A village troglodyte halfway between Shiraz, Yazd and Kerman, Meymand has been inhabited for more than 3,000 years (some even say 10,000) and consists of 2,560 rooms within 406 caves dug into the valley walls, most of which are uninhabited.

How to get there :From Italy with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, then go on to Isfahan, Shiraz or Tehran. Then Pullman to Kerman and then to Meymand.
