Pros: Sharpness, 1.4 aperture, excellent bokeh, good construction, AF with eos r does not miss a beat

Cons: Not found yet

Opinion: Lens in my possession for a short time, used and happens almost immediately, first fixed lens at f1.4 and I find it gorgeous, I confirm the merits listed by other people such as the excellent sharpness already in ta, bockeh, etc ... a little less who says the weight (compared to other fixed ok, but calculating the quality that gives you already a ta you carry quietly all day coupled to an eos r, I was used to 5d3 and 24 70 tamron 2.8 stabilized, maybe this helps?). No focusing problems with eos r, compared with Canon lenses in my possession (16 35 f4 and 70 200 2.8 II) is slightly slower, but nothing like that, a few thousandths of a second more!!! After all, an excellent lens, excellent value for money!

Pros: Sharpness

Cons: WORRYING AUTOFOCUS

Opinion: on sharpness, I do not add anything else is very good particularly from 1.8 even at the edges THE PROBLEM: AUTOFOCUS , my analyzes on both d800 and d850: outside the central points of the cross sensors (the three central rows), simply NOT THERE. he hooks but is never sharp. >>> IF YOU WANT THE PERFECT FIRE you have to focus in the center and recompose or use the LV large shadow even on the whole ART series. TOO BAD REALLY . Just to clarify with Tamron 70-200 g2 and 35 35 1.4 this does not happen or much much less. TOO BAD. it is important to be aware of it and train yourself to recompose

Pros: The best 50mm on the market, frightening sharpness already at F1.4, quality of the final photo, wonderful bokeh, heavy lens (it is the quality that returns justifies the 800g or so), you fall in love with it to such an extent that you do not disassemble it anymore, but as indeed the whole series of fixed Art makes you fall in love.

Cons: Maybe the Microcontrast, but my photographs in Post-Production helps me not to have it. I am not a lover of natural colors and super shot. I love it as it is. It has almost no flaws, sometimes perhaps it does not hook in the dark, but it is rare. I lost fire very rare times. Considering I had a 6D Mark I (the very first 6D, which certainly wasn't lightning to focus).

Opinion: History of my 50mm: Yognuo 50mm f1.8 > Canon 50mm F1.8 STM > Canon 50mm F.1.4 USM > Sigma Art 50mm F1.4 | The quality of the files has changed dramatically throughout (detail, color gamut, sharpness, the WOW effect with each shot). Chromatic Aberrations do not even exist at TA, the detail already at TA is scary! I have no words of how much I am verifying the quality of every Sigma Art I have tried/owned, including the magnificent 105mm F1.4. Of course they are heavy, on this there is no doubt, the micro-contrast, asserte, or does not exist almost at all, but see it, indeed, as a merit, the flat photos in post you can work better: the experience is similar already happens with the LOG or FLAT files, in the camera I already set all FLAT (settings without any emphasis in the Canon parameters) so that I have in post production a greater range of editing. As it happens, in fact, in the LOG files for the video format, the files must be colored, or almost, even if here it is simpler because it is not really a flat, but already has a clearer chromatism. When I go to use my presets in Photoshop RAW Camera or Lightroom Classic or Lightroom on iPad I realize how precious Sigma is in my Color Grading. What you can do with Canon lenses, but much more difficult to give a character that I look for in my shots. I have always loved the melancholic color, a little desaturated, pastel colors, and it is an active part of my current style and ways of post producing and coloring each of my photographs. I love what Sigma Art hunts naturally, without slow defects, aberrations, the flat color science of Sigma and it is what makes it unique and I do not consider it a defect, but a merit for me. Although sometimes it may happen that it does not focus, but it is also the fault of my old and beloved EOS 6D, with the 5D Mark IV it is really difficult not to focus if not in very poor light. But the Sigma on its part is fast, precise and if the fire hooks I challenge you to compete with other L series lenses (EF non RF) of Canon fixed. l 50mm F1.2L USM tested, and 1.4 is not as sharp as the Sigma, although it is a 1.2L (we compare that at TA, the files at f1.2 are pasty and the sharpness loses especially on the edges. The Sigma, despite being an F1.4 is a hypercorrect optics, with many groups of correction lenses and this also justifies the comparison of the actual light that arrives at the sensor which is as if it were compared to a focal length of an F1.6 (F1.5 sometimes) the lenses are slow and have a certain resistance to light. Explained why the much-criticized micro contrast is also missing, Canon 50mm lenses have 1/3 of the lenses, Sigma have those lenses because the engineering of those lenses is perfect, but like all lenses they have defects that can please or displease. But we do not blame dear Sigma, but physics (which is not a human cause, there is a limit to physics) and if you want such a perfect lens you will not have it in other Canon lenses. The Sony G Master series is very similar, but it's Sony, another story, another planet.

Pros: Mainly sharpness, good already at full aperture in all conditions and at any distance of focus

Cons: Boring and flat rendering, amateur autofocus sometimes does not hook, high weight to be a 1.4, worse construction than it seems

