Subjects :Within the private reserve of Rancho Humo you can observe different types of birds according to the seasons: Knights of Italy, Ramphocelus Sanguinolentus, Ibis, kingfishers, many types of Egrette, Caracara, budgies, green herons, herons Crowned Nocturnal blacks, many types of hawks, ducks, pink spatulas, storks, Jabirú. In short, an infinity of species for all tastes.
Recommended equipment :Good telephoto lenses. For lovers of birdwatching, good telescopes. Bring even a 70-300, sometimes the birds are really close!
Best months :All year round, depending on the season you will see different species of birds.
How to get there :It is not easily reachable, it is immersed in a nature reserve and far away from every big city. We chose to go there on purpose as we saw that this Hotel possessed a wildlife reserve called Humedale and it is absolutely worth it. I recommend it to all the birdwatchers. It is about 4 hours drive from San José.
Visits :Having stayed inside the hotel the entrance was free day and night with no time limit.
