Pros: Versatility, stabilization, sharpness and almost all-rounder for my "doing"

Cons: Compared to the average Nikkor: heavier, consumes more battery, more bulk.

Opinion: I waited about 6 months after purchase and some testing on my "battlefields" before adding my opinion as a basic amateur photographer. In summary I am very satisfied: sold a pair of Nikkor lenses in combination with the D7500 that I thought from kit, I took two separate lenses of Sigma the 17-50 f / 2.8 and to always have the Nikon ready to use this 24-105 f / 4.0. I consider it very valid for impromptu photos on the go, with a focal length that allows me to adequately cover both the landscapes and any details; I tested it in the studio for portraiture one of my favorite fields. I was definitely amazed by its sharpness and versatility in covering the different poses, especially if you are shooting shared with tight technical times. The aperture at f/4.0 in the studio is more than enough, sometimes even at f/5.6 finding it unnecessary to go looking for generous openings that are unnecessary except in the portrait set. I also tested it on the track in Monte Carlo and even with the modest telephoto at the maximum excursion to 105mm the stabilizer did its duty by giving me clear and good images even during any cropping. Very pleasant to the touch from a sense of total robustness, excellent dislocation of the keys as well as the fluidity of the zoom and maf in manual. If I really have to go looking for cons, the Sigma 24-105 is not a featherweight and in the picnics around the neck it makes itself felt after a while, as well as its use tends to consume a little more battery than the average Nikkor lenses. The diameter of the focal length is 82mm, in the bag it does not create problems, a little more if you take away in ungenerous spaces such as small backpacks. Very satisfactory price quality for what I mean, happy with the purchase.

Pros: Have

Cons: Don't have it

Opinion: Robust optics designed to last, as you can criticize an optics for weight certainly, it is not the perfect lens but for what it costs gives excellent shots, if you want lightness do not buy a SLR or mirrorless, each lens is designed to do its job a sports tele must be fast and you have to spend or if not you have to settle, There are lenses that know how to give excellent shots without spending a capital, because then the real difference is seen only by those who do photography, perfect lenses and camera bodies do not exist if you do not know them

Pros: Stabilization, quality at F/5.6

Cons: Colors a little cold, final rendering, focus wrapped inaccurate, not sharp on all focal lengths,

Opinion: Personally, I do not agree with the quality of this view described. To have the sharpness you have to close at F / 5.6 up to F13, it suffers from diffraction so it loses sharpness by closing the Aperture. At 24mm it is very sharp but from 35 to 50 it loses a lot to recover at 70mm and a strange lens and it must be understood. I do not consider it suitable for professional and dynamic environments However a very valid optic but not as described Will it be my specimen? obviously calibrated with the appropriate duck. Mounted on a D780, D750 and D850 I preferred the Tamron 35-150mm F/2.8-4. However this sigma deserves but I was hoping for something more. Even the colors seem too cold and tends to under expose the photos, it will be my specimen but nothing to do with the 24-70 much more beautiful as well as bright!

Pros: Build quality, Photo rendering Stabilization

Cons: Perhaps the lack of tropicalization, tends to "vacuum" a little dust. At least in my model, the focus "jams" with cold temperatures

Opinion: Bought as a lens all do to combine with a Canon 6D, I had a canon 24-70 2.8 L that in some cases I was a bit short. I sacrificed the larger aperture for a longer focal length. Since that day he has become an inseparable companion of adventures and travel has never disappointed my expectations. I would have preferred it tropicalized since they are often outdoor, between trips and various trekking. Sometimes with cold temperatures, from 5 degrees down, it happens that the autofocus does not engage. You need to move the focus ring and repeat the focus in the car. Nothing transcendental. In conclusion, fully satisfied. Would buy it again

Pros: f/4 constant, stabilized, sharp in the center even at TA, fantastic focal range

Cons: Very good for (almost) every type of shot, it comes kit by itself and you can no longer remove it from the camera, the other optics are likely to mold in the closet.

Opinion: I use it with adapter on the R6, I preferred it to the original Canon EF L for price (compared to mk.2), build quality and optics (compared to mk.1). I'm very happy, it works very well and is a perfect all-rounder thanks to the wide range of focal lengths covered from wide to medium telephoto. Always very sharp in the center, on the sides it reaches its maximum by closing the diaphragm of a stop. Recommended (on ml!) without reservations.