Opinion: SHARPNESS: let's start with the merits, the Sigma 50 Art is sharp, disgustingly sharp. It is able to perform well in any condition already at full aperture, whether it is a close up or a distant full-length portrait. GENERAL YIELD: when I bought it (used at 450) as the main work lens I was very happy because compared to my old canon 50mm 1.4 it did not knead at full aperture over the meter of focus, it had less aberrations (than those that you do not remove with a click), more sharpness and general contrast very good, but after two years I wanted to sell it because it has a very flat yield anyway, opaque, which soon bores, the colors are never decided and has like a "patina" that kills photos with a lot of color variation inside them, I do not know if I explain. Example, a portrait of a blonde with blue eyes does not make it well, it is sharp but flat in tones, regardless of the color profile used or highlights the cold colors (blue eyes) or warm (dark blond / brown hair), the microcontrast of this lens is really mediocre. Before selling it I had it for some time together with the Canon EF 50mm 1.2 that replaced it, well they are two lenses of different categories. The numbers and reviews say one thing, while the experience in the field says quite the opposite, there is a reason why the sigma on the used is found at just over half of the Canon. The Canon L has much better colors and a much higher halftone yield, but I'll come back to that later. AUTOFOCUS: another note against the sigma, the focus (at least on Canon bodies) is mediocre and at key moments you risk losing the exchange of the rings and this is not a good thing, there is a problem of front back focus (which it still has) but not to hook the subject! BOKEH: the blur of the Sigma is good but not excellent, even here I would call it boring. Quantity but not quality. BUILD QUALITY: it has never taken shocks but after only a summer of weddings I found it with a crack on the plastic around the front element, bad bad sigma. DIMENSIONS: a really excessive weight for a 50mm 1.4, but this is the price to pay to have a hyper correct optics. BRIEF COMPARISON WITH THE CANON EF 50mm 1.2 L: the Canon is less sharp at full aperture but is already sharp enough for every use, has a blur of a completely different caliber (quality and quantity), majestic colors and a rendering of detail (NOT sharpness but tonal detail) at full aperture to leave you speechless. All weighing and cluttering less! Then if you are interested in distortion (correctable with a click and in any case nothing tragic) aberrations (also here nothing dramatic) and sharpness at the edges at full aperture buy the Sigma, if instead you are photographers and you want a lens that can make the difference and give you that "more" invest yourself with your eyes closed on the Canon without thinking twice. The Canon is a lens that does not always use it at full aperture because, generally speaking, it has its own identity from 1.2 to 1.8 (magical) and another identity from f2 up (sharp and microcontrasted not to be believed), so it is like having more than one lens in one depending on the yield you prefer, a daydream (1.2), a daydream but engraved (1.8), a blade with otherworldly colors (from f2 upwards). Sigma has for better or worse the same identity at every opening, not surprising, without infamy and without praise. CONCLUSIONS: in short, it is an amateur lens suitable for general use and very unsuitable for portraiture in my opinion, if you want to take on an exaggerated weight for a 1.4 spending 450 on the used (not worth a euro more especially for the build quality and autofocus) this lens is for you, but if you are professionals it will not withstand either the test of time or the comparison in the field with optics of other caliber such as the aforementioned Canon 50 L or some other zeiss pearl

Pros: Superlative sharpness, price, construction, optical quality, addictive

Cons: Every now and then he suffers from Front/Back focus with little light

Opinion: Optics that I would never change and replace, absurd sharpness already in T.A., the weight is not so excessive and you can manage quietly, the construction is solid and well done, really superlative optics, the only flaw (but you know) the focus is not lightning fast (on Sony A7ii) and with little light every now and then it struggles to find the focus point , I honestly do not consider it such a persistent defect and that makes you hate the lens, the price in relation to quality is in my opinion perfect looking at what the competition offers. I think it's one of the best (if not the best) optics I've ever had.

Pros: so much quality at the right price

Cons: for now not found, weight is not a problem for conscious use.

Opinion: I compare the nikon 50 1.8 G, excellent lens, but the sigma 50 1.4 differs mainly in the absence of distortion, it is as if it were a 60 mm for narrow portraits. It has less nasone effect. You buy it to use it at 1.4 although in full-length portraits the edges lose too much to 1.4, but recover very well at 1.8 even at the edges. It is the right lens to use for interior portraits with little light and limited space. If on a trip I had to use only one lens I would take away this. For autofocus, for now I have calibrated in the car at 1.5 meters and it seems to me that it is fine even at greater distances without performing the fine calibration with the dedicated dock

Pros: Excellent quality, sharpness, autofocus precision absence of vignetting

Cons: the weight possibly but if you want this quality there are not many alternatives

Opinion: I've been posseggo this lens for a few months now and I've been extensively tested in numerous fashion, commercial, portrait, distillife, industrial photo shoots, in any situation it has a crazy sharpness all over the frame and a cleaning in the shot, without vignetting and chromatic aberrations that has nothing to do with other lenses. I used it on the D750 and came from Nikon 50mm 1.8 D and 50mm 1.8G which I still own and have nothing to do with it despite being good lenses. The only disadvantage if you can say so is footprint and weight, in the sense that in certain situations I understand a more compact and discreet lens can be more comfortable, for 90% of the work on official services this gives you an extra gear. Highly recommended

Pros: Sharpness to all diaphragms, robustness and mechanical construction, blurry, chromatic rendering, reliability and constancy of focus, held to parasitic reflections and flares.

Cons: Weight and size, AF calibration need with USB Dock

Opinion: Used on Nikon D4 and two Nikon D 810s. Crisp always in the center, even at full opening, with very good edges, which become very sharp beyond F 2.8, it has gradual transition from fire to blurry, which is soft, chromaticly neutral, the AF is very precise and reliable, but I had to calibrate it with the USB Dock for a slight frontal fire error, but it is a simple, easy and short job. It holds direct strong light well, does not have serious problems of parasitic reflections or flares. I compared it with my Zeiss Milvus 50 mm F2 Macro Planar and chromaticly they are very similar, sharpness better sigma to large openings, especially at the edges. The lens is very heavy and cumbersome, but it makes you forgive gigantism with an excellent image always.

Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, construction, elegance, price, ergonomics

Cons: Mah... autofocus calibration?

Opinion: It's the first time I'll leave a review but this is at least dutiful. I bought this lens in full "lockdown cravings" to take off a nice challenge and take a 50mm that would last me forever (more or less like a nice diamond) and was about the top. After trying many of them, including the 50L that however for budgetary reasons I left "on the shelf", the choice fell on the 50 Art, already tried for video on a Red camera. Well... Goodness me. Sensational sharpness even at 1.4, even in some shots I had to reduce it in post because it was absolute, without a smudge. Bokeh splendid, not as wonderful as in the two 85 (1.2 Canon and 1.4 Art) also because of the focal length but still scary. Very solid construction, beautiful also to hold in your hand (I do not understand those who say otherwise ... but have they ever really used it?). Price in my opinion even low for what optics promises and above all maintains (paid new 690 euros near the Amazon River). If really, pulled for the jacket, I should find a defect I would say autofocus: with not perfect light does not hook very well (at least on 6D2) and must be calibrated because it suffers from f/b focus, but already with fine calibration in the machine I solved with a +15. The weight... well, given the images he churns out, you love him unconditionally even though he's got a little bit more "scum." In my humble opinion it is one of the definitive optics, one of the arrival points in this focal length. Zeiss is probably better (never tried) but at what price? Now I brutally started the monkey for 85/135... we hope to be able to silence her. Update. Mounted on Eos R all autofocus problems magically disappear, so this lens is officially and in my opinion FREE OF DEFECTS.

Pros: Extreme sharpness

Cons: Weight...

