nel caso qualcuno volesse modificare il Celestron Ultima 80 con il Baader Ortho Classic 18 mm, come consigliato da pochi siti USA, ecco la risposta Baader alla mia domanda
“ I see blue lines on target contours well before 60x, for example 40x, and this is why I asked for a better eyepiece and I thought to a fixed-magnification eyepiece to have more image quality and less blue lines, not to have more magnification that I am not interested for; in other words, I am perfectly happy with 20-30x max; in this scenario, do you think the Baader Ortho Classic 18x may be beneficial to me, considering I'll use it with a Panasonic mirror-less without lenses? „
la risposta è stata:
“ Unfortunately, the Ultima spotting scopes use achromatic lenses, so there is some CA - in the eyepiece, it is clearly visible at about 60, no matter if you use the standard eyepiece or a high-end-eyepiece. At higher magnifications, the CA will become clearer visible, no matter if you increase the distance or use a higher-power eyepiece.
I'm afraid that it won't help. I use the Ultima 80 with both the original eyepiece and an older Hyperion Zoom - I use the latter also with Schmidt-Cassegrain-telescopes with 2000mm focal length, where it can be used at high magnification without showing color aberrations.
When I use the eyepiece at the Ultima, there are clearly visible blue fringes around the Moon at 60x (I tested last year or or for the last time), so a better eyepiece can't improve the image (or at least not very much), the benefits are a larger field of view and a more comfortable viewing (no e.g. kidney-beaning).
So, I'm afraid that even the 18mm Ortho will not bring much of an improvement regarding colour aberrations - at least not enough to justify the price for eyepiece and adapter. It gives you more field of view and better viewing, but not a better image. The image quality of the Zoom eyepiece is not bad, only field of view and kidney beaning are a problem.
My tip would be selling the Ultima 80 and replacing it with the TrailSeeker 80. This spotting scopes does not only accept 1.25" eyepieces, but it also has got a much sharper image, which is not much worse than that of the much more expensive Regal spotting scopes. „
questo dimostra che l'Ultima 80 è un "cappone"
e quindi per ora resto fermo su quello che ho
seguirò il loro consiglio se mi prende il trip del digiscoping
