Subjects : The most nice and impressive subject is the windmill of course. It is located within the public garden along the Contrescarpe river channel where in the ancient times were the defense walls around the historical city.
The windmill is surrounded by a flowery meadow whose flowers may differ from spring to summer. From March to June the grass is populated by lavenders and daisies while in summer by poppies.
In the nearby of the mill, the river channel with its ducks and birds offers the chance to make very amazing pictures. The best overview is from the bridge of Herdentor.
Recommended equipment : If you would like to take a picture from the bridge, especially early in the morning (dawn and sunrise are just behind the mill) then the tripode is needed.
Best months : The whole year, but the best time would be end of October in the middle of the Autumn season, the golden and red trees are so amazing.
In winter season sometimes you can have the snow.
How to get there : From the main railway station of Bremen the mill is easy reachable by walk in less than 10 minutes or if you are too lazy then you can take the tramways #4, #6 or #8 toward the city center and get out at the stop Herdentor.
Visits : Entrance free of charge, inside the windmill there is a small café where to eat some tasty apple cake or drink a beer.