Opinion: I have been using it for several years, first on Canon (5D MK III to 5Ds R) and now on Sony A7R IV (with Sigma adaptor), it is a spectacular lens, extreme sharpness, already elevated to TA. Perhaps one of the best lenses I have used in recent years, even with sony's 61 Mpx has an incredible rendering in detail. Landscape, night photo... and also great for studio portraits, the bokeh isn't great. The only drawback.. the weight..

Pros: Sharpness always and anyway, romantic flare, contrast, precision of fire, almost non-existent chromatic aberrations, excellent MF ring for the search for fire in the video.

Cons: Great for gym

Opinion: I have a canon that I use with mc11 on an a7II. Shoot at 1.4 making the skin crawl. He never misses one. Too bad for the weight, my lady, not so much in use because it is balanced, but in the bag makes a difference. Bokeh great only if the subject is quite detached from the background otherwise nothing special. Recommended if you need absolute precision and take shots of events where you do not have the opportunity to repeat. Typical colors sigma, like, do not like, "do vobis", I do not mind.

Pros: Sharpness already in TA, brightness, speed and silence AF, internal focus, construction and finishes Art, complete with lampshade and transport bag

Cons: Weight, but you already know before you buy it.

Opinion: After having the opportunity to try a specimen long ago, with probable calibration problems that led to af results not perfectly accurate and that had led me to prefer for the footprint and weight the Canon 50mm f. 1.4 USM, which when used at f4-5.6 is just as sharp as this, but that in TA presented the side for CA at the edges and corners at the edges and corners , as well as loss of detail, I decided to give a second opportunity to this view that to my deep amazement, in the specimen purchased by me, seems not to suffer from the problems of AF that I had encountered in the specimen tried at the time. From the first shots taken I noticed an exceptional sharpness already at TA on the whole frame that closed to f4 increases further. The boken is a bit nervous, but not a bother, on the other hand both the Canon 50mm f.1.8 STM and 50mm f.1.4 USM could not do better, indeed. In short, after a first test of a specimen unfortunately not perfect, with this the lightning strike was triggered and since I bought it I can not remove it from one of the two machine bodies that I own (it is addictive) although basic I prefer the use of zoom for their greater versatility. I would point out that the AF is perfect both used with my 5d MK III and with the 6d MK II, which does not digest much of the third-party optics, but with this it did not show any problems of compatibility AF and with both bodies I did not have the need to make micro adjustments on camera or with the dock. The only price to pay for the optical and construction quality is the weight almost three times higher than the Canon 1.4 and the footprint that does not make it go unnoticed, but when you admire the results you understand that it is worth making this little effort. Vote 10 full.

Pros: AF speed, good sharpness to all diaphragms especially at TA, price

Cons: Maybe an anonymous surrender, it's not a 50mm that makes you fall in love

Opinion: The premise: for me the best lens in this focal point is the 58 1.4 G Nikon. This Sigma is a great handyman, the size all in all are acceptable, famous for a yield engraved at 1.4. Perhaps his only flaw as I see it is that it has a cold and anonymous blur, nothing to do with 58 nikon or with the Canon 1.2 L. Of course, you will say, it costs even a third compared to these two. and that's why I promote it. Another Pro to add to the list is that on Eos R (and in general on ML) does not miss a photo at 1.4 I fail to do it on purpose. Both in AF-S and in continuous fire eyes/faces. never had any problems even on 5D4 anyway.

Pros: Speed, full-opening sharpness, construction, blurry (hard but I like it)

Cons: Not tropicalized, you'll f---ing want to buy more fixed Art.

Opinion: Now it is a few months that I bought it, I use it on Eos R, not wanting to say the mere technical data I dwell on the sensations: it is a blade, both as a definition and as an ability to capture soft and metaphysical light that filters sideways. It churns out files so rich in detail that it has to remove them if necessary and therefore also allows important crop. The blurry is not creamy but it is worth considering that it is better to be a lens that churns out a file still to be maneuvered rich in details rather than already conpped and half ready (for me at least). the only flaws I would like to say is that the lampshade is a piece of plastic and in very close portraits I happen to have to further correct the profile of the lens by increasing the distortion value to the right. I am aware that it is a problem of 50 in general (in fact I also bought the 85). For the rest it is a pleasure to use it, in hand it seems to have a full metal rod, well balanced, beautiful also aesthetically and on my R performa as a god.

Pros: Construction, maf dial, solidity, sharpness, blurry and... Weight!

Cons: Sometimes he gets it wrong, but no one is perfect!

Opinion: It took me a long time to try one. Years. Then I convinced myself. And today I can say that Sigma, at least in this focal point, defeats ANY competitor and (perhaps) is second only to Otus. As for construction and solidity, I dare call it from the past. Handling this "fifty" is real poetry. Some might argue that it weighs: well, in my opinion the weight is an unequivocal demonstration of the enormous quality of this lens, which does not create aberrations and does not pay large differences in sharpness between center, mid point and side. The blur is soft, pasty and progressive. Addictive. Yes, sometimes (rarely) loses fire, but at these levels it really happens to everyone, even those who, not being able to show such cleanliness and sharpness, have become famous for a so-called "magic", which is nothing but the desire of some - mostly fetishists of Canon L, like myself - to forgive flaws to their own expensive jewels.

Pros: Sharpness, no distortion, Bokeh, general build quality.

Cons: A bit of an exaggerated footprint, poor cap quality.

Opinion: I have for a few months this wonderful optics with Sony and grafting. Perfect Autofocus, it doesn't miss a shot even at full aperture. At the opening there is a slight vignetting that disappears by closing the diaphragm, solvable in post-production but in most cases I do not correct completely as pleasant. Gorgeous Bokeh, soft and not at all nervous. I bought this lens purely for portraits (superlatives). In fact I use this lens for almost 100% of my photographs, including travel and landscape, since I have it in my kit. Of course, it often turns out too often for that purpose. This focal length allows me to shoot in a myriad of situations and for the moment I do not feel the need to pass even to other optics. Only negative note, the weight. For those who travel it may be uncomfortable to take a walk, but it gives such great satisfactions that it is always with me, that it is around some city or for a walk in the mountains! Super recommended in relation also to the price. There is no tropicalization, so for those who have this kind of demanding, look for something else!

Pros: Sharpness already at 1.4, lightning-fast autofocus

Cons: Front Back Focus, weight (inevitable quality view)

Opinion: I own the lens for a year, using it on 5d III. I do not hide that at 1.4 many times it misses the fire. At 1.6 My model works very well and has a mustuosa sharpness at full aperture. Direct competitor of the Canon 1.2, which is definitely superior, but if you want to spend half this is the right lens. Solid and massive like all ART, it has an autofocus that aside from the problem of front back focus, is lightning-fast

Pros: Sharpness, construction, AF on Sony

Cons: No, not even the price!

