Un'interessante disamina dei 50mm F1.2 per FF proposti dai vari brand
Canon RF 50L F1.2
PROS
Gorgeous bokeh
Weather sealing
Pretty fast autofocus, much faster than the DSLR versions
Build quality is solid
The textured, matte feel is nice
The control ring around the lens feels like an organic aperture ring
People simply look good with this lens attached
CONS
Expensive, but when you consider what this lens is, then it makes sense for what you do.
Though it sort of isn't needed, image stabilization would have been nice due to the size.
The reason why you're most likely considering reading this review of the the Canon RF 50mm f1.2 L USM is either because you're interested in a purchase/switch over or you just want to find a reason why your current gear is superior. If I'm going to be very honest, the Canon RF 50mm f1.2 L USM is the best 50mm lens that I've tested. I loathe the 50mm focal length. LOATHE IT! But with this lens, I feel like I'm shooting with a medium format 80mm f2 lens in the 645 format. It's beautiful and in every single way, Canon is leading the way when it comes to 50mm focal lengths.

Nikon Z 50mm F1.2 S
PROS
Excellent balance between sharp and sterile
Beautiful bokeh
Accurate colors
Weather-sealed
Digital lens info display
CONS
Long and heavy
Autofocus is slower than the competition.
The Z 50mm f1.2 S uses nine aperture blades to capture smooth, rounded bokeh. The lens quickly yet smoothly moves from incredibly sharp to softly blurred. The blur softens lines and edges and draws the eye to the subject.

Sony 50mm F1.2 G Master
PROS
Fast to use on both the Sony a7r III and the Sony a7r IV
Weather sealing
Nice render
Very sharp
Wow, Sony actually listened to us and allowed a little bit of flare in. Bravo!
I actually think that over $2,000 is a fair price.
Pretty lightweight
CONS
A few autofocus issues with strong backlighting
Two different hard function buttons are a bit odd.
Still has a render that's nowhere as gorgeous as Canon's
The Sony 50mm f1.2 G Master is great. For the folks who want clinical sharpness, you're getting it. For the folks who complained about onion bokeh, there is none. And if you are bothered by beautiful lens flare, its soul has been sucked dry. You'll need to put all that stuff in via post-production instead. Basically, if you don't like sitting in front of a computer, create a camera profile instead. Otherwise, get a Pro-Mist filter or something. You'll probably need it. Sony does this thing that adds extra contrast, clarity, and sharpness. Lots of you will like it.

Leica 50mm F1.2 Noctilux
PROS
Great vintage character
Metal construction

Technically imperfect with edge softness and aberration

The bokeh from the Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.2 is simply delicious. Backgrounds have a nice, soft blur. At times, the bokeh almost seems to have a slight twirl to it. The falloff from sharp to blurred is fast, making the subject really pop. This effect works well for the foreground, as well as the background.

In sostanza pare che quello che gli sia piaciuto di più in generale sia il Canon, per la sua resa che paragonano a quella di un 80mm F2 su medio formato, seguito a ruota dal Nikon, mentre del Sony lamentano una troppa perfezione, al punto da renderlo sterile... per quel che riguarda infine il Noctilux ne decantano il bokeh, ma a che prezzo? praticamente quello dei 50mm di tutti gli altri 3 brand messi insieme!  |

Io ho preso da poco l'RF e lo trovo davvero eccezionale, una resa bellissima, autofocus molto veloce considerato la massa di vetro da spostare, stanca poco da portare in giro ed è davvero bellissimo da vedere su R5 
PS, le 10 lamelle del diaframma a f16 fanno dei bellissimi spike! |

Un 50 ultraluminoso è imprescindibile in un corredo importante ed è la lente che io amo di più.
Ho sia l'RF L che l'EF L ma (mi manca l'f1 tuo Zeppo.....).
Canon/Nikon/Sony giustamente li hanno a corredo e, a mio avviso, tutti e tre appagano i rispettivi Canonisti / Nikonisti / Sonysti.

Non ho mai creduto alle "gare" tra le lenti ma alle "gare" tra le foto e/o gli schemi di luce.
PPS
Certo che era (è) proprio bello il 50 L EF .... magari avessero tenuto quelle di dimensioni ....

Un commento, nelle conclusioni della review del Nikon l'autore qualifica il bokeh 'gorgeous' e non 'beautiful'
Sono andato a leggere la prova perchè non mi tornava che il bokeh del Nikon fosse 'solo' bello. |

Non mi piace la focale 50 e almeno al momento non spenderei soldi per una lente del genere.
Il Canon sembrerebbe il top ma alla fine ognuno sceglierà il 50 luminoso in base al brand che già possiede. |

Anch'io non amo particolarmente le focali intorno ai 50mm preferendo invece la focale di 35mm (abbinata a un 85/1,4 e a un 135/1,8).
Ciò detto queste recensioni non mi attirano particolarmente perchè, essendo amante dei viaggi, considero come PRIMARIE le caratteristiche di peso e ingombro che invece vengono spesso considerate marginalmente a favore di prestazioni ottiche che, all'atto PRATICO, credo siano pressoché equivalenti.
Tutto ciò premesso non posso non notare che il Sony, oltre ad essere il più leggero dei tre (non ho considerato Leica in quanto MF) ha motori di MAF lineari, ghiera dei diaframmi e diaframma a 11 lamelle.

Al di là di tutto, penso che i tre (Canon, Nikon, Sony) sostanzialmente si equivalgano, oggi nessun brand serio metterebbe in commercio ottiche di quel prezzo se non fossero eccellenti.
Io ho il Canon RF, ed ha una qualità pazzesca, ma non dubito che Nikkor e Sony siano da meno, questione di sfumature. Però dalle immagini postate emerge con evidenza che il Nikkor è ridicolmente enorme, anche rispetto al Canon ed al Sony, che già di loro sono belli cicciottoni.
Il Nikkor da solo occuperebbe mezza borsa fotografica, ora mi chiedo in concreto con quale frequenza il pur fortunato proprietario se lo porterà in giro?
Forse hanno voluto strafare, ma a volte (guardate il noctilux) le dimensioni (minori) contano…
Anche il raffronto dimensionale tra canon ef (lo avevo, ne ho avuti tre nel corso degli anni) e l'attuale rf gioca a favore del primo. Però se guardiamo alle prestazioni, e senza nulla togliere alla resa “unica” dell'ef 50/1,2, che pure apprezzavo e amavo, lo rf è oggettivamente superiore da un punto di vista, diciamo, tecnico. Forse più asettico del precedente, forse non è “l'obiettivo che disegna” come veniva chiamato l'Ef. Però viva la faccia, lo posso usare a f:1,2 senza dover evitare di focheggiare anche nelle zone periferiche… |

Axl, come ben sai ho avuto anche l'EF 50L F1.2 e su Reflex era una combo veramente compatta e pazzesca!
Questo RF è un bue a confronto, ma lo sono tutti oramai...

Anch'io sono più da 35mm, ma al momento esiste solo l'1.8 che non è proprio la stessa cosa

secondo voi quanto potrebbe valere un buon esemplare del "vecchio" 1.2 ef al giorno d'oggi?
quanto sareste disposti a pagarlo?
altra domanda, ma sostanzialmente quata differenza c'è con le versioni "premium" 1.4 tipo i sigma? |

Mi piace molto il 50mm come focale, ma spero onestamente che Canon (e gli altri) pensino a mettere in giro una via di mezzo tra i mastodontici 1.2 prezzati come reni e i compatti 1.8 per poverelli.
Magari se proprio non vogliono pestarsi i piedi un bel 40mm f2? |
