Rank : 10.0 (average on 1 votes)

Coordinates : -30.6044667,115.1606484 (Open in Google Maps)

Subjects : A land "alien" in which the trees are petrified: therefore, the main subject is they, the petrified trees! The landscapes created by these monoliths fossils are remarkable, especially sunrises and sunsets (but just a thread of sunshine with a few clouds to create light perfect). But you can also find some specimens of local wildlife if you are lucky!

Recommended equipment : Wide angle to shoot all the beauty of the site, a medium zoom to make some close or some blurry noteworthy. The tripod is needed if interest sunrise or sunset shots of course.

Best months : All year: it is a semi-desert area, the weather is never cold during the day. The temperature drops at night and then in the morning or in the evening the weather will not be so hospitable covering but there are absolutely no problems. Make sure you avoid even rare rains that occur there.

How to get there : Car rental from Perth in a long ride up the West Coast, along the Indian Ocean Drive, or on the contrary from Exmouth or further north, to go down. You can even turn into the wilderness of the pinnacles in the car, there is the track specially created. There are also buses that travel from Perth to this location, but the drive is absolutely advisable.

Visits : free admission, or otherwise organized tours.