Opinion: Long tested on Sony A7RIII in street photos and portraiture... Result: a bomb! Surround lens with AF spettacacular... The Sony Eye AF works fine. Lens built fine with materials that I like a lot, maybe in the long can be a bit heavy, but it's not my case! Comunquesia is a glass like the 35 and the 85 always Sigma ART series that can not miss! Fully satisfied with the purchase!

Pros: Sharpness, construction, weight (well-balanced optics on FF "series")

Cons: Reliability

Opinion: Socket used, has no rivals for those who-like me-love the sharpness. I have the doc but I have not used it yet, also because I calibrated the optics in the car (Canon 5d, MIII) and therefore I fear a shift. Sometimes leaves to be desired for the focus, but only sometimes! For the rest, in my opinion, there is no match with other Canon 50mm, you want 1/4 want 1/8 (II and the excellent STM).

Pros: Sharpness, price, yield to TA

Cons: Weight, AF variability in Canon pre 5diii.

Opinion: Taken to use it on the 5ds, once calibrated with the dock I am a sniper. Frightening the difference with any other bright 50mm tried before at TA.. You can put the subject in focus in an extreme corner having it clear and without aberrations. The perfect lens if one wants to use in toto the large opening, also for particular landscaping as well as uncommon compositions. For the rest.. I use it now with Sony and Mc11.. And the eye AF runs fast and accurately. From F2 onwards it is stratospheric for sharpness, a reference. Bought used for less than 400 cards, I would say for the FF is a mandatory glass to have if you love the 50mm focal. Against? Weight.. But if you want these optical qualities the cons must be put in the count.

Pros: Optically unrivaled if we seek sharpness and creaminess of the bokeh

Cons: Construction not up to par (like all sigma Art), problems with autofocus and size

Opinion: A bit like all sigma Art: sharpness at the highest levels, excellent bokeh, but ridiculous construction. As usual you use it two months and it looks like it's 30 years old. To add the stress of the dock (not a real problem, but anyway €40 you have to unhook them, and sometimes you have to calibrate everything), that when you start having 4 \ \ 5 Sigma lenses, it becomes enough time to spend to calibrate them all. If they are zoom, let it go because we spend the day. Of course, at the optical level is a bomb, it will not be "characteristic" but I could call it "surgical". It doesn't get unbalanced in dominant tones, it has no smude, it's a scalpel. If that may interest you it is up to you. Absolutely not recommended on Sony, either with Sigma MC-11 or native. It becomes cumbersome and impossible to turn by hand (like all Sigma Art unfortunately). Definitely a very good purchase in anticipation of prints of important size, bad with regard to street or other similar genres.

Pros: Sharpness at the highest levels.

Cons: Weight, slow autofocus in low light situation, and micro-blur problems at full aperture.

Opinion: Purchased about two months ago from a user here on Juza. I work on a Nikon D750 and I have to acknowledge that with this "fifty" Sigma has been overcome. It is still a lens that has some criticalities. The weight is not a little, but the glass weighs, autofocus that has difficulties. In my case fortunately I did not need micro-oregulations, but in many cases has made a damn and not a little. But we have to recognize that the shot with this lens, has a fabulous sharpness and just as regular and creamy bokeh. In the night shows then you exceed and with the other fifty also Nikon there is really no race. In Summary, satisfied with the purchase and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Image quality, Bokeh, three-dimensionality, value for money, sharpness, edge to TA

Cons: AF Dancer with low light, weight, AF calibration in some specimens

Opinion: Ever since you grab it for the first few times you realize you have in your hands something very premium, finishes and construction have nothing to envy to the much more noble Zeiss etc. mounted on my D800 in the early shots I was impressed by the cleanliness of the files It generates, especially when combined with "ultra-pixelated" bodies like the D800. The main problem, which is also immediately presented is the weight: it is impossible not to suffer its 800g that joined to the Kg of the D800 on which the mount, dangerously bring the weight of the combo to 2kg. This defect, combined with AF problems (especially in low-light cases) are widely forgiven when you take your hand and you begin to fully appreciate all the pros. AF almost imperceptible, creamy bokeh and extraordinarily smooth, three-dimensionality with few equals and sharpness always at the highest levels (sometimes it is necessary to even lower it in PP) and excellent management of the edges even TA are his ticket from Visit. It is a lens that is impossible not to fall in love with, Sigma with the ART series has really broken in two the market, and even now that I switched to Sony is candidate to return to my lens park. Some specimens need the Dock to perform the calibration of the AF, although I did not come across a faulty unit I found it rather disappointing that Sigma does not offer (given the spread of oil-stain problems related to AF) in the lenses in Homage to the aforementioned Dock. I finally regained it, this time with an E-mount attack! I noticed that they solved the problems of AF, "bridged" the space between the bayonet and the body of the lens on the Mount Reflex and I find it much more reactive in the foci (also merit of the different AF system of Sony)

Pros: Absolutely my favorite lens, three-dimensionality, sharpness, build quality

Cons: No tropicalization

Opinion: For me it is the best modern lens ever, both for image quality and focal length. At a distance of 2 years from the purchase sometimes I still wonder what it produces. Coupled with the Sony sensor (with MC11) from 42mpx from the best of SE, but also on canon it is definitely appreciated. I have also owned the 35ART that has never kidnapped me and I still have the 135Art other crazy lens but never how much the 50

Pros: All

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Bought today an outstanding lens for sharpness at all apertures, maybe it suffers a little at 1.4 but at 1.6 a already recovered, wonderful colors and contrast excellent construction beautiful also to see, good price even if I bought it in a physical store of items Photographic and without a doubt costs something more than on the internet but I like more to buy in the store because I can try and if I needed warranty intervention, the seller thinks about the addition and withdrawal. Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, color, price

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: In 12:00 am I fatto16gb of scatti😬. I tried it both on Canon 5 d III on 6 d II. I didn't have to make any adjustment, which some feared, I love it, I think it will remain securely mounted on 6 d ❤ ️. The focal length is versatile and lends itself to extreme crop thanks to sharpness, I think it's a bit slow compared to several Canon lenses that I use, but it is certainly my feeling. Am I going to do a little hand but are satisfied. Consigliatissimo😊

Pros: Very clear lens even at TA, speed and accuracy of autofocus quite quiet, robustness of the body well built, brightness, nice and good-looking hood, price, blurred.

