How to get there : Easy to reach the north side of the river, following the ring-road n°1 57 km from Egilsstadi in the direction of Akureyri you cross the detour to the road 923, after about 25 km you will find on the left a large parking lot with tourist directions. But the most photographically interesting part is located south of the river, which can be reached by going back on the 923 for about 8/10 km, until you spot a farm with a large and crowded parking lot, from where a walkable or cilcabile path of about 5 kilometers starts where you reach the river again.

Visits : The place is free and not fenced, being in the middle of nature there are no time problems.
