Subjects : High mountains in southern Spain. Due to the altitude (3.481 mts) there is snow from November to May, what makes possible a big ski area in sunny Andalusia. It is not a kind of small ski resort where you some years may ski or not; it is a 110kms of slopes resort, beginning from 2.100mts up to 3.275 mts, the maximum altitude reached by the lifts. At the same time, the rest of Sierra Nevada is a national park. From top you have fantastic views of Andalusia, the Mediterraneum, and Africa in the distance.

Recommended equipment : If you go skiing or mountainering in winter, you should take very good equipment. It is not Alaska, but temperatures are below zero. In the summer temperatures are quite nice, not too hot or cold.

Best months : From December to April, when there is plenty of snow, is a good time for landscapes. The summer is better to take photos of animals and plants.

How to get there : The closest city is Granada. But you can reach it from Malaga in 1'5 hours or from Seville in 2'5 hours too, driving on motorways, except the last 30 kms. There is a bus from Granada that reaches the ski resort.