Cons: Heavy weight ... but it is addictive

Opinion: Bought this morning, a more than beautiful lens very special. I'm satisfied with this purchase and the price is there. I use it on Canon 6D, it is a bit heavy .. but when you start to shoot and glimpse on the display the beautiful images that makes you forget it and laugh at it. From a blurry really soft and enveloping to the subject depicted in the shot. Nitidissimo and precise in focusing. Used in manual is a hoot really. The first thing I tried is if he had problems with B / F focus .... thank God I was very lucky. I would buy it a hundred times more. At the moment I have not found any defects except that if you mount the hood on the contrary you can not use the adjustment ring.

Pros: Sharpness

Cons: AF adjustment

Opinion: Purchased a few days ago, just mounted on my D800 in the first shots I was a little skeptical as I presented many images not in focus, I then dedicated to recalibration with the appropriate USB Dock, a couple of hours as unfortunately I'm very fussy so I think you can do it even faster .... Subsequent shots with good sharpness.rnI have struggled to find how to recalibrate in Infinity position, the recalibration is easy to 40 cm + 70 cm + 150 cm with appropriate Focus Chart , but for Infinito I did not know what to do and then I took pictures with contrasted subjects at a distance of 5/10/20 meters and comparing the images obtained with Live Wiew I set the necessary correction on SIGMA to have similar results (easy to see using Lightroom with paired images)! rnSee my preferences of shots I used the distances Infinite to 5/10/20 meters, but if you prefer longer distances on landscapes subjects I recommend to recalibrate with longer distances, for example 50/75/100 meters, here everyone mustmake a choice according to your needs. rnConclusion: excellent sharpness / good speed AF / fine adjustment easy but you have to arm yourself with patience and eye!

Pros: Nitido Nitido Nitido. Fast autofocus

Cons: Weight, needs calibration

Opinion: I use this lens on D800 and in terms of sharpness I've never seen anything like it. rnTo achieve the same sharpness with the old af-d it is necessary to close the diaphragm to 2.8. Autofocus very fast and accurate but requires calibration with the USB dock or if you are lucky it may be sufficient to adjust the machine. rnTo be a 50 is very large, it conveys a sense of classic solidity of the ART lenses. Pros: Even sharpened to TA, dazzling blond, great quality and feeling of importance in the hands

Cons: Some common problems with the MAF (but maybe it also depends on the fact that I'm not a professional)

Opinion: I have twice bought this lens ... the first time I had really trouble with a "ballerina" focus, the second time with a little more experience I could tame it, finding a lense in my hands that I will not take away never from my kit. Pros: With the 5 DRS it's a super-sharp and perfect focus, except for very rare cases that Canon is wrong with. With close-ups very impressive at maximum aperturarn. With the 5DSR you can chromate much while maintaining sharpness and absolute detail and then do without Of a zoomrn

Cons: No more lenses are needed, except for wide-angle or wide-angle zoom

Opinion: You can not appreciate the Canon 5DSR if you do not use sharpness and aperture equal to the Sigma 50 Art.rnI think that with 85 and even more with 135 is the same but with the 50 you make portraits set and cropping you " Mima a 85 "keeping the sharpness.rnFor 135 Art can be a good companion for the first floor.rnThe 70-200 2.8 II looks like a toy comparison as well as all the other lenses.rn I'll find a wide-angle or wide-angle zoom at height Even though in my kit the only objective that does not fade completely, although the class difference is evident, is the 24-70 VC 2.8 Tamron.rn From happiness.rnThe focus is perfect on my canon, much better as precision And constancy of all the other goals I have

When I bought the 50mm ART series for canon, I fell in love with this Series, in fact I also bought 85mm 1.4 and 20mm 1.4, there is not much to say, it is a fantastic look and I'm fine, I can only recommend it

Pros: Excellent sharpness, price.

Cons: Sometimes the fire is wrong with the 6D.

Opinion: This is a sharp knife that is therefore "handled with due care". The sharpness is excellent from the maximum aperture and if this is the most important feature to evaluate a lens, the "Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art" has it. Moreover, I did not see aberrations clearly visible. Of the best quality I've ever had. RnThe Canon 6D is not the ideal reflex coupled with the entire "sigma art" series, because of the many issues discussed on the forum many times, anyway even if I miss a few clicks, I can Get a 70-80% focus on portraits. And if one considers that with such a high-quality lens, a few millimeters of open-aperture fire blur emerges clearly, this percentage is not so bad. Rnrn

Pros: Sharpness and optical quality in general, excellent construction, quiet and precise auto focus, great price for what you get

Cons: Weight, but given the quality optics would stop even if it weighed three times

Opinion: Optical spectacular, the best drive I've ever had. Sharp even wide open, almost total absence of longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberrations, distortion does not exist, a truly fantastic goal. At the level of sharpness of D800, wide open, equivalent to the Nikon 50 1.4 G (who also own) to about f / 2.5 / 2.8. Compared to the latter, and could not believe my eyes given the reputation of the Sigma lenses, is faster and far more precise and consistent nell'autofocus. Buying it knew that the optical quality was excellent, and I was ready to compromise with the quality of autofocus, which famously gives problems on optical third party - I even its predecessor, the 50 1.4 HSM, Canon and l ' inconsistency was pretty obvious. Instead autofocus does its job perfectly, I have more shots to fire with the Nikon counterpart. I also bought the dock of the Sigma, but I did not need to use it: the aim was suffering from a slight back focus, but with micro-adjustment in the camera body fell into place in all distanza.rnLa quality of the bokeh is very good, although not the softest I've ever seen is not nervous at all and is very godibile.rnIl weight It is perhaps the only downside of this lens, but has an optical diagram so complex and full of items that I doubt you could do much better. On the other hand, the build quality is really good, it's all built with metal and plastic of high quality. Monta filters 77, one of the most common measures for the professional lenses, and to facilitate cleaning and avoid damage I immediately mounted a filter Hoya Protector HD.rnIn conclusion I must say that the Sigma has exceeded my wildest expectations with this lens, and for sure I will consider the purchase of other optical Art in the future. If he came out something longer always the series Art, like a 85 or a 135, I think I would buy it with your eyes closed.

Pros: Extreme sharpness, ability to enhance the 36 mpxl of the best machines, price, material, assembly

Cons: need for fine maf (but this one has a bit of all the bright optics especially if ultra-defined, although many seem not to notice...)