Pros: versatile, fair price

Cons: focus that varies according to magnification and the stabilizer that changes the center of the frame

Opinion: IT HAS A DOUBLE CORE: from 24 to 50 mm it is quite homogeneous throughout the frame, useful for the landscape (the maximum of center-edge uniformity is at f 7.1, with the minimum of chromatic aberrations). from 70 to 105 great central sharpness to F4 that fades to the edges gradually, useful for making close portraits (it has the minimum distance at 45 cm). The focus is not suitable for a Video use and changes when the zoom is enlarged. The AF is slow and therefore not suitable for photos of fast-moving subjects. The stabilizer when it turns on moves you the center of the image . but it seems to do a decent job. For those who have Nikon F-mount is currently THE CHOICE. Technical notes: the softness on the extreme sides is recovered well with Stabilize Ai by Topaz, which does not regret more performing optics. On the use in PORTRAITS, I recommend reading the test https://www.nikonland.it/index.php?/articoli/test/obiettivi-sigma/sigma-24-105mm-f4-art-linsospettabile-testprova-r93/

Pros: Sharpness, compactness

Cons: Cool colors

Opinion: Goal all do high level. Its main quality as for all Art is an extreme sharpness that is a pleasure to the eyes. To be an all-rounder zoom it really has a remarkable detail at all focal lengths (it drops slightly on the longest). At 24 mm it has very little distortion. It is also very solid and compact, but the weight is felt. As for the cons, the colors are a bit too cold and in general the rendering is devoid of personality. I used it little (on Canon 6D mk II) and replaced it with the Canon 24 70 L F 2.8 Because qualitatively superior and because I realized that I do not need it for my way of shooting the focal length from 70 to 105. As for the battery I also noticed that the AF tends to work for about a minute after shooting, but on my 6D Mark ll I did not notice any engulfment of the battery itself. Ultimately a great travel handyman.

Pros: Sharp, stabilizer, colors, flare resistance

Cons: Weight, poorly balanced, tends to drain the battery of my nikon ...

Opinion: I waited a couple of years before writing this review: It is an optics almost always very sharp (excluding the extreme edges at 24 mm), which maintains the extremely natural colors, the image is three-dimensional and resists well to the Flare (I always use it with a UV filter). On the other hand, it is rather heavy and a bit squattered (i.e. much of the weight is shifted towards the front of the lens). It is an optics that adapts well to portraiture and is perfect for shooting landscapes. Compared to the world of Nikon and Canon REFLEX I think it is the best 24-105!

Pros: Solidity and build quality, sharpness in the center, quality of materials

Cons: Weight, not all specimens are the same, brittle lampshed

Opinion: Beautiful lens with the right focal range that covers all needs a bit. Good image quality with decent flare resistance and sharpness. Be careful when buying it: trying a couple of them I noticed that not everyone has the same sharpness and some tend to spread the edges. The materials are beautiful and quality and feel (especially from the weight), the lampshed instead is ridiculous and risks splitting even on the stock exchange.

Pros: Sharpness, focus accuracy, price, construction

Cons: Weight (not in fact a problem), vignetting (completely correctable in the car with a special function, or in post)

Opinion: I would like to say that I am a fan, not a professional. Lens that I have been buying new for two months, at an excellent price of 620. I needed a quality all-rounder zoom, to be combined with the D700, just purchased used, as before FF, after 4 years of the excellent D7100. I calibrated it with the usb-dock sigma (taken used online at 30e). Spectacular lens, very sharp, very good stabilizer (better than the sigma 17-50 2.8 for aps-c that I had before on the D7100). Very precise focus, even with little light. Price quality in my opinion excellent. It costs less than sigma 24-70, and having that little more zoom I need so I don't have to crop the D700's 12 megapixels. It will be the best machine body, it will be the best goal, the qualitative leap is seen. Very satisfied!

Pros: Build quality, picture quality, versatility of use, blurry, autofocus speed, stabilizer

Cons: Maybe a little bit of weight, but in the end you get used to it

Opinion: A fantastic goal, great sharpness and engraving; the colors are great! Once the focus is adjusted with the appropriate dock-usb tool, the lens becomes a blade for the very precise with which it resumes the details. It has become my main lens that I can not detach from the D750, in fact it is very versatile. A lens that I recommend for those like me looking for a quality lens to carry with them as the only travel lens but not only, in fact even in the portraits I was amazed at the quality of the blurry.

Pros: Versatility, build quality, autofocus speed, stabilizer, sharpness, blurred, contrast, colors, flare resistance, no distortion.

Cons: 24mm vignette.

Opinion: It's a real "everything do" and it does everything right. Five basic focal points in a single lens (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 105mm) allow you to do virtually any photograph. Ideal to take on the go, it allows you to face any photo release without any particular regrets. The sharpness is remarkable for a zoom. It has a very good contrast. Never had a chromatic aberration problem. The autofocus engine is fast and precise (my model showed no front/back focus problems, a problem that unfortunately afflicts many Sigma). No distortion on the entire focal excursion. Constant F4 opening. Against all odds, it has a very nice F4 blur that is able to return excellent portraits. Only neo: vignette a lot at 24mm, but the problem is easily solved in post production. Strange.

