Subjects : In this place you can leave the car and then stop taking some pictures to the stars. You should be placed on the field immediately behind the observatory so that it is slightly shielded by the light coming from the plain. From there, punching along the path, just above the tree-lined hill we can find the polar star (and consequently big and small cart). We can opt for either photos with streaky stars, or try to make a star trail. Attention, as for the star tracks, you will not get a full circle , except for a fairly narrow space as the tree-lined hill prevents a certain field of sky. For those who would like to try to get that effect, I recommend going further to the summit of Monte San Primo, bearing in mind that the walk is not very short and that can cool / pull a nice wind.

Recommended equipment : For night-time photographs you must take: -Shot-Tripod-Remote Trip Button or Range Meter (or use the self-timer)

Best months : Better in winter

How to get there : From Grass go on to the lake of the Segrino, then continue towards Sormano. From the village go to Colma di Sormano or towards the Astronomical Observatory

Visits : There is no restriction for the outdoor yard and access to the footpaths. The observatory has interesting activities that are generally reported on the site.