Opinion: I have just read the review of my friend Gian Carlo and I am happy with his enthusiastic impressions, also because the 50 Art I have recommended it several times. What to say, let's talk very simply about the final 50 mm, period. Maybe only the Otus can beat it, but let's talk about a catafalque without autofocus that weighs and clutters more than a hand grenade, not to mention the price... I got to compare it with the afs 58 1.4 nikon, which made a bad figure. The trouble (for others...) is that Art excels in practically everything: bokeh, sharpness, solidity, valuable materials, opening shadows, even the lampshade is a span above the nikon, built of much better polymer and with a very solid hook, there really is no risk of losing it! The weight is there, needless to deny it, but as Gian wrote well balances with the 800-810. The maf must be absolutely calibrated with the dock and once adjusted on the 4 distances it no longer moves and is of surgical precision, with good peace of the day those who say that you have to go back to adjusting it from time to time. WARNING: for the dimensions you do not based on photos, the real ones are quite different, it's really big! For me more than an optic we talk about a measuring instrument, and I have to say that it made me rediscover the taste of shooting with 50 mm. More: in another life I was among the lucky owners of the Noct who, although very good for those who were the standards of the time, never gave me the satisfaction that Art is giving me, especially the sharpness was really far away. Over the last 38 years I have spent a lot of money on this hobby of ours, of emblazoned optics I have in the house several but NEVER and I say NEVER I happened such a view, for me it has no rivals. Not even to say it, 10 cum laude. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to do that, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Otherwise forget, don't waste time and settle for Nikon, Art is not for you. Why am I going to go and say this? I explain: several users have the courage to write "maf perfect, mine is not to be calibrated" but then when you go to see many photos on these reviews you realize that these gentlemen are blind, or do not know the meaning of focus, of the two each. Art are measuring instruments and for their characteristics and their speed the fine calibration of the maf is mandatory, period. Then don't say I didn't warn you....

Pros: construction, excellent quality from f/4 onwards

Cons: weight, difficulty micro-wireing, non-existent assistance

Opinion: I gave it away today, as much as I liked for some performances, this lens that would be excellent if it were not for some problems in my opinion insurmountable if only for matters of principle and fairness. After a while you use it, often in optimal light conditions, you consider this optics excellent and in fact it is, and you don't realize the rest. Then you start to notice that TA doesn't focus practically ever and find that it's INDISPENSABILE to perform a microregulation, ok nothing that, you do. yes, but how? Take a nice chart, put yourself with the tripod etc. etc.and notice that at 50cm there is a problem and correct it with the fine adjustment in the room. I solved it! I miss it for nothing because you find that it is no longer good at 4-5 meters, and you discover the existence of a contraption that you have to buy for 50 euros and calibrate by you on 4 points but you do not understand a tube of how to do it. You do it once and you discover your head, you do it a second and you discover your feet. There are people who swear that it took 5 minutes to do all this, personally after 3 days of tribulations and despite the help of so many friends here on the forum does not come to the head. This lens is not a low cost yet there is no writing on the box that you will spend so many afternoons trying a calibration, there is no writing that absolutely serves a strange contraption called Dock Usb. Now how does Sigma tacitly claim all this from a client to me is a mystery. The assistance is practically non-existent in Rome as in many other cities. That's why I didn't want it anymore. Probably the lens, given so many enthusiastic reviews, among which there was also mine because "I did not realize", although considering that it could work well in the long run I do not think it is correct all this and I do without. Update 2019: at that time I had only tried with 6D, already with the 6D2 things were a little better, I will try again with the 5D4.

Pros: Remarkable construction quality, exceptional clarity even at full opening, clarity of colors, creamy blurry, fast maf, balance with D800, very low cost in relation to the characteristics and quality of the optics.

Cons: weighs (but feels less than feared)

Opinion: I arrived today, I immediately tested it to see if docks were needed for the maf. In my opinion it needs the docks (or maybe the fine adjustment is enough...), immediately it seemed perfect but, checking with the manual maf in live view I noticed some inaccuracies. The first impact is, however, decidedly positive, it seems to me a very clear perspective at all openings. I was afraid for his abundant 8 etti, I have to say that I feel them up to a certain point, thanks to the balance he has on the D800. I reserve the right to update my judgment after using it a little and comparing it with the Nikkor 50mm/1.4 AFS G that I still have... Update No. 1 - I couldn't resist and I made some comparisons with the Nikkor: Close distance - at the opening they are not so different, a sigma hair prevails - at f2 f2,8 and f4 clearly prevails the Sigma, I thought I had something wrong ... but here you can see from the graphs that is so https://photographylife.com/reviews/sigma-50mm-f1-4-dg-hsm/4 At infinity they would seem equivalent, but it is raining and so I do not trust the results and then there is that inaccuracy of the af, in short I have to redo it. I will wait for a sunny day and repeat everything in live view. The Nikkor vignettes more at full opening. Blurry, I like Sigma more, but nikkor isn't bad at all. I mean, Sigma wins, but Nikkor, considering it weighs and costs half, gets better than I could have thought. Update n 2 - I have redone my tests and comparisons with the Nikkor 50mm/1.4 AFS G several times, from a distance in my opinion they are quite equivalent, the Sigma is more correct and sharper at the edges and vignette less, but in the center and mid-range areas are equivalent. The big difference is at close range, where the Sigma prevails sharply at the f2 to f5.6 diaphragms, there it has just one more gear. Update #3 - I used it a lot this weekend, when I looked at the pictures I was blown away. This lens is exceptional!! Very sharp, blurry beautiful, beautiful colors and very clean. Without a shadow of a doubt it is the best lens I have ever used in over 40 years of photography. I never thought I'd compliment Sigma like that again. Update No. 4 I purchased the Dock and made the adjustment on 4 points. Now it's perfect at all distances. Never seen such a high-performance lens! I thank my friend Lupaccio for having recommended it to me several times !! I am sorry for the disappointment of Peppe Cancellieri (I followed his tribulations in a discussion). There is nothing to be done: we are faced with a high-precision instrument that needs to be calibrated carefully, but then I assure you that we are faced with a masterpiece of optics. Update No 5 (23/11/2020) a few years later I am also using it with a simply spectacular Sony A7rII thanks to a Nikon F - Sony E adapter from Commilte (V06 Commlite CM-ENF-E1 AF) simply spectacular, I don't know what else could be said about this wonderful lens.