Pros: Sharpness, color fidelity, AF speed, stabilizer, build quality, price, versatility

Cons: Didn't buy it before

Opinion: For fear of incompatibility or receiving a model with focus issues, I couldn't decide on buying this lens. Then I started to suffer a bit for the short focal of my Nikon 24-70 f2.8 G , and especially for the poor performance of the 24-120 f4 Vr (always Nikon) and I took the SIGMA. What to say ... This glass made the other two INUTILI and outclassed! I'm using the SIGMA 24-105 ART on my Z6 (with adapter) and on the D850 with incredible taste and pleasure! The engraving and sharpness seem almost at the level of a fixed, the colors are natural and without dominant. The vignette (easily corrected in pp) is nothing compared to that of the 24-120 f4 Nikon! Also, I was amazed by the blurred quality that I just didn't expect from such an all-rounder lens. The weight? There's a lot of glass inside and the construction is made of metal, you can't do miracles! But I think he can sustain a nice photo trip alone in 90% of cases, without bringing other lenses. In short, this is the RE of the all-rounder for fullframe (at least in the Nikon house) and the limitation of the F4 opening does not seem significant to me with the sensitivities that have today's sensors. Highly recommended!

Pros: Toughness, perceived quality, sharpness, focus speed

Cons: Weight (but it's normal given the quality)

Opinion: Purchased a few months ago, the first impressions are great. The thing that struck me the most is the sharpness and tonal passages between light and shadow that considered it to be a zoom I did not expect so soft. At the moment I find no negative factor except the lampshade that tends to unscrew easily but maybe it is a problem of my goal.

Pros: Sharp, well built, very high price value.

Cons: the fearsome AF calibration and (perhaps) the weight

Opinion: The lens immediately offers a feeling of robustness and construction with high-end materials. the optics are very sharp but like all sigma (look here on the forum the post of friend hopaccio58) must be calibrated, and the calibration is a break of boxes with few equals. once fixed, however, it becomes a very very valuable tool. the classic never again without. I use it on the D750 and before I used it on D7200 although on APS-C, starting from 36, it was a little too long at the bottom. definitely to recommend.

Pros: Very sharp at all the focal points, excellent ergonomics and construction. Careful in detail can convey a feeling of quality.

Cons: Heavy and cumbersome.

Opinion: I bought this lens as a travel all-rounder and it became one of my studio lenses, it really seems impossible, but it's a zoom that manages to equalize the quality of many fixers that I own, it obviously doesn't have their opening, but when I shoot a portrait hardly go down under f4. I had a very good time with this lens and I recommend it to those who use a reflex and are not afraid of weight and clutter while looking for quality. I board the adapter to calibrate the focus as my specimen was very starry and showed all its skills only after a long setup session. A round of applause for Sigma, which is making extraordinary lenses at "possible" prices.

Pros: Versatility

Cons: He doesn't excel at anything

Opinion: I bought it again at a very good price, I actually have an apsc (d500) so it was a bet, and it failed, in fact I sold it to the user who made the review under mine. It's a ff... there is little to say, on apsc is "useless", I prefer the 18-140 which has fantastic value for money and much more excursion, or possibly the 16-80. And it's suitable for landscaping. Solvency and sharpness are certainly not at the highest levels, but in line with the other 24-105,perhaps a better thread, although at 24mm at full opening is a bit soft and tends to the color fringing. Autofocus silent but not suitable for sports photos. Stabilizer did not impress me, I thought better. It's a brick!! Compact and quite heavy, another reason why the 18-140 and 16-80 win over apsc. The construction will also be good and beautiful but it is not tropicalized and in my opinion some parts can fade or unpaint easily. In conclusion he is an honest "all-rounder" for ff who give the best in the landscape, and above all has few competitors, and poorer than him

Pros: Optical and construction quality af fast

Cons: You have to get used to the reverse rotation of zooming.

