Subjects : Within an small region on the northwest coast of Ireland....mountains such as Benbulben, Knocknarea, Ox Mountains; lakes such as Lough Gill, Easkey Lough, loads of varied coastline and beaches such as Strandhill, Rosses Point, Enniscrone... landscapes which inspired the poet WB Yeats who resided here, surfing, historical architecture such as Sligo Abbey, Lisadell House.. many pubs, live music, hikes and trails, golf, horse riding, some picturesque villages like Mullaghmore.
Recommended equipment : nothing in particular but waterproof bag would be recommended.
Best months : May - October
How to get there : Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Air Italia to Dublin Airport, and from there a train from Connolly Station to Sligo, or drive/bus on the M4 (which becomes the N4) to Sligo.
Visits : Model Arts Centre, Sligo Abbey have small fees for entrance.
Notes : Italian skin not survive Irish winter - only visit in summer!