After closing the fear in a drawer it took was a half hour with the appropriate software and USB dock to get a decent calibration. It 'still needed a good correction is on the lens in the camera body to get the right sharpness to TA. Even so, the points side sometimes cane fire. Frankly it is not an insurmountable problem because the problem occurs only with a couple of points and low side (not a problem of the D800 as with other lenses is no problem!). AF / 2.0 the problem disappears altogether. With the central points the AF is also accurate and fast. The sharpness is spectacular already 1.4 and 2.0 become something really embarrassing to the point that must be taken with the D800 in post and avoid adding sharp. A TA cartoon a little 'but easy fixes the post francamente vignetting is a very soft which I like very much. Very beautiful ring of MAF. Allows smooth and precise focus manually in a precise (unlike what happens with the optics of Nikon G). Useful thing: using the USB dock and dedicated software, you can adjust the travel of the ring MAF! Mica small thing! RNI colors are natural and brings contrast images. It performs well even in backlight and the hood protects well to do in the event of a side light forte.rnConclusione: a lens is difficult to use and it's certainly not for everyone! It 'a blade but does not forgive mistakes. I think the great lens at a very low price. Many have sold because of AF but there are those who buy one Zeiss at the same price for the manual focus thing that can be done easily even with Sigma in the case, we must be in special situations (I got to try 50 1.4 Zeiss and frankly in terms of image did not seem the best Sigma) ...for all other situations with the 21 central points the AF is lightning-fast and precise. My vote is 9.5 (whereas the votes here on the forum are always very high and that it would be 10 if it were not for the cons of that I just mentioned).

Pros: Excellent sharpness across the board, good materials.

Cons: Weight, cost, inconstancy in maf with side steps.

Opinion: I purchased this light last August with the USB DOCK. After a month I brought in assistance because they do not put a fire if not in full sun. Repaired, ten shots the same distance and subject, 3 or 4 are out of focus, front or back focus. After some trial and adjustment DOCK, problem solved, now everything is ok. Remains a lens by "experts" otherwise you run the risk of bringing home so many shots out of focus.

Cons: inconstancy in fire

Pros: very sharp at all apertures

Cons: perhaps a slight front focus aperture 1.4 average distance

Opinion: very good natural colors blurred impressive sharpness at any aperture by a remarkable sense of solidity very fast and accurate in focus even in low light tried both with Canon 5 d MarkIII that with Canon m where the factor 1.6 seems to decrease the quality of ' optics in the speed of focus and in its accuracy. I will try to test it best to check the light front focus

Pros: Sharpness at all openings, construction, color rendering, blurred.

Cons: Weight / size, need for calibration with usb dock.

Opinion: Objective of the highest quality, both constructive perspective. And 'crystal clear at all apertures and color rendering is very pleasant and balanced. Excellent also the sfocato.rnL'af works very well ... is fast and accurate, only note that requires calibration with a special dock (I highly recommend the purchase of this instrument). I had a constant back focus at all distances, with the dock I solved everything in 5 minutes. Now is perfect.

Pros: Construction, sharpness, color vibrancy

Cons: I like it a lot

Opinion: Taken from 10 days, mounted on 6d, does not suffer from f / b focus, I was struck by the sharpness wide open, I have to say that photographing in jpeg get no post production file beautiful saturated with bright colors, not as cold as sigma 35 art that now I più.rnA my humble opinion is the optics to have, especially for those who love the real sharpness of focus combined with one that I like moltissimo.rnPer the price that it costs the buy back 1000 times. rnInoltre if there are firmware updates optics will improve more and more ... great !!! Pros: All those who are not against

Cons: Optics unsealed, AF, Front / Rear Focus

Opinion: I must not add anything to the lure made by other utenti.rnIl my copy, combined with a camera body EOS 6D, is plagued by marked Front Focus (+20 from +11 body or via software Sigma) .rnIl AF system non'è precise as would be expected, even in lighting conditions favorable, and even after the necessary adjustments via dock USB.rnSu Full Frame vignetting is present but nothing sensational for me non'è never been a problema.rnIl weight and bulk are absolutely bearable, we will soon learn thanks to the practice ring MAF and all 'good impugnatura.rnSe your camera body is equipped with battery grip the weight balance improves notevolmente.rnNel complex perspective is "busy", perhaps more suited to photographers seeds / Pro or Pro.rnHo encountered since the opening of the box (then brand new), the presence of several dust grains more or less body lying on the lenses inside the tube ottico.rnA my opinion the real flaw of this is that non'è tropicalizzato.rnThis fact has also occurred in the copy of one of my amico.rnConsiderando the pleasure of use I stà returning I'm really happy but I can not forgive the small deficiencies above.

Pros: ---

Cons: ---

Opinion: Tried borrow for a few months, then bought. Sometimes in post sharpness because they take off from too much but for this often compensates for the need of a canvas. Until now he has never betrayed the fire plan (Canon 6d and 100d) or electromechanical presented abnormalities. No need correction data why not aim is nothing to correct; truly amazing lack of chromatic noise, distortions and abnormal optical inhomogeneities. If you already have lenses important try and weigh up the purchase; when mounted to the body the rest of the outfit would be more and more often at home. I find indispensable compare other similar optical maybe designed and built not only for digital as well or expressly for the film and therefore have specific qualities, strengths and weaknesses. 50 mm This is a real tool to take pictures.

Pros: value for money, sharpness, no distortion, AF, three-dimensionality

Cons: non-tropical conditions a bit 'bulky compared to the other 50 mm on the market

Opinion: Perceived high quality of construction. Mounted on Canon 6D, the AF is fast and I did not detect any problem of front back focus and therefore no need for calibration. Aberrations and distortions almost absent. Extreme sharpness. Bokeh "neutral", pleasant, perhaps less pictorial than Canon, but clarity and no distortion have their price. Three-dimensionality. Discreet little more longer, wider and heavier than any other 50 mm but you get used to. Another limitation is probably the lack of weather sealing. After the first shots I have not removed from the machine for a long time, leaving behind various optics with red line. Excellent value for money. Update: after about eight months has become my favorite optics that replace only some landscape photos. Absolutely recommended.

