Coordinates : 33.855021, -4.870471 (Open in Google Maps)

Subjects : Curious village in which many dwellings are carved out of caves, which make up the main house room, and on which are then built the other rooms. As a result the lanes of the village are very winding and the houses, which in fact cover the caves, are painted in pastel shades of pink, yellow and blue. The caves are only visible if a local invites you to his home, as it may happen, but in this case you can not photograph inside. But the whole village, and the houses taken from the outside, still remain of a certain interest, both architectonic and chromatic, for the photographer.

Recommended equipment : Especially wide-angle pushed (I used a 15 on full frame) because the alleys are very narrow; A medium canvas for portraits of people and cats, the latter numerous. People are not easy to photograph but it is useful to exchange two words and to establish a relationship before asking.

Best months : All year round, but I guess in summer it's very hot. I went in January, with cold tips similar to the southern Italian ones at night and increased thermal excursion during the day.

How to get there : By private car, by taxi and by bus from Meknes or Fes. The roads are discrete and little trafficked: the guide in its own does not present difficulties.

Visits : Walking around the village and its medina is totally free.

Notes : The visit can be interesting if accompanied by a guide; It can help you to identify the points of interest and to be opened some private house; It can help you shoot people. In principle should not ask more than 30 euros for 2/3 hours, but the variability of prices and capacity is very high
