Subjects :Khichan is a small village which is located about 6 km from the town of Phalodi. Each winter thousands of wintering bridesmaids of Numidia (Demoiselle crane, Demoiselle cranes) .All'alba cranes gather in the area where it is routinely left food by volunteers of the village - chugga Ghar (Birds feeding house) - coming in flight from the desert where spend the day notte.Durante numerous cranes stopping in at the water basins of the village, Vijaysagar lake, not far from the feeding area with the possibility to photograph them in a beautiful natural setting. Ponds are other water birds including ducks, spoonbills, grebes, kingfishers, kingfisher of Smyrna (Halcyon smyrnensis), wagtails, egrets ... The nearby town of Phalodi is very quiet and has a historic center (the lanes lead from the main road to the fort) very nice, with some old houses with painted facades, well preserved, inhabited and lively (many markets of food in the morning) but without the mess of other larger cities. It's worth getting lost in the streets and enjoy the atmosphere of bygone days of this ancient caravan city and you can rest assured that you will always find someone willing to show you the way to return

Best months :from September to March, the winter months (November to February) are the best for the climate and the number of cranes present
How to get there :Phalodi is located approximately midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner several daily buses depart from both locations, can also be easily reached from Jaisalmer (via Pokhran, several times a day), or you can then proceed to Jaisalmer.
