Subjects : Mana pools supports a large variety of wild life, during the rains the mighty Zambezi river transforms the shoreline in a massive flood plain.As the water dries up, the river attracts many large herds of animals, in search of water.Mana pools also counts around 400 species of birds that include the very elusive: Livingstone's flycatcher, Western banded snake eagle, Rock Pratincole, Yellow spotted nicator and Lilian's love bird.
Recommended equipment : It all depends on what you are after. Anything from point and shoot to a dslr with a 300mm lens or bigger.
Best months : From december to april it rains and the roads are impossible, but this amazing place is constantly teaming with wild life specially along the river down at the flood plain.From may to november nothing stops you from driving down to the Zambezi valley and capturing amazing photographs of the wild life and scenery.
How to get there : At around 400km north of harare, you have to drive in mana pools. Once there there is a few options for accommodation (a few private camps, national park self catering houses or camp site.)