Opinion: In this range of focal ictocs mainly fixed optics, 24 and 35 art ,50 and 85 1.8 nikon and 2 105 .of which one macro. It was a while ago that I was considering taking a standard zoom, the 24/70 2.8 I never considered them too voluminous and heavy and a range of focals too limited especially canvas side . After reading reviews and tests I decided to take this Sigma ART also considering having a great time with the ART that I already had 12/24 ,24,35 and105 . It is little that I use it and I regret not taking it before replaces the fixers that I mentioned almost without loss of quality . The 24-point distortion is very well corrected and the Vr earns you at least three stops. The sharpness and contrast are already very good at f4 , the difference with the 25/85 Nikon at full opening is evident. I highly recommend it to those who want to take an all-rounder zoom and do not need the brightness of the fixtures. To finish I can say that it is a bit heavier and bulky than the average but it is the price to pay if you want a quality from fixed optics. Rating 9.5

Pros: solid, well done and silent

Cons: weight, inverted zoom rotation compared to sony and tamron, visibly dark corners at 24mm

Opinion: Combined with the Sony A99, great all-rounder lens for ff, excellent image quality for the price at which it lends itself, in hand looks solid and well done, silent and the flare seems to have disappeared compared to the optics I own. a little pesantuccio if you turn in the mountains or at some event, the f4 does not allow me to work well indoors with little light, but outdoors offers really formidable lights and colors.still I have not digested the wheel of the zoom that rotates in the opposite direction to all the Sony and Tamron optics (I don't know if nikon and canon rotate in that direction) but it's really annoying and makes you waste a lot of time and position of the hand. the best photos I've taken for now I've got from f8 to f11, with a really high quality. Congratulations Sigma. the focus is quiet and effective, always, not very fast though.

Pros: With my Nikon D3 an unbeatable pairing! Finally a plastic-free lens, entirely in metal and made in Japan and not in China or Malaysia; Nikon, LEARN! Taking it in hand you understand right away that you have to deal with something serious. Other than Nikon, it costs almost half of the equivalent................

Cons: Not having bought it before

Opinion: Really good stabilization; AF rapid, precise, no mistake a shot; It's a real blade. Used indoors or outdoors, little changes; If I need one more stop, just play on the ISO. Sharply, for me, superior to the Nikon 24/120 F4, tried and held for a few days as mushy and not pleasing to my liking. When I make a portrait, freehand, Croppando the file, I can count the hair of the subject. Too bad I didn't buy it before. I can compare it to the Zeiss I have on the Sony RX10 M3 and which I am very satisfied. A great goal, heavy, but very valuable. Other than Nikon 24/120......... TRY TO BELIEVE. RATED 9.6

Pros: Sharpness and resolve impressive detail, rapid and precise autofocus, blurred splendid at F4, great chromatic rendition and Microcontrast. Excellent value for money. No problem front-back focus in my copy (as I read a fortune considering how they suffer on average Sigma). Excellent stabilization. Building that looks of great quality.

Cons: A heavy cons, and I'm not finding solution: it consumes a LOT of battery. Vignetting and distortion marked at certain focal lengths, but completely resolvable in one click Via software (and it seems to me to be quite correct also in JPGs from D800).

Opinion: In some ways it's more or less one of the best lenses I remember shooting at Nikon, although I haven't tested several sacred monsters yet. But, to say, it seems to me even better than the 24-70/2.8 that I got to briefly lend me a while ago, not to mention the Nikon 24-120. And my beloved and abused 28-300 does not stand the comparison except towards F9/F10. The 50 1.4 is sharp in the same way but with much more difficult autofocus. Risolvenza detail (on the 36 mpx of D800) and sharpness are at levels to remain open-mouthed. In Some shots you don't even need to give sharpening in post beyond the little given by default from Raw Converters. In particular, it seems to me, at F 6.3/F 7.1, but up to all F9/F10. At F4 not only the sharpness seems to me more than valid, albeit slightly lower, but appear in the appropriate fuzzy conditions and bokeh that do not regret more emblazoned lenses on the subject (the bokeh has some imperfection like "Onion Ring" but it is beautiful). The stabilizer works fine, most of the shots at 105 mm are also saved at 1/15 (approx. 3 stops) and sometimes even slower. The Autofocus is fast and accurate, it goes where I want without errors, and in my copy there is no trace of front-back focus. Less than 50 mm and even more less than 35 appears a marked vignetting, small but aggressive, dark; But the software solves it in a click, and apparently I also see the firmware of the machine if you shoot jpg. Same thing for chromatic aberrations, however not particularly invasive. Let's go to the real flaw. Heavy. This Lens literally PHAGOCYTE the battery! As Several other sources have reported, it is as if it remains perpetually in operation (it is not necessary to lower the focus time from the menu C2). In the last exit, after a HUNDRED shots, the battery of the D800 had fallen to 35%! We Are talking about a battery that otherwise also holds the quadruple before falling to such a level. And I'm not particularly worn out. Given that I have not bought the USB Dock, there are currently firmware updates for Nikon, and considering that the D800 I have the latest version (1.11)... The problem is for now unsolvable! Or rather... It resolves in an uneconomical way by buying a couple of spare batteries, which I have never needed to do so far. Or by turning off the machine frequently while you are running around (risky, you risk losing shots). Patience. The game is worth the candle. Just then look at the results, and you will forgive. Rating: 9 (that would be 10 without the battery thing).