Pros: everything, just the top and not only in its price range

Cons: not having it

Opinion: Arrived today I allow me to enter my opinion though perhaps a little premature. I did about 200 shots, with the intention of finding the limits to this lens, for now she wins. Flare excellent, keep at TA impressively, an incision unrivaled fire is reactive not comparable to that of 'ef85 f / 1.8 which is an arrow but cmq fast, also saw the mass that has to move. The construction is excellent and the fluid ring giusto.Per get in a bit d + (qualitatively) should spend 2,500 euros for the Zeiss Otus .... and I do not think will ever !! Used Canon 6d. rnrn **** UPDATE *** after almost a month, but unfortunately I have to correct the roll of this lens, that even if the optical layer is formidable, preserves the problem "atavistic" Sigma, namely, the 'AF. After a series of tests I found a fluctuating behavior in focusing on the same point, it is fickle. Since they are able to make it I will avoid taking the dock, which I think noNo can solve this specific problem. Sin is a goal that stimulates and satisfies for its build quality and optics, AF to be reviewed by SIGMA :-( rnrnrn "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "NEW UPDATE" "" "" " "" "" "" "" "" rncome written above was determined to make the lens, but really I was sure that he could not find a lens as "formidable" optically speaking. I bought the dock and I settled with great satisfaction, with the same Calibration is great on my mk3 5d and 6d. Lens of a higher class have never seen a lens so engraved in 1.4 is incredible, it is blurry soft and gradual, super glad I is the top .... and I normally I enthusiastically so easily ..... great invention the dock sigma !! rnAGGIORNAMENTO: after about eight months I can say that is afantastic lens the best around, personally I love it and would not sell ever.

Pros: Sharpness, excellent construction, smooth bezel.

Cons: Pesantuccio a little, but then you get used to!

Opinion: I own this lens for about two weeks, I changed my mind on this point sigma! Amazing, those seeking clarity here you can find all over the frame, nice blurred in my opinion, af fast and excellent construction! I use it for parties at length, but also behaves very well in the portraits. A 50mm. Really all with the advantage of quality, for now I have not encountered defects except at the beginning the hood was a little hard in the graft but then ok! Certainly a perspective that advice, I tried other 50mm. But I find it a step up. Hello everyone

Pros: Sharpness throughout the frame. Bokeh neutral. Excellent correction of chromatic aberrations. AF fast and accurate

Cons: Variability of calibration between samples. Tested two, one at 0 and the other at +10 / +3 / +3 / 0. With the dock is resolved quickly and it works perfectly, without, some examples may be unusable.

Opinion: I wrote a mini review with pictures on my blog.rnSintetizzando ... rnrnDopo a happy experience of a year of Art 35 I was curious to try the new model created by Sigma, hopeful that would guarantee the same standards of grand'angolare cousin. rnHo had for years a 50 f/1.4G Nikon that I was never fully satisfied. rnIntendiamoci, is a practical and lightweight lens that shows excellent sharpness from f/2.8. At full aperture, however, missing expectations, has significant chromatic aberration and spherical and has a hysterical blur the specular reflections. this RNA, we can add that to focus with the Nikon 50 f/1.4G can be quite a feat, given the curvature of field and the drift of the fire. rnrnLe expectations for the new born Sigma were so very high, despite the focal length of 50 mm has always seemed to me a sort of middle ground does not practice between 35 and 85. rnIl sigma, abandons the classical scheme of 50mm and features a double Gauss back-focus system very similar to the proposal of Otus Zeiss. rnQuesti patterns, with many more elements, while suffering from a distinct and indispensable auchin of size and weight, they are able to provide a correct image and engraved throughout the frame. rnrnDopo a try in the store, I immediately decided to purchase having found a truly remarkable image quality. rnL'obbiettivo is solid, well-finished, with a generous hood to protect a generous first lens over 70 mm. Monta filters 77 mm. The focus ring is very doughy and practice, slightly better than the 35 Art, maybe too soft. rnih particular struck me immediately the excellent cutting edges even at close range. rnrnE 'Just one click to show his character. rnGià from this f/1.4 lens shows how the very small curvature of field and the work of sigma on the optical scheme has significant benefits in terms of sharpness and image correction. rnPersonalmente find the yield excellent bokeh. It is certainly not at the levels of optics for dairy / buttery but given the sharpness guaranteed bokeh is very neutral, and does not suffer from the specular reflections off sharply but soft floors. rnPersonalmente I also find lievementand better than the sigma 35 Art rnrnUltimo dramatically important element of the reliability of the fire. rnHo had the opportunity to try out two copies. The first, which I have not bought it, was absolutely perfect without AF fine tuning. rnSul second, I have here at home, I had to apply a correction to the dock +10 / +3 / +3 +0. rnApplicata correction I have to say that the fire is very responsive, fast and accurate, with both the central and side with ALL (on d800). rnQuesta variability of departure, however, made my copy almost unusable without the correction of the dock. rnSegnalo the dock now also offers the possibility to adjust the magnitude of the focus override, in practice the amount of movement of the focus ring to disengage the AF motor. rnrnNel complex by testing turns out to be a great lens, suitable for professional use. My intent is to use it to replace the 24-70 for use in ceremonies and corporate photography, catalogs and more. RNLA minimum focusing distanceFocus is good. rnrn

Cons: nada de nada

Opinion: arrived yesterday cinquantone of the sigmoid colon, and just mounted on 5D Mark III and Canon C100 I was immediately entranced by so much majesty, the first thought was to take the 50cc and throw it out the window, violently. Impressive distance that you can 'reach from the lens to the subject, let me do a lot of clicks particolari.rna f1.4 not miss a shot, unthinkable with 50cc used by f2 in surnuna when clicked and looked at the display, you understand why they gave this name "ART" in this series of goals, remain open-mouthed and croppando the image you realize the detail, awesome! rnpossiedo the 18/35 that I use mostly on Eos C100 and I am a god! 50mm now with this Article will be a good combination. Pros: Focus and sharpness never before seen

Cons: None ..

Opinion: A lens well done, I was amazed at the focus very fast and accurate even in low light, shooting with open aperture so is never easy but the Sigma 50mm 1.4 art makes this operation easier, the Bokeh effect is not the best ever seen but still very charming. I never had any other Sigma lenses and so I have no comparison if you've really made a quantum leap, but certainly Sigma is doing great things, I chose the purchase of ART compared to the old, not only for quality but also greater for the introduction of quality control, this ensures greater reliability in this brand that its relationship with the quality and price will give a hard time to major manufacturers .. ironically I would say that the only flaw is that it has the red ring of L-series Canon, for many that ring just aesthetically transmits an I do not know, but I am of the opinion that it is just a habit of comparing the quality of the ring.
