Pros: Good build quality, compactness, sharpness (center)

Cons: Front/back focus issues (on my specimen), sharpness drop at the edges, lampshed, zoom with reverse rotation

Opinion: Of the many lenses I've had, even Sigma, this is the one I liked the least. What undoubtedly determines my opinion is the fact that I probably came across a defective specimen, but even after the AF problems of my specimen, the judgment would not have been very positive. My specimen immediately manifested obvious and persistent problems of focus (front/back focus) on my Nikon D500, which remained unresolved even after dozens of attempts at calibration via USB dock. I could have had it calibrated by sigma labs, but I finally chose to make it. In addition to this problem, however, I did not crazy the drop in sharpness at the edges (very good in the center, instead), the availability of the F2.8 only up to 22mm, the bad plastic lampshed and the zoom with rotation in the opposite direction compared to nikon lenses. Too bad, because in general the lens seems to have a good constructive quality and good yield potential.

Pros: Compact ,all in One, sharpness.

Cons: The cap that needs to be hooked carefully. A little heavy.

Opinion: So I had it for a while and I was satisfied, the day before yesterday I found myself, photographing a wedding. With a single lens you can do everything you focus on what you are combining and nn distracts you, maybe he lacks a little brightness for that type of use, but with two flashes I ticked it off anyway. In reference to the brightness we can also say that maybe yes, it is a bit dark for a wedding, but stabilization allows you to recover.. Let's talk about weight , maybe it is a bit heavy, but I would say that it is designed for an entry level with the other problems nn there are ... Sharpness? it's about closing a little bit, if you're looking for it. What else? what do I use it with? Nikon D7200... For the record I'm not electing him to a Matrimonialist lens and i don't allow myself to say that it is equal to a 2.8 lens or a prime Lens ,but for the expense, I would say that you make a good deal.

Pros: opening of the diaphragm, weight, small size, internal stabilizer

Cons: remains little with opening of the diaphragm at 2.8, lampshade

Opinion: I have a nikon D5300 and I bought this lens instead of what they give you in the kit, namely a nikon 18-55 mm, which broke after 5 months of use. between the two can not be compared because even if the focal is more or less have different materials, different lenses and the opening of the diaphragm is greater. This lens I use both for taking landscape photos and for portraits and I have to say that in both cases he makes great photos. the dark environments are not his forte because even if at 17 mm it has a diaphragm opening of 2.8 as soon as you increase the focus even to 30 mm immediately steps to an opening greater than 3 and as a result you have to raise the shooting time and have a tripod. The lampshade even if it is not of a resistance material is very useful and compact. the focus is not the fastest but still it is quite fast although in the evening more than a few times I was forced to put the manual focus because it could not find any subjects and therefore the dial kept spinning. another defect of autofocus occurs when shooting because you hear the dial in the audio.

Pros: Size and weight, good quality handyman, build quality, AF, brightness.

Cons: Front lens cap.

Opinion: It's the lens that I chose as an all-rounder on my 100D because it has a focal range that allows you to do everything while maintaining a good overall image quality, it is light and very compact, it has a great focus (my model had no front problems/ back focus) and is sharp especially in the center, a little more "pasty" at the edges. At the level of files produced I did not find any particular problems of chromatic aberrations or distortions, in case in a few clicks they are easily eliminated with any post-production program. Ultimately for lighter outputs is the inseparable companion. Only flaw (compared with the build quality of the lens) in my opinion is the front cap that protects the lens, is difficult to hook at the first shot and tends to release too easily, they could do better.

Pros: Good sharpness in the center at each focal, precise autofocus (once calibrated) and quick, robust construction, compatibility with Sigma's USB-dock

Cons: Front cap and non-excellent quality lampshade, f/2.8 aperture only up to about 22 mm, reverse zoom wheel rotation, maf dial too thin

