavy rains, moving clouds, tunders. The bears are difficult to note, but they do live there.

Recommended equipment : mainly: wide and super wide angle lenses, light tripod or monopod; the best material: velvia 50, velvia 100 or high quality FF bodies.

Best months : July, August, September

How to get there : By train to Tatranska Strba, from there take the small train to Strbske Pleso, to Smokovec or to Tatranska Lomnica. The better hotels are rather expensive, the modest- are available for all. The number of tourists is small.

Visits : Entrance to the Tatra National Park is free of charge, but the park is open only from June 15th to September 15.
