I started with bird photography back in 2009. I am definitely not a professional photographer, I'm not even a good amateur, but rather a passionate hobbyist with a passion for birds. My name Pascal De Munck, my place Belgium.
Since April 2009 I try to capture on photo the beautiful moments that I experience during my trips out in nature. The start was a bit hesitant and was still not convinced that this would be my thing hence decided to start with a modest budget and I bought myself early 2009 a Canon eos450 and a sigma 150-500 mm zoom lens. Soon I had the virus of this wonderful hobby of bird photography and after 6 months I swapped my 150-500 Sigma lens for a Canon 500mm lens.
Another 6 months later I bought my Canon EOS7D camera and a 1.4 extender. Later I added also a tripod and Jobu Gimball and a stealth gear one man hide.
April 2012 I purchased the Canon eos1d Mark IV. As with so many things, practice makes perfect and that is certainly the case with bird photography. The best results come when you only have a lot of patience and perseverance. Initially I photographed mainly from the mobile bird hide (my car) but that didn't worked well and decided to focus more on hidephotography (small fixed hides in a forrest or my one man stealth gear hide). I also make ??occasionally a trip in terms of bird photography.