Opinion: Purchased new to replace the efficient but outdated Pentax 17-70 f/4, at the moment I can confirm all the merits described in the other reviews. The optics are very handy despite the fairly voluminous front lens, and as usual Sigma the materials are simple but well assembled and give a pleasant feeling of robustness. They scan the front cap and the lampshade, decidedly cheap and a bit "pulled away". Optical qualities are out of the question. In the middle the sharpness is very good even at full opening and a bit to all the focal points. It goes without saying that at 18 mm to f/2.8 the angles necessarily can not be very engraved (for that there is the series "Art"), but if you close to f/5.6 everything goes in place and you can count on a sharp frame up to the edges. Note that, although not a macro in the strict sense of the word, it allows you to get very close to the subject, just enough to get very interesting and impressive shots. The autofocus is quite quick and above all accurate, but I recommend investing a few extra money in the purchase of Sigma's USB-dock, you won't regret it. You'll lose a little time but in the end you'll have a very precise focus at all the focal points and for all distances. By the way, the focus dial is well braked but is quite thin and impractical for those with large hands, also it is unusable with the paralamp mounted backwards. You also have to be careful because in autofocus wheel, so it can be hindered by the fingers that support the goal. Finally you have to get used to the zoom dial that rotates in the opposite direction to the various Pentax, Nikon, Tamron, etc. It is still a lens that is worth every penny spent, it is the right choice if you want an all-rounder who gives you quality shots traveling light. Pros: Lightness, brightness. Sharpness

Cons: Having sold it

Opinion: It was my first lens on digital camera. Together with the 100 macro the best. I photographed half of Spain and Holland. He never missed a shot. Fast focus, quiet stabilizer. Light but solid and compact. Even in macro it defends very well with good close ups. I used it both on Canon 600 D and on 60 D. Sharp already to TA is a great lens that I feel I suggest. Unfortunately I sold it but sooner or later will return. I really regret it. Mariangela

Pros: Sharpness, light, compact

Cons: I have nothing

Opinion: I replaced the Canon 18-55 is STM and I took this lens, L found it used here in my areas and I've been using it for 3 weeks, the last two photos I made in the galleries and those made in Brescia are proof that it is a great target. The photos I made in the Subway of Brescia are wonderful, these days via the USB Sigma Dock I have also updated the firmware to the version 2.0.Vi tell as it goes greetings to all

Pros: Small and compact lens, warm enough colors, excellent sharpness, almost macro

Cons: "Backwards" zoom ring, low quality lens cap

Opinion: I had already tried it at the time of D7100 but had not convinced me, so much so that I had resolute shortly after. But then with the D7500 I was able to try it again thanks to a friend and I convinced myself to buy it back. It's a really great handyman. The focus is lightning fast and the stabilizer, for other very effective, does not feel. At the maximum opening something loses at the edges but nothing worrying. A F/5.6 is a blade at each focal length. If you need a travel lens, small and well defined in my opinion this is the best, considering the value for money adding also the non-indifferent factor "weight". Only downside the zoom ring: At the beginning especially if you are accustomed to Nikkor or Tamron there is to be displaced because it turns... on the contrary. Finally the cap of the front lens is really poor in relation to everything else.

Pros: Practical and bright (good focal excursion)

Cons: Nothing in particular

Opinion: I got it at the beginning of the year (for having "lost" the Canon 17-55 2.8)-Actually I forgot it for a little in a site in the mountains and when I got back on the spot it was gone-I'd say almost there, this is also lighter-for now I have used it for landscapes both mountain CH And to the sea in addition to some portrait and I would say that fits well for every situation the colors I find balanced-I use it on Canon 70 D-

Pros: Construction, sharpening, hiking, Macro

Cons: Stabilizer a little noisy (?)

Opinion: I state that I am not an expert in photography but felt the need for a "something more" for my Canon EOS 800d. So I decided to retired the discreet 18-55 provided in the kit and buy this Sigma. The quality jump justified the price paid! Only flaw, in my opinion, the stabilizer that sometimes makes move the lenses in the viewfinder and makes a slight noise (maybe a little "defective" my copy purchased on Amazon?) but overall, in three months of ownership, I find myself very happy!

Pros: Sharpness, build quality, focal length.

Cons: Nothing, at least for me.

Opinion: Great lens, high build quality and excellent materials. Equipped with a stabilizer is very accurate. Useful as a "generalist" lens with a good zoom range that allows you to photograph in both wide angle that medium telephoto. Bought used and consumed by a year never gave problems. Of an entirely different level than similar optical kit. Used with Nikon D7200.

