Subjects : Everything from uncrowded beaches, clean and clear rivers, waterfalls, mountains, assorted wildlife, insects, old French and English style buildings, rum distilleries that are using the same process from 150+ years ago, ruins, flowers and plants.
Recommended equipment : Whatever you have will work. A DSLR will have people thinking you are a professional.
Best months : December to April - the cooler months but all year round if you are up in the mountains.
How to get there : Via airplane from all major air terminals, by boat from Trinidad and St. Vincent. American runs a direct flight from Miami once a week. LIAT and Caribbean Airlines runs inter island flights usually daily or better from the other southern Windward Islands
Visits : There are fees to visit or to get tour guides for the National Parks, some waterfalls and the rum distilleries but most of the natural features are free if you are willing to explore and have a good map.
Notes : The people are very friendly and willing to assist where they can. Everyone speaks English (some with a heavy local accent that takes time to get used to). We felt safe at all times.
