I did not underexpose the images by four or more stops and then push them since this approach does not represent real world application (at least in my world). Instead, each image is exposed correctly in camera.
Ma soltanto
I did not bother to test 1/3rd stops since these are either push or pull in camera from the standard full ISO stops – 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12,800, 25,600, 51,200 and 102,400.
E i risultati sono eccezionali!  Praticamente RAW utilizzabili fino a 25.600 ISO! ma anche quelli a 51.200 e 102.400 rimangono più che buoni!
Rifila ben 2 stop alla Mark II e diventa il nuovo benchmark per gli altri brand, alla facciazza di chi la riteneva un flop come upgrade in stile A9II, qui i miglioramenti, soprattutto lato sensore, sono ben evidenti...
Conclusions: ISO 100-3200 are essentially noiseless in real world use and require no noise reduction. ISO 6400 is still totally ok out of camera without any noise reduction of any kind. ISO 12,800 and 25,600 are exceptional by industry standards and can be made to look as good as ISO 3200 with moderate noise reduction. ISO 51,200 and 102,400 are as expected quite grainy, but still usable with more judicious noise reduction. This is remarkable performance that represents at least a 2-stop advantage over the MK2 and sets a very high benchmark for other cameras.

in un altro topic parlano di qualità d'immagine leggermente peggiore del predecessore.
Boh...
secondo me al momento non ci si capisce nulla.
Io comunque credo che abbiano fatto un gran passo avanti. vediamo.. |

E' questo uno dei motivo per cui ho sempre chiesto a gran voce uno sviluppo delle performance dei sensori su ISO e GD, piuttosto che un aumento, spesso legato solo a loggiche di marketing, dei MPX. |

It focuses faster. It just locks on faster. In using the mkII then the mkIII's with the same lens, it is a big improvement in speed.
The continuous autofocus is much better at locking on to non-moving objects and staying locked on.
It focuses very fast in poor light. This is most noticeable in the outer focus points that could sometimes struggle on the mkII to achieve focus quickly and accurately. The mkIII seems to nail focus anywhere there is a focus point.
The eye and head focusing works great, the ability to move the focus point from the back autofocus button is awesome (but it is proving difficult to break many years of muscle memory where you hit the AF point button and then go to the joystick to change your focus point.) There is also a learning curve to not moving your thumb around on the focus button if you are already at the focus point you want. |

Ringraziandoti per aver postato le prove, faccio ben presente che prove di rumore su di un sensore illuminato bene, ossia foto in alta luce, NON sono per nulla significative e rivelano profonda incompetenza di chi le fa.
Il rumore nelle fotocamere è praticamente costante, e fotografando un soggetto illuminato molto, il rapporto segnale/rumore resta sempre e comunque alto: alzando soltanto gli ISO per fare prove di rumore con foto di soggetti illuminati molto, non si misura il rumore totale della fotocamera, ma soltanto il rumore dell'amplificatore del segnale emesso dal sensore, mentre il rumore emesso dal sensore non lo misuri.
Il rumore emesso da un qualsiasi amplificatore è sempre e comunque molto basso, quello del sensore non lo vedi, e dunque la prova fatta così porta sempre a foto con basso livello di rumore, dà risultati "fenomenali", ma sono sempre risultati fortemente errati.
Le prove di rumore vanno fatte in condizioni di bassa luce vera, foto notturne, etc, ed allora il rapporto segnale /rumore si abbassa e viene fuori dunque il rumore vero emesso dal sensore, non soltanto quello emesso dall'amplificatore.
Sicuramente quelli della Canon avranno fatto un'ottimo lavoro, io ne sono sicurissimo, ma da quelle prove non lo sai. |

Seguo, ma aspetterò comunque i risultati di DPrev per fare un confronto pulito.
Ad ogni modo mi sembra davvero il minimo dopo tutti questi anni, con la stessa risoluzione, aver migliorato almeno gli iso (e anche la GD sembrerebbe) |

Questo è quello che ne pensa JACS
I measured the read noise from the masked areas of the 1DXIII files. It is crazy low - something like 0.42 in RAW values with saturation 16,384. In other words, 15.25 stops! This is not adjusted to 12mp; if you do it, you have to subtract maybe 0.5 stop or so, I am too lazy to compute it now.
In comparison, the 1DXII, which is great already, has about 1.3 noise, which translates to 13.6 stops not adjusted to 12mp.
I tried to find traces of NR. This is not easy without having a black frame. So far I see no NR.
And this is an ISO 5000 image with 100% shadow lift, everything else default in LR:

Hanno fatto un'ottima fotocamera, ottimizzando un sensore già molto buono (a bassi ISO già la 1DX II si fuma la Nikon D5 come gamma dinamica, ha oltre uno stop in più), implementando un AF completamente nuovo, video d'alto bordo, raffica da mitragliatrice, buffer infinito, etc.
Sul rumore, non deluderà, per nulla! |

Concordo con Pollastrini, indubbiamente questa 1DX III resiste meglio gli iso rispetto alla precedente. Ma questi test da sempre vengono fatti male, quel pezzo di carta dovrebbe essere fotografato appunto con scarsa luce, invece tutta quella luce toglie il rumore. Da questo test uno deduce che ad un matrimonio può tranquillamente fotografare gli sposi mentre ballano nel ristorante a 1/250 (senza flash) a 102400. Ovviamente non è cosi, gli iso accettabili saranno FOORSE 25600. |

Alessandro: hai espresso un concetto assolutamente ovvio, ma che fatica ad essere accettato! - con la pratica sul campo, si dovrebbe sapere che, puoi ottenere ottimi risultati ad alti iso e schifezze a ISO medio bassi - dipende esclusivamente da come e' illuminato il soggetto - vedere prove di tenuta iso elevate, magari con sensori aps-c e soggetto ben illuminato su sfondi scuri, magari con lettura "valutativa" (che ovviamente alza gli iso, rispetto a una "spot"), mi fa tenerezza  - quindi aspettiamo le" prove sul campo" - personalmente penso che se Canon ha investito su una reflex di quella fascia di prezzo (sono fermo alla 1d4 :fsorry :), deve avere x forza aggiunto miglioramenti tangibili.... Vedremo! |

Hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro lato sensore e spero AF. In Europa hanno esagerato con il prezzo (anche se insoliti geni diranno che è un problema di tasse rispetto agli USA) e paga l'aspettativa della R5. Ma chi vuole una reflex al top non sarà deluso. |
