Well, after firmware updates V 1.2 & V1.3, I've had nothing but problems with the IBIS. Yes, I sent my GX9 to Panasonic after 1.2 for repairs. They gutted it and refitted the inside: [BIS not working well, order main and sensor. REPLACED MAIN & IMAGE SENSOR & ADJ. FLASH NOT WORKING WILL NEED FLASH PCB. & CAPACITOR A.P. Repaired, adjusted, tested.] It worked marginally better but not quite as well as with firmware V. 1.0. So, hoping V.1.3 would help, I updated the camera. Frustratingly, the IBIS returned to the wobbly state of V. 1.2. In other words, I get better stabilization from my GM5 and the 12-60mm f3.5-56 kit lens than with the Dual IBIS of the GX9. The GX9 is a nice camera, but discouragingly, Panasonic seems quite cynical about quality control and its customers. This experience has soured me on Panasonic and I'm resigned to not buy any more Lumix stuff. |

Hello, I got a used 35-100mm f2.8 first version and wanted to test it on my GX9. I updated the lens to firmware 1.3 to have the Dual IS working. I took the occasion to update the body as well to 1.3. It looks like I can't get a sharp shot with 1/8s at 35mm, and have to go almost up to 1/30s to make sure I get decent results. I then tested the same lens on a GX800 which isn't stabilized and there was no issues at 1/8s with the lens' stabilization alone. I haven't tested other lenses yet. Did anyone have the same issue? anything I can check/try to make it work? Thanks, Patrick |
