Subjects : In The Eye Of the Storm.... Khardungla Pass the highest civilian motorable pass of the world 18380 feet. This is the famous pass that leads on to the cold desert Nubra Valley about 11000 feet. Nubra valley is famous for its sand dunes as well double humped camel rides in the desert area.
Recommended equipment : Warm Clothes, Sunglasses with good Uv protection, Polariser, Atleast 2 stop Soft grad, wide angle lens. A telephoto lens and not to forget water bottle and Its not advisable to stop there more than 20 min.
Best months : July to September. Although pass is kept open in winters despite heavy snowfall but than I dont think its advisable to travel
How to get there : Take Taxi from Leh on shared or wholly hired basis that takes you to the pass and also to Nubra valley, Turtuk the last village on the indian side of karakoram Himalaya, Siachin base camp
Visits : The Visitors are advised to take passes from the administration to visit these areas.
