Canon rende disponibili da oggi nuovi aggiornamenti di firmware per le EOS R5, R6, R, RP, Ra e 1dxIII.
Canon EOS R5 Firmware Version 1.2.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes : - When using high-speed or low-speed continuous shooting modes, in Drive Mode with [High-Speed Display: OFF] , the visibility of the subject within the frame has been improved when shooting moving objects.* *During continuous shooting black frames will be inserted between frames in the viewfinder and live view. This will improve the visibility of moving subjects in live view and in the viewfinder. - Adds the [Auto] setting to the [Viewfinder brightness] menu that will brighten and dim based on ambient light conditions. - Enables 2nd curtain shooting sync during radio transmission wireless flash shooting when the Speedlite EL-1 flash is attached to the camera. - Enables manual flash output (excluding high-speed sync and optical transmission wireless flash shooting) to be selected and set up to 1/8192 from the camera menu screen when the Speedlite EL-1 flash is attached to the camera. - Improves compatibility of HEIF images recorded in the camera with MIAF (Multi-Image Application Format) standards. - Adds support for AF and release during zoom operations for some RF and EF lenses.

Il processo di aggiornamento dei firmware (soprattutto delle serie R) mi sembra essere davvero continuo.
Già erano stati rilasciati nuovi Firmware che avevano enormemente migliorato le capacità di durata di ripresa video per R5 e R6.
Con questi nuovi Firmware, in particolare, le due nuove uscite guadagnano ulteriormente in un aspetto direi assolutamente non secondario, ossia nel miglioramento dal mirino della visibilità di un soggetto in movimento. Un aspetto, in particolaremi mi colpisce, nei dettagli si specifica che " durante lo scatto continuo saranno inseriti dei black frames visibilli sia dal mirino che dal LV. Questo migliorerà la visibilità dei soggetti in movimento ".
Che dire, mi devo fidare.... e allora procedo all'aggiornamento della mia R6 ....
Io voglio capire bene cosa sono i black frames inseriti tra uno scatto e l'altro, questa volta aspetto di leggere su dpreview e fredmiranda il feedback degli “early adopters” Anche se mi sembra che sia solo per l'opzione “high speed display off”.
- l'impostazione di "Luminosità Mirino" (pagina 3 del menù giallo) passa di default in AUTO. Lo trovo un piccolo ma molto utile miglioramento; - la visibilità del soggetto in movimento con scatto continuo è, se possibile, ancora migliorata. Non saprei dire se hanno inserito dei black frames perchè proprio non li vedo, ma vi garantisco che la fluidità di ripresa è incredibile, non c'è alcun black out.
“ Ma la modalità high speed display è quella a 120 hz? „
Attenzione quella è la visione del mirino (Fluida o Eco).
High speed display in Italia corrisponde a: Visualizzazione ad alta velocità (pag. 7 del menù rosso).
La visualizzazione ad alta velocità che consente di passare da ogni scatto all'immagine dal vivo è disponibile quando si scatta con [AF:Funzionamento AF] impostato su [AF Servo] e con la modalità drive impostata su [H+] [Scatto continuo veloce] . La visualizzazione è più rapida, rendendo più facile seguire i soggetti in rapido movimento.
Ho la Rp, il precedente aggiornamento l'ho saltato, visto che interessava compatibilità con obiettivi che non avevo intenzione di comprare. Questo probabilmente lo farò, fosse solo per il miglioramento con il 50 rf che ho intenzione di prendere a breve.
Fatto aggiornamento sulla R6. Luminosità mirino oggi ha una opzione in più. Quella Auto. Io per il momento l'ho settato su manuale, poi vedrò in qualche situazione di forte (o debole) luce come si comporta l'Auto. Per lo scatto continuo come dice Axl, non ho notato niente di diverso o di particolare.
Domani scatterò all'aperto, così vedremo come si comporterà il mirino la cui luminosità invece io ho settato su AUTO.
Sulla fluidità del soggetto in movimento confermo quanto avevo già riportato in precedenza: la visibilità del soggetto in movimento con scatto continuo è, se possibile, ancora migliorata. Non saprei dire se hanno inserito dei black frames perchè proprio non li vedo, ma vi garantisco che la fluidità di ripresa è incredibile, non c'è davvero alcun black out.
Domanda da nuovo possessore di RP , se non sono stati installati i fw precedenti, installando l ultimo si hanno i benefici anche dei precedenti firmware ?
Si, ogni aggiornamento include anche i precedenti miglioramenti e/o variazioni.
