Coordinates : 45.41847112464145, 9.232392488079185 (Open in Google Maps)

Subjects : Rich and varied presence of amphibians, reptiles and birds, rabbits and foxes. In spring there is the possibility to photograph wildflowers and insects and butterflies. In the park there is both a small lake and a humid forest with settling tanks where various species of birds stop. There is also the San Bernardo farmhouse, abandoned, which offers shelter to a pair of kestrels and a colony of cats. The park is therefore ideal for nature photos.

Recommended equipment : Generally, a focal length of at least 300mm is required, however to photograph more distant birds you need 400mm or more. For photographing flowers and/or insects, a macro lens with a tripod is recommended.

Best months : The best times are spring for fauna and flora and autumn mainly for fauna.

How to get there : There are three main entrances: Via Ripamonti, Via San Dionigi, Via Sant'Arialdo. To get to the Vettabbia Park by car, the park has a public parking lot with about 95 parking spaces near the corner of Via San Dionigi and Via Sant'Arialdo. You can reach the area by following Via Ripamonti from the center of Milan in a southerly direction towards the Abbey of Chiaravalle. It is a relatively quiet area, however in the busiest periods, weekend afternoons, parking spaces can fill up: arriving earlier or using public transport may be more convenient. On the other hand, following the signs for the Nosedo purification plant, there is a free car park at the entrance to the purification plant. There is also the possibility of using public transport, the yellow metro line getting off at Porto di Mare and then a walk of about 10 minutes.
