Views and Iconic PointsThe Giant Swing: Located in a breathtaking panoramic point (reachable by a circular path from Pian Camuno), it offers an incomparable view that sweeps as far as Lake Iseo (Sebino). It's the perfect place for "social" shots or compositions with a human element looking at infinity. Belvedere Dosso Beccherie: One of the most loved spots by photographers. On a clear day, the horizon is filled with snow-capped peaks and the view of the surrounding valleys seems endless. Peaks and ridges: Monte Corniolo and the ridges towards the Muffetto offer spectacular views of the Lombard Prealps. In winter, the ski slopes (such as the "Panoramica" slope) become excellent vantage points.2. Nature and LandscapeThe Lake-Mountain Contrast: The peculiarity of Montecampione is its proximity to Lake Iseo. You can capture the deep blue of the lake framed by snow-capped (or blooming in summer) peaks. Woods and Reflections: The surrounding pine forests and the small lake of Montecampione (at 1200m) offer excellent ideas for nature and macro photography (alpine flowers, ice details). Sport: If you love action photography, the ski slopes in winter or the MTB trails in summer offer dynamism and bright colors.
Recommended equipment :Wide Angle Lens (e.g. 16-35mm): Essential for great views from Dosso Beccherie or to include the giant swing and the lake in a single shot. Telephoto lens (e.g. 70-200mm): Useful for "crushing" the perspective of distant mountains or for isolating details of ridges and rocks (such as the Dogwood massif). Standard Lens (e.g. 24-70mm): If you want to carry only one "all-rounder" lens, this is the best choice for versatility.
Best months :1. Autumn (October - early November): The FoliageIt is considered by many to be the best time ever. Why: The deciduous forests and larches that dot the slopes turn orange, gold and red. Opportunity: The contrast between the warm colors of the vegetation and the intense blue of Lake Iseo in the background creates an incredible chromatic depth. Light: The sun is lower on the horizon, casting long shadows that better define the volumes of mountain ridges.2. Midwinter (January - February): White MinimalismWhy: When snow covers everything, the landscape becomes graphic, clean and extremely photogenic. Opportunity: The natural "ice sculptures" that form on the trees at higher altitudes (Plan 1800) are perfect subjects for macro and detail. The phenomenon: It is the most likely time to witness the "Sea of Clouds": the fog covers the Camonica Valley and the lake, leaving Montecampione like an island that sprouts above a soft white carpet illuminated by the sun.
How to get there :The car is the best means of transport for those carrying bulky photographic equipment (tripods, backpacks, lenses). From Milan/Bergamo: Take the A4 motorway towards Venice and exit at the Seriate tollbooth. Then follow the signs for Lovere/Valle Camonica along the SS42 (Tonale and Mendola highway). From Brescia: Take the SP510 (Tangenziale Sud di Brescia) towards Iseo/Valle Camonica, skirting the lake until you join the SS42.La climb: Once you arrive in Pian Camuno or Artogne, follow the signs for Montecampione. A panoramic climb of about 11-13 km (about 20 minutes of curves) awaits you that will take you first to Montecampione 1200 and then, if desired, to Plan 1800.Estimated travel times:From Milan: about 1 hour and 45 minutes (116 km). From Brescia: about 1 hour. From Bergamo: about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