Pros: Stabilization-autofocus-build quality

Cons: A tad soft at F4 on all focal-over distortion at 24mm

Opinion: Received just today, tried and tested on Nikon 810 outdoor and home FA F4 at F/8. The stabilization is quite effective, just as I have to say the speed of focus... At 24mm expresses its best (at the center above all, at 35mm 50mm and 70mm it maintains on acceptable levels and suffers a live drop at 105... A f4 is soft on all focal lengths, dramatically improves from F5, 6 to F8... Despite its maximum aperture at F4 enjoys a discreet bokeh... I don't even dream of comparing it to the fixed of the same house 24mm 35mm 50mm 85mm 105mm... Their sharpness, despite the absence of stabilization, is unparalleled. Considering its cost €800.00 (1 year warranty) is a good compromise. Basically 5 goals in one is what to say... I'll use it on the street and on the road and will be, in this profile, I am very sure, a good companion... As soon as possible, I want to have the pleasure of adding new impressions. As I zoom all do I feel I attribute to this optics a discrete 9 dry.. Return today from Lake Maggiore and, after having squeezed this goal, I confirm what already stated and add with extreme pleasure, which at 24mm has really enchanted me and satisfied... Three-dimensionality, contrasts and significant sharpness... I rectify my 9 dry, but a nice 9.6 definitely deserves it

Pros: Sharp, robust, reliable, excellent stabilizer, excursion from real handyman, speed MAF, if calibrated properly, very precise and consistent

Cons: Distortion and vignetting but in pp it all goes ok with a click, weight, smoothness of the different zoom between the two senses, filters from 82, can cloud the lens in case of strong humidity

Opinion: I have this lens for about a year, bought used by a friend photographer French, I thought to take it for trial and pours quickly, in essence has become my favorite lens among the zooms. Sure It's an F4 so it should be used as such, but I notice it's a real bomb. I use it in sports and in marriage on 5d3 and 5d4, I calibrated it with the Sigma dock but it had not much need, but since I'm the owner of other Sigma now the dock I have it and a calibration turn I do to do all my lenses from time to time. It Has its weight obviously and the construction ART I like crazy, both to the touch and aesthetically. The chromatic aberrations are really contained and manageable as vignetting and distortion, well present at the extremes of the focal but still correctable without problems with 1 click. It Tends to have pretty saturated tones but creating the right profiles will pull out what you want. As far as I am concerned I also tested the tenacity of the weather, already in several races outdoors I took different water and did not make a wrinkle, if not in some cases, tended to cloud over the lens but it could be my fault that I cleaned it badly, I have to check it out. In Short, in my opinion if you need a zoom handyman better to ride there is really little or nothing, if you consider the price compared to the original Canon (second series, because the first is worse definitely) I would say that I would buy another 100 times. Maybe the last little flaw are the 82 filters that cost.

Pros: Sharpness, solidity

Cons: AF problematic at low temperatures. Very small focusing ring.

Opinion: I recently bought this Sigma and I immediately took it with me to Siberia in December. I do not dwell on the qualities that are already widely treated. Robust and sharp lens. To my great perplexity the autofocus was blocked at temperatures around-20, while at home it worked. I thought it was faulty, then I figured it might be the cold and I wrapped the lens in a sleeve of an old woollen sweater. In doing so I had no more problems. I think it's a viable alternative to the Canon.

Pros: Excellent definition and excursion

Cons: A little bit the weight and problems of electronic compatibility with all Nikon

Opinion: The merits of this lens are indisputable, from the image quality to the focus speed, the stabilizer works very well. But the Nikon machines do not digest very well at the level of communication between the machine and lens, so that the problems I found on d750 on the D800 d300 d5100 d7000 and others with which I tried are the same: excessive battery consumption, does not work time to Auto Standby, do not work on programmed interval photos, it will not turn off the image after a while it tripped, and on the shutter data writes stabilizer always active even if it shuts down. (Cmq the stabilizer does not come into operation if you turn off the switch) the tests were done with different objectives 24-105 and all have encountered the same problems. Even after upgrading machines and lens. In my opinion the problems are due to the fact that the optics is always active and consequently keeps the machine active. With Nikon Optics problems 0. Cmq If you choose it at the photographic level is great.

