Subjects :Medieval village set along a hill, developed vertically in fan offers good opportunities both the overview photo and the photos of the alleys. At the top the church in Romanesque style with a history of 1000 years. The surrounding landscape and hills offer additional opportunities. A path in about half an hour leads to the valley floor of an ancient mill "Mulino del Grillo" immersed in the woods used as a refuge by a local association of which it remains the main structure. In front of an ancient ruined stone bridge crosses the Pescia stream.
Recommended equipment :All focal points can be well exploited. It also lends itself to the photo at night under artificial lights, in which case the tripod is useful.
Best months :Opportunities at any time of the year. Almost uninhabited in the cold months, but the human presence is significant only in the summer period.
How to get there :You can reach from Pescia, a town famous for the cultivation of Flowers in the province of Pistoia, following the signs for Pontito and "le dieci castella" along the road of the Val di Torbola. Narrow road, but completely paved only in case of winter snowfall there may be road problems. The parking possibilities are in Piazza Lazzaro Papi (follow centro signs) or at the Church, One stands at the bottom of the village the other at the top. For the rest, the village can only be visited on foot.
