Subjects : Elephant, hippopotamus, crocodile, many species of kingfishers and other birds and mammals. In my travels I have seen the rare owlet Pels, and we could see many fascinating scenes: an elephant who crossed the river to swim, hippos and many animals in action viewed from a short distance.

Recommended equipment : Tele at least 300/400mm and standard zoom or superzoom. In this case, I think the ideal addition is a 300 f/2.8 IS + a superzoom quality (eg Canon 28-300 L IS USM) for landscapes and close subjects. Needless tripod except for the photos to the field.

Best months : All year, I chose April for its mild climate (the period of the "short rains").

How to get there : You can reach the capital of Malawi by air, we will reach the park with a few hours of Jeep. As a tour operator advice greatly AfricaWildTruck (www.africawildtruck.com), an Italian couple who work in these areas very well prepared and nice!
