Pros: Stunning! A scalpel! Sharpness out of the common parameters, real color rendition, for those who love the background blur: a cream. No kind of disturbance or distortion, very precise fire ring, sliding but not sled: a real, massive jewel!

Cons: As far as I am concerned: Requires 6d machine switching to 5DSR and purchase Zacuto Pro 3x Viewfinder!

Opinion: The dream for years... Arrived today, November 5, 2018 (now it is difficult to find new, 2 orders, two refunds for supplier left without... The third is gone). It makes an impression already as object: really massive and built according to perfect Deutsche Optische technologie, even if Made in Japan. Proven, alas I will have to change machine, since I love pushing the equipment to the limit... and for precise focus closer will need a zacuto 3x viewfinder. Proven with Kenko Pro 300 DGX 1.4 x multiplier and I find myself a monstrous 189 mm! The Blur is noted, the shots freehand will be reduced in number, no matter... With the extension tubes, even cascading, the macro images are impressive. Reduced depth of field? So what? Program stacking shots Helicon Focus Pro: And it snaps to maximum sharpness, at ISO 100-F 4. Extension Warranty (as if needed...) on Zeiss website. The Mercedes of DSRL lenses? No. The Bugatti.

Pros: Chromatic Rendering, absence of aberrations, contrast and precision in the reproduction of the detail, a delightfully fluid focusing ring, precise at the right point.

Cons: For someone it might be a against manual focus and lack of stabilization, in fact the only cons for me is the cost.

Opinion: Objective to say the least exceptional, in my opinion by far the best 135 mm available on the market, apochromatic and able to make the best both in the portrait and in the landscape. With extension Rings is also used effectively in the macro field and still life. I'm in love with this lens, a must for photography enthusiasts. Pros: Exceptional optical output, brightness, flawless mechanical fabrication, minimum focus distance

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I found a used specimen in absolutely new condition at an interesting price and I didn't let it slip. Already from the first test shots I could see an excellent optical yield and now, after a few months, and after using it in the most disparate shooting situations, I can only confirm the high quality of the images that this lens is in can provide. The yield is extremely uniform across the frame and there is no trace of aberrations of any kind. The perfect fluidity and the wide angle of rotation of the focus ring allow an extremely accurate focheggiatura. The electronic rangefinder of my Nikon Df (the "Green Dot" in the viewfinder) provides a sufficiently precise indication for most circumstances; In the most critical cases I use Live View. The lens comes with a beautiful metal lens hood coated internally with Velveteen and equipped with a bayonet mount, which effectively performs its task. It is a lens that I would like to recommend to all those who are looking for a bright medium-tele and with an excellent image quality, and that do not let themselves be intimidated by manual focus.

Pros: Very good image quality in all aspects: high definition, contrast to the right point, macrocotrasto and three dimensionalities combined with great pleasure, vibrant colors but natural and balanced in the lights and shadows ... in short, there is only to be done praises

Cons: If you are looking for a lightweight mediotel, with fast and stabilized autofocus ... that's not it

Opinion: It may seem strange to buy (in the case, however, at half price) a lens of this type to plug it on the Panasonic GH5 and make videos ... but the results are there, too. In video, the manual focus is very good thanks to the large and well friction ring with rotation. But this is just the startling surprise premise, even in close-ups and macros (butterflies, dragonflies, reptiles) exploiting a yield that remains unchanged and always high even at the minimum distance of 80cm (and seems to be missing nothing Also with the extension rings PK11 and PK13, I have the Nikon Attack). This 135 Zeiss is the best goal I have ever used, in some ways even higher than the Leica R 100 macro-apo.rnFrancally now that I know that you can get such a quality and enjoyment of shooting I would do it without you.

Pros: outstanding image quality, accurate focus, color reproduction and the blurry

Cons: slowness in operations, especially optical Shot or placed portraits.

Opinion: I got to use the 135 two days in Germany while visiting the Zeiss Newoldcamera in 2015. At the time, I had the D600 and I have to admit that compared to 100mm I still was even better in terms of yield and especially not It has absolutely purple fringing or chromatic aberration of any kind, which instead note on 100 at full aperture. Everyone praised the sharpness, which undoubtedly is exemplary but to me what they like the Zeiss is transparency and color rendering, for me much more natural than the Nikon, which somehow always bring out a magenta component or yellowish that it is particularly evident in certain types of portraits with flash and I do not like it at all. Now I have the D500 but it is sure that as soon as I find a cheap D750, 135 (with 18, and wallet permitting) will be the first optical'll buy.

Pros: Sharpness, perfect optical correction, solid construction, magnificent focus.

Cons: Heavy

Opinion: I have owned a variety of optics for portrait of various brands (Leica, Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, Contax) for both 35mm and medium format. Having said that, I can say (of course very personal opinion) that the Zeiss Apo Sonnar 135 is the most beautiful portrait lens I've ever used (along with the 110 F2 for Hasselblad Planar). I speak not only of sharpness (still amazing) but for a number of features that make it unique in several ways: first, the perfect optical correction. I tried to take in the most adverse lighting codizioni, with strong contrasts, but I have to say that this view is always performed beautifully. Chromatic aberration is absent, even when shooting at full aperture. The color rendering is typically Zeiss (for some a bit cold but I prefer it that way). The sharpness is absolutely incredible both the center and the edges and diaphragm brings no improvement, but an increase in PDF. Having already owned the Zeiss Makro Planar ZE feared that the focus ridifference represents difficult and inaccurate (which I had experienced with this lens). I must however say that, apart from having a ring of focus extremely fluid and precise confirmation of focus is always to be false (on the body 5D Mark II) and I have not encountered any problems front or back focus. The focus is very progressive and very enjoyable. The only drawback is the considerable weight but it is also the logical consequence of a solid and flawless mechanical construction. Although compared to the great Canon 135 F2L, the Zeiss is superior in all respects. A perspective that I would warmly recommend to lovers of the portrait.

Pros: The lens absolute

Cons: difficult to "tame"

Opinion: May 2015: a dream come true. I state that I bought eight days ago in Garlasco, 900 photo studio, the master of few words, but in concrete and useful advise. It paid 1,800 euro, which was the best price and do some shopping on the internet. I used then only initially. I do not think are enough adjectives to describe this lens. Sure, it difficle to use, because, with f2, with the manual focus we want nothing to go wrong. Then when you acquire photos with Lightroom, you realize that the colors, contrasts, tones, are in practice already perfect. And 'SIMPLY FANTASTIC.
