Arci ti assicuro che essere bravi oggi è tra le ultime cose che contano.... come credo in tutti i settori!
Molto di più amicizie, parentele, favori, "la mezza", ecc. ecc. non farmi arrivare l'ennesima lettera di un'avvocato, dai che siamo grandi e sai come funziona il mondo!
Però non diciamo che in quel video sa seguire un soggetto.
E non diciamo che fotografare la NFL è difficile tecnicamente, uno che corre al max a 35 km/h e passano un sacco di tempo fermi (come nella foto!).
E lo dice! "has worked on editorial photoshoots and lifestyle advertising campaigns" tradotto significa POSATO! FERMI!
Se deve fare una roba d 1/15 a qualcosa che ti passa quando vuole lui ai 300 Km/h con il 600 a mano libera?
O sotto un salto che non lo vedi arrivare e non sai dove passa, se non quando ti è addosso con 600 + 1,4?
Dai su... ora basta perchè la perculata è bella finchè è corta 
Mgari se lo faceva uno di questi il test....

Boh saró ignorante ma... io pianto la macchina su cavalletto, metto zona af centrale e mi girano i maroni perchè la maggior parte delle volte essendo il soggetto fuori dalla zona af non ho la foto a fuoco?  sono confuso... |

Beh questo è molto interessante!!!
This hasn't been my experience. I use the R5 with a 500L II mostly for birds and wildlife and couldn't be happier with the electronic shutter. Honestly, I'm so happy with how its working, I've yet to try any other shutter modes.

Thanks for sharing Mike. I do think it will be acceptable most of the time, but I would rather have 12 distortion free frames than blow a shot because of distortion. In all seriousness, did you shoot any birds of prey tightly framed diving from the side? I am trying to think of a scenario close to what I saw with the football. I think this would be the breaking point for the electronic shutter.

@John Gress, I'm thinking a diving peregrine or a tight and close humming bird in flight is about the camera swing or subject speed needed to see any appreciable distortion. Currently, there are no in season targets to confirm. But don't let that take away from what you found. I can 100% see the rotational speed of a football or a golf clubs' head speed causing an issue. Its just for the wildlife arena, this feature will be hard to beat.

I have shot a lot of birds in flight with the R5 using 600 f/4 IS II with 1.4x and 2x TCs. Included in this is swallow-tailed kites diving and flying fast from the sides of the frame. I have shot both Elec. and Mech. shutter and I have not noticed any rolling shutter issues. Also, I have found the AF system to be fantastic for birds and BIF. I have used just about all the AF methods from Zone to single point and the camera does an amazing job for me. With AF systems at the level they are now, I just can't complain about AF performance. I come from a time when AF did not exist and we shot some stuff called film. The R5 is an amazing tool for stills photography IMO. If in doubt, get one and try it for yourself. It is the only way to know for sure it the camera fits your style of shooting. Just FYI.

Sig nei commenti ci sono anche gli interventi di altri fotografi di sport.
Dubito che comunque chi ha aperto il post sia realmente interessato ad indagare l'efficacia dell'autofocus della R5, quanto a - diciamo - rassicurare l'altra parte.
E mi pare che ci sia riuscito!! |

@Barry please post a video with your results. I think it would hit 95% of the time on some sports, because it did great on quarterbacks throwing and people running but the vast majority of the time I shot wide receivers. It also would have probably done better if I framed it looser. I also plan on testing it with a different focus point and case. What case and focus point are you using?

I noticed yesterday when photographing someone in my studio wearing a helmet, that the camera could not find his eyes or his face, so I think face and eye detection are not going to work when it comes to football.

@John Gress SO, I took out my r5 and 1dx mark 3 to finally shoot some flag football. I owe you an apology sir. Face detect isnt really usuable during a live game. the shooting through the EVF sucks lol i eventually put down the r5 all together

Grazie Otto x il tuo intervento ma se non ti dispiace cosa faccio e perché lo faccio saranno pur sempre fatti miei non credi? Non sapevo fossi così interessato a quelle che sono le miei intenzioni e/o desideri.
Credo poi che qui dentro ci siano tantissimi utenti che di sicuro non hanno bisogno né delle mie rassicurazioni né tantomeno dei miei consigli. Se non siamo liberi di postare ciò che vogliamo, nel rispetto delle regole del forum e nel rispetto di tutti beh allora c'è forse qualcosa che mi sfugge. Io ho semplicemente postato un video che mostra o non mostra, dimostra o non dimostra, la fallibilità o l'infallibilità di 1 sistema af, nel caso specifico della r5 ma poteva essere benissimo quello della nikon, della fuji o di 1 altra Ml. Di certo non ho mai messo in dubbio le capacità fotografiche del tester. Poi se a te non piace come fotografo o come youtuber pazienza me ne farò 1 ragione ma ti prego, se e quando deciderò di affidarmi ad 1 persona x capire cosa frulla nella mia testa lo farò con qualcuno di mia personale conoscenza. Per giunta io ho usato Canon per quasi cinque anni e riconfermo che,nonostante i mirabolanti dati tecnici,nella realtà l'AF Canon è piuttosto deludente.Ovvio questo NON significa affatto che Canon al pari di altri brand non possa essere usata per certi o tutti i generi.Semplicemente si comporta in modo molto meno mirabolante di quanto non ci si aspetti limitandosi a leggerne le caratteristiche.E NON SOLO lato AF,purtroppo.
Siccome poi in contemporanea ho sempre usato Nikon,il cui AF è davvero imbattibile (ora mi riferisco alle reflex),il raffronto è presto fatto.Parola di Oliviero Toscani! |

Ho solo dato una mia lettura della discussione, a partire dal titolo; credo di averne pienamente diritto, visto che siamo su un forum. E mi sembra che anche tu faccia spesso considerazioni simili.

Per l'85 1.2 non so a quale ti riferisca, ma se vuoi ti mando qualche raw dell'RF così vedi che è possibile fare un tele ultraluminoso che non distorce, non aberra e mette a fuoco anche la roba che si muove.
Delle DSLR Nikon mi ricordo l'eccellente sensore della D800E, il suo ottimo sistema flash, il tracking di cui è stata pioniera, l'af efficace al buio ma da disperazione sui laterali con le ottiche luminose, dove Canon era anni luce avanti. |