Pros: Sharpness-stabilization-focal versatility

Cons: Position of the rings-lens hood

Opinion: Bought to replace a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 I series which had broken the filter ring-I thought I would buy this lens giving up the opening of the Tammy (being fond of street and landscapes I used the aperture to f/2.8 very sporadically). To the touch from a feeling of extreme solidity. It does not have a release lever but is well-solid and the lens does not flow unless applying a certain pressure. Tested at an event in my area and with a micrometric ruler does not have front/back focus problems. The weight feels. The focal range from 24 to 105 mm makes it a real handyman for travel. The trumpet is 82mm, so recycle all of the Tammy's filters. The stabilizer is silent and effective. Of a hundred photos taken does not seem to me wrong even a focus. Vignetting and chromatic aberration are not noteworthy and in any case perfectly corregible. Nice Bokeh. Faults-the hood folded backwards does not allow zooming, similar to the 70-200 that I already own; The focus ring is on the side of the camera body, zooming from the side of the lens... you get used to it but at the beginning it's "molesta" paid roughly €800, overall an excellent lens and the unbeatable value for money.

Pros: Quality, sharpness, stabilization

Cons: weight, size, battery consumption

Opinion: Very good optics in all respects (vote 9): used on Nikon D800, already at f4 shows excellent sharpness throughout the frame and a nice contrast, the stabilization is always very effective and the focus very fast. My model, purchased second-hand, on my machine body did not need any calibration of the autofocus, however it has a slight tendency to overexpanify: about 1/3 of diaphragm, but nothing that can not be corrected in pp. I took it to replace a highly exploited Nikon 24-120 f4 (well over 100,000 shots) that because of some excessive mistreatment no longer convinced me how sharpness; it is in fact that the difference I saw immediately compared to the last images of 24-120, while, it is not so marked compared to the photos taken years before with Nikon. To the question: "Nikon or Sigma?" honestly, I could not give a preference, the Sigma looks a little sharper at full opening, and also has a nice blur, but it is very big, heavy, and stops at 105, the Nikon is nearby for sharpness, the stabilization seems to me equivalent (perhaps a hair better the sigma), the autofocus is just slower than the Sigma, but it is lighter, less cumbersome and comes to 120 (it is little, but does). I confirm the compatibility issues of its firmware with Nikon bodies, as explained above by Giovanni1976; in essence the machine - any nikon, at least until the D850 - never goes into standby, this involves an abnormal and sensitive consumption of batteries and due to consumption, the practical inability to use it for time-lapses. As for Nikon, even for Sigma I can not talk about the distortion because I do not care, while the chromatic aberrations are irrelevant on a practical level, and the whole thing is safely correctable in PP with the right STs (I use DxO). These are all minimal differences that on optics from reportage like these (great for the purpose), in the end they are lost in the inaccuracies of recovery that in fact pave the way for merits and defects. These consumer optics do not have production processes with a quality worthy of a Leica perspective, so the defect always 'looms', perhaps justified by the breadth of tolerances on specifications. The key to it all lies in the luck of finding the right specimen (fundamental: try it well before buying it). So, the most concrete thing I want to write is: good luck.

Pros: Build quality, aesthetics, F4 at all focal lengths, stabilizer, sharpness

Cons: Usual problems F/b Focus Sigma, distortion and vignetting more or less at all focal

Opinion: Taken to accompany me around like handyman. Immediately discovered the usual problems of F/b focus unresolved in the room but only after purchasing the USB dock separately. A hassle but I had previously put into account. Apart from that the lens is very solid and built very well, a real tank. I also like it very aesthetically and for the weight, which is true that it makes you feel, but that from a feeling of professional optics. Maybe a little hard scrolling the zoom, I hope because new. Some time ago I had the Nikkor 24-120 VR that I do not regret. I never really liked it. This has the sharpness and definition I was looking for, though rather concentrated in the central area. Vote 10 for the stabilizer, really remarkable! One of the most effective stabilizers that ever happened to me. What I do not like is the obvious barrel distortion at 24, 35mm and bearing after, up to 105. In short it is, in one way or another always quite obvious. As on the other hand the vignetting, but in my opinion, is less annoying than in 24-120. In any case a solid, fast and reliable lens I'm very happy with. Very recommended!

Pros: Build quality, focus speed, sharpness.

Cons: Very hard lens hood in the final block shot

Opinion: I stumbled upon an "unfortunate" model, immediately returned, with an obvious problem to the stabilizer that blew the lens on the long exposures (on OFF). The second lens is perfect instead. Very versatile, yes vignette slightly fine especially at 24mm F4, but in certain situations I think it can also be an interesting aspect. Quick and precise focusing, lens coupled with Canon 6d M II. If I really have to find a cons I would say that the lens hood in the final shot of its grafting in and definitely too hard, will be why new? implies a torsion force on the zoom of the lens not indifferent. Build quality and excellent results at a good price.

Pros: Versatility, sharpness already at TA, speed MAF, blurred, colour rendition faithful, pleasant to the touch...