Pros: Sharpness, quality of materials, focal range

Cons: Af to adjust well

Opinion: Good lens, very versatile and clear. Weight in the norm, good quality of the materials, and excellent stabilization. Discrete photos in macro that I used infrequently. It is an excellent travel lens that often allows you to face the whole day without changing your goal. Less bright than the competition but more versatile, so I preferred it. As sometimes happens with the objectives Sigma goes a moment calibrated the 'Af on some specimens, problem solvable in the car itself but boring at the beginning.rn

Pros: Size, construction, excursion, colors, price.

Cons: Less bright than what you might think, F/B focus problems, poor optically wide-angle side.

Opinion: Very sharp from 24 onwards, low to 17 mm especially at the edges. Loses 2.8 to 21 mm and 50 mm is already f/4: It is less bright than what you think. Mounted on Canon I had to get it calibrated. The barrel tends to lengthen. Very compact in size, is built well and is lightweight, this allows you to carry it around without any problems. The focal excursion is great for landscape photos and the sharpness at the bottom is not lacking. Compared to the kit lens the color rendition is less cold and more realistic. The macro function is nice, even though we're far from a real macro. The minimum focusing distance is however very good. The AF is fast and also allows some sporty shots. Overall recommended, although optically it is less than the Brother 17-50 F/2.8.

Pros: Dimensions, robustness, sharpness, focal range

Cons: Almost nothing...

Opinion: Great handyman goal for performance - price ratio. Sharp, fast AF, fairly bright. I use it on the D7200 and it's compact and robust. Much versatile goes from portraits, to landscapes, to street and interior, without any big problems. Good color hold even in backlight. Sigma snoops a bit in defining it as Macro but actually also photographs it from 20 cm. Better than the 18-55 in the Nikon kit, it has more gear and not just for the range! Satisfied!!

Pros: Weight, vividness of colors, macro, sharpness, versatility, stabilized, brightness

Cons: Lightweight 70mm sharpness loss

Opinion: I bought this lens as a handyman replacing the 18-55 nikkor on my nikon D5200. You immediately perceive the solidity and the lens manufacturing. He's really a great all-rounder. I use it for travel photos, events, street and even sports. Good for macro photos thanks to the very limited focus distance (it does not allow small insects to be captured but still captures images like flowers, details and details). Very good color rendering. It is highly advised for those who like me want to take a step forward in the classical kit kit and for those who love to take pictures during travel. Being my first sigma lens I really got it, promoted to full marks!

Pros: Sharpness, image quality and lens construction, versatile

Cons: Light vignetting and quality reduction at 17 mm

Opinion: I have decided to invest in this lens to replace the 18-55s, alongside a Canon 1300d. From now on, the different construction quality is perceived: it is a robust lens, built with quality materials; this affects the weight that is significantly higher, but it is a small compromise that I will gladly accept. In my opinion ideal for travel, from sea to mountain to city trip has always been faithful ally. In addition to landscapes and portraits, it also offers some satisfaction for macro photography. It is silent and fast, much brighter than the 18-55 of the kit ... in short a nice improvement for those like me is at the beginning.rn 17 mm you notice a slight vignetting and towards the edges of the image you notice a slight loss of quality. The first one is easily resolved in PP.rnI really happy with this lens and I would recommend to anyone who wants to retire the lens 18-55 in the kit.

Pros: Image quality, Focal range

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I use it for the type of photography that I like the most, that is street. I bought it after verifying that 90% of the photos I was shooting was done with focal length under 80, so I do 18-200 or 18-250 I did not polite. Comparison to certain other lenses from kit (18-55 Nikon) is really great. I use it coupled with the 10-20 (always Sigma) on a D7000 and qualitatively the photographs are great.

Pros: Sharpness, Versatile, Stabilized, Macro, Zoom Lock

Cons: In my opinion no one

Opinion: It is a lens that I really enjoy, I consider it truly versatile, it is great for landscapes, portraiture, gorgeous for macros, and also used successfully in the street. It has an exceptional sharpness, an amazing color rendition, a soft blur that I love in portraits. Rn I've used it with my D7200 and the pair has proven to be just a win, both in balance and in practicality. I've become my "all done" now. It is highly recommended to those who want to make a next step and close the kits' targets.

Pros: Handy, versatile, crisp, value for money, brilliant colors

Cons: So far I have not found it, perhaps the fact that the zoom ring rotates in the opposite direction, but certainly not a problem.

