Subjects : Great view of Pelmo that seems to come out of the lake. It is also a very nice excursion as you see many peaks of our Dolomites. Climbing to the Giau fork you can see: Nuvolau, Lagazuoi, The Five Towers, Le Tofane, Three Peaks of Lavaredo, Mount Crystal. Once you arrive at the Giau Fork you can see the Baste pond with the Pelmo, but you also have a beautiful view towards Owl, Marmolada and Sella Group.

Recommended equipment : wide angle to have a wide frame of the lake with the Pelmo in the background, a medium towel to approach the Pelmo.

Best months : Definitely in late spring, summer and autumn but also in winter.

How to get there : Leave the car at the Giau Pass and then with the path near the church continue towards the Mondeval Plain. Easy-medium difficulty path. Use classic mountain precautions.