Cons: In certain situations "vignette" lightly, the weight (but the quality "weighs"...)

Opinion: Premise Duty: I was biased towards the Sigma, so far all 4 of the optics I had taken had always had problems of F/B focus, not correctable in the room and therefore my despite I always had to return, "folding" (it is to say...;)) on Original optics of Canon mom. When I took it (in Test...) I had already had as many as 2 copies of the counterpart Canon I version and in both cases (I will have been particularly lame...) I was disappointed: poor sharpness, af not up to an original optics, blurred better to let loose ... Not being a "range" by me much used (mainly shooting sports then with "long" lenses) I did not mean in this case spend too much to take the new canon, so I had taken the excellent 24-70 F/4 canon, sharp, fast, light, etc. just that in Too many occasions was short... those 35mm more would have made me comfortable and then, when they proposed to try it without any commitment for a few days, I took advantage, convinced that would have made the same end of his predecessors... Instead, to my surprise, not only the optics in question did not manifest any problem of F/B focus, but using it in various situations, from closed for events to motor shows, the more I used it and more I liked! I already wrote my impressions on the "pros", that "pleasing to the touch" is everything, it seems to use a perspective of the years that were, heavy yes, but the build quality is there and you feel in this case in the weight. I mean, I liked it and I like it more and more, it has a nice blur, TA you get a three-dimensionality and a detachment of the foreground subject worthy of much more expensive optics, as is faithful the color rendition (someone says that the colors are slightly Cold, it doesn't seem to me but I don't exclude it). Only flaw, but easily correctable in PP; In certain situations vignette (but also vignettavano the 2 Canon "old", I do not know the new because I have never tried) and for someone the weight, but as said before I do not consider it a problem, accustomed to turn with heavy optics, when I mount the "Fifty" I always fear Having forgotten the target, so its weight "reassures me." I took it in physical store to less than 700 euros with 3 years of official mtrading warranty, I think it's worth them all and even more!

Pros: Sharp, excellent Maf without calibration (for a Sigma !!!), stabilizer

Cons: Perhaps the weight

Opinion: A step away from the sale because I thought I could find better in a brighter lens, I got to "stress" this lens during a friend's event and I can say that I completely fell in love (but the Sigma are in my heart !!) . It 's true a little bit heavy and that F4 maybe knows the limit, but I assure you that for an amateur like me find myself with a lot of shots made quickly and ALL in focus (even with little light, thanks stabilizer) is something excellent. Sharp to be scary, colors quite faithful to the original (someone claimed that they were a little cold), I can not help but say that I found my "handyman" .... and I will not take it away anymore!

Pros: Construction quality, veratility

Cons: Weight, dimensions, af slow coupled with the mc11 adapter

Opinion: I used it for a year on both the canon 760d and the sony a7II. As soon as the shopkeeper pulled it out of the box, I felt like not buying it anymore, given the size and weight. Used on the Canon did not do wonders, in the sense that it could not eliminate the heavy chromatic aberrations of that sensor, a surrender then in the complexno not exciting, discreet stabilizer, autofocus sufficient in one shot but too slow in af continuous, good color rendering, sharpness conditioned by the aberration of which rnsopra. Used on the sony obviously the sharpness was excellent and the aberrations disappeared, but the mc11 adapter prevented the continuous af. The size and weight made it ridiculous compared to the body of the A7II everything was unbalanced and manageable with difficulty. In short, a lens with which I have never found, plus compared to the old28 / 70 c / y (9 lenses) is not that it was so superior, in the end I gave it in exchange for 16/35 f4 sony (zeiss ). Rated 7, personallyI advise against the purchase of weight and dimensions, with the current technology and with the cost that digital lenses must be lighter and easier to handle.

Pros: Sharpness, build quality, versatility

Cons: Weight, AF to be adjusted

Opinion: Good lens for ff, versatile, excellent construction and at an acceptable price. Excellent stabilization and very clear. The weight is remarkable, it makes you feel traveling. As sometimes happens with the objectives Sigma goes a moment calibrated the mf on some specimens, problem solvable in the car itself but boring at the beginning. Filters 82mm expensive but that I share with tokina 17-35 so personally becomes a pro. Preferred to the competition given the remarkable sharpness

Pros: Excellent stabilizer (see my test on my profile), sharpness already at TA, super build quality, speed of focus

Cons: 82 mm filters and weight

Opinion: I have been using this lens for several years now on APS-C. Tested in all situations. Great lens. The sharpness is very good, the exceptional stabilizer with a very fast focus. Occasionally (rarely) I've had back-focus problems. The lens is made of metal alloys, weighs a little but the quality is really good. Too bad for the 82 mm filters. Beautiful big. AF / 8 brings out the best in itself. I feel really good. Comparing it with the cousin Nikon (24-120) the difference in weight is felt (in favor of the Nikkor) but the external quality of the lens does not question itself. It has the reverse rotation of the zoom ring on Nikon, but you get used to it quickly. I recommend it.rn

