Subjects : You may find some ideas for landscape photos but the main attraction of the lake are the different species of birds which nest there during their migrations. Among the other species most numerous in winter, there are the great crested grebe, coot and black-headed gull.

Recommended equipment : The birds are extremely wary and difficult to be able to take home something decent without at least 500mm. For landscape photography I recommend a wide angle.

Best months : From autumn to spring, you can see a concentration of birds like in few other places in Italy. Among them the ducks are the group largely dominant, especially mallards.

How to get there : From Turin-Milan (A4): The exit is Santhià, then continue towards Ivrea / Aosta 228 on the road for about 6 km

Visits : Being a lake the input is of course free and there are times of opening or closing.

Notes : The lake is located Viverone am 230 above sea level between the districts of Biella, Vercelli and Ivrea in moraine hills of the Serra. A special feature of this lake are the dwelling settlements dating back to prehistoric times, and allowed to rediscover ancient civilizations of this region.
