Subjects :Etzweiler is an enormous open-air coal mine; It takes its name from the village that once stood there. The Ground takes an infinity of color sfumaure because of the various materials present in the different layers; Huge mining machinery is a quaint and unusual subject.
Recommended equipment :Mainly Telephoto and Supertele zooms; A standard zoom can be useful for overall visions, but most of the subjects are distant. I shoot with a focal equivalent to about 300mm, but I think the ideal would be a 100-400, 150-600 or other such lens.
Best months :All year long, hoping not to find haze, since the subjects are far away.
How to get there :There Are numerous points of recovery; I suggest you try them all to find the best angles. I snapped from Aussichtspunkt Tagebau Hambach (50.931801, 6.547829).
Visits :You can't get into the mine, but access to the lookout point is free and free.