Pros: Great stabilizer. Colors and sharpness

Cons: Vignette or loss of light at the edge 4 to decrease to 5.6 on all focal lengths

Opinion: Great everything to travel by taking used quality and price. Vignette a bit but it just takes one click, as far as I can see the weight and nothing to say because I knew already what I was meeting and the d700 is weighing very well. so for me it's a good compromise then around there is not much better than some canonists I've heard it is slightly higher than canon 24 -105 ...

Pros: Construction, nitidetta, stabilizer, autofocus speed

Cons: reverse rotation zoom ring on nikon, you need the dock for calibration of focus, weight

Opinion: I was torn between the Nikon 24-120 and this sigma, in the end I opted for the sigma for his greater sharpness reported in almost all reviews. The import price with 2 years warranty is virtually identical. The lens is very well built, better than how you see it in pictures. I personally think is very sharp and has a very blurry piacevole.rnIl USB dock is a must to bring out the best from this glass. Pros: Excellent already at F4, distortion acceptable 24mm, quality at all focal lengths.

Cons: It is not weather sealed, no lightweight, filtrida 82mm.

Opinion: Bought I got to try it well recently during a weekend dedicated to the sun pictures and I'm really satisfied, is a true "all-rounder" has a stabilizer that works well and in silence, resistance to zooming denouncing some non Eun problem in my opinion , the image quality is very high with faithful color, sharpness from corner to corner already at f4 at all focal lengths. Unless match claims by super blurry I would say that is a great reason to spend. I would say that has nothing to envy to Canon except tropicalization, but it costs almost half.

Pros: excellent construction, overall quality, and af stabilizer excellent

Cons: Vignetting F4, front-clear focus but solved with machine calibration

Opinion: I own this lens for about a month, with a Nikon D810. Preferred to 24-120 of the Japanese home, I immediately realized that he had made a great choice. Out of the box gives a feeling of solidity and strength. Offers qualitatively very sharp images (after I calibrated the AF which I'll discuss later) at all focal lengths, even at full aperture. Cartoon a lot in this situation, particularly to 24mm but is corrected in one click and much better chromatic aberration that plagues Nikon, practically absent here. Excellent also the hood that engages in a safe and stable to lente.rnL'unica found flaw was an obvious front-focus, with the focus placed chart and calibrating the lens in the car ... the increase in performance has been evident and even photos that previously seemed sharp as they have become even more so, considering the crop at 100%. therefore recommend checking the calibration, as should always be done properly to avoid exploiting the lenses 60% .rnrnrnrn

Pros: Massive, beautifully finished, low-dispersion lenses, no stretching of the lower lens. AF accurately and without hesitation. quiet and efficient stabilizer. construction quality at the top.

Cons: Zooming a bit 'harder and in a bit heavier than the Canon.

Opinion: INTRODUCTION: some images to a new folder in my profile. RN29 May 2016 - First day of real use on 6D, the passage of the Tour of Italy close to home. hot impressions: zooming "harder" than the Canon L series before that I had, but added advantage of not lengthening the lens when holding down (and it is no small thing), sharp images even for low dispersion lenses. Overcast and cloudy, natural colors and well made, AF also valid in the second half of incoming cyclists, although I stoner times since with rising 1/160 was moved ... rn Massif, well done, quiet, heavy the right, it seems a good choice. Pros: Build quality, AF and excellent stabilization, clarity even in Tarn

Cons: Vignetting at 24mm species and TA, evident in the Long exp. Filters 82mm

Opinion: I bought this 24-105 f4 zoom lens series Art as "handyman" and I am very pleased, for all aspects described, excellent build quality, it also feels the weight, AF and excellent stabilization, high clarity and very good even at TA . Great combination with sensors demanding of FF as the D750 or D810. The only cons that I found, however, clearly known by the tests, the vignetting is quite pronounced species to 24mm and TA, which is evident especially in the Long exp. Nothing that is not correctable PP, mind you. The filters are less common of the classic 82mm 77mm, but is a dimension whose costs differ by a few Euros from 77mm. I highly recommend you join only high quality filters (for example Hoya HD or higher). It 'a whole zooming versatile, high quality, that will not make you regret the fixed unless there serves an opening over f4, then valid in all situations, from the tourist to pose room, where you will appreciate its TOF and its sharpness, as focal perfectly matches the Full Frame from wide angle to medium tele.rn