Opinion: I have bought this goal to replace the good old 18-55 dearest of my previous D3200. Now I mount it on the D500 and it goes that is a miracle. As far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing to do, balanced and covers the major focal points used when leaving without wanting to carry too much weight behind. The presence of the stabilizer is very comfortable, especially in low light, I found it very good. The lens is silent, AF fast enough, no Back & Front Focus. The hood is well-balanced to the lens. I bought it without the USB dock as it does not need it at the moment. Only "neo", if so we want to call it? The fact that if the function "shows the photo taken after the shot" is activated, unlike the other lenses, the photo remains for about 60 seconds on the screen instead of the 4 sec canons ... but just press the button Click to solve the "problem". I have read the same thing for other machines such as seriesD7xxx and some D5xxx. SIGMA will probably fix this "timer" with the next firmware (so the DOC will need to be upgraded) ... otherwise it will certainly not be a problem this "neo" .rn The 17mm distortion is clearly there but it resolves Easily in post-production, and with regard to clarity, closed to f4 is really great ... it's also convenient to take "macro" pictures even if the ratio will never be 1: 1 as for true macros targets clearly. Rn For the rest, I recommend this as an excellent upgrading of kit 18-55, furthermore 2.8-4 diaphragm is very comfortable with low light. Rn

Pros: Balanced objective in yield and cost.

Cons: Maybe a bit heavy.

Opinion: Used on a Pentax K10D honestly works with the best results between 35 and 50mm and the f5.6 aperture is the most consistent. Also good from 24 to 70mm Considered the cost you can not expect a 2.8 on the whole range even if on the 70mm that in apsc correspond to 105mm in ff 2.8 would be more useful for the portraits. 17mm at All Opening has an excessive vignetting and a chromatic aberration always with the 17mm going from TA to 5.6

avatarjunior
sent on June 19, 2017

Pros: Versatility, sturdiness, adequate size, reasonable price...

Cons: A little something but nothing tragic...

Opinion: Bought a few days to replace the albeit acceptable AF-P 18/55 found in kits with the Nikon D5500 after a long runoff with the Nikkor 16/80 (really too expensive to be just DX). The first sensation is that of a "more photographer" instrument than that of the kit with nice dimensions, weight and aesthetics. Although I have not yet tried to the end I must say I have not regretted the purchase, indeed... has a good sharpness, beautiful colors certainly not turned off, an adequate focal length thanks to which it shows a good "handyman" and a dignified opening of the Diaphragm (f 2.8/4) sufficient for daily use. Well after the merits touches the flaws... I noticed a certain difficulty in focusing in low light, some chromatic aberration, a bit of flare in addition to the possibility that the lens extends alone towards the maximum focal (for honesty I have to Say that holding the machine around the neck while moving I have not noticed big problems but if you put it upside down and you shake it a little is not so "stopped"). I had read a few comments strongly negative about the distortion especially at 17 mm but, maybe because I still have not squeezed too much, I have not detected any particular flaws... Anyway if you want something compact, from the discrete potential and that does not cost a salary I can only recommend this Sigma 17/70 Contemporary... with good peace of my original lightning strike (Nikkor 16/80) not so much better according to the tests of Lenstip...

Pros: brilliant color, brightness, sharpness, quality / price ratio

Cons: some uncertainty in the night pictures

Opinion: I replaced it with this sigma The Nikkor 18-105 vr. I found a marked improvement on shooting performance of my Nikon D5300. The aim is quiet, fast and gives high impact images. Very clear improvement in terms of brightness, sharpness, brightness, and color fidelity. really contained aberrations. The remarkable ability of being able to shoot macros. Pros: almost perfect

Cons: After shooting the display remains displayed photos.

Opinion: Being a fotopasticcione the opinion that I can provide not think is very "reliable" first SLR Nikon D3300 kit with a 18/55, so I consider this a great step forward. In spite of that I did not give 10 for a simple reason, after you take the photo preview on the display disappears after a few seconds, but it remains until you press a button. Apart from this little bug I definitely recommend it.

Pros: excellent optics, razor sharp and bright

Cons: FOr what it costs NOTHING

Opinion: I write this review after reading that there are people who equates the Nikon 18-55 at Sigma 17-70C ... I find this absolutely false allegation. Excellent sharpness, very similar to fixed lenses like the Nikon 35G or 50G, effective VR, EXCELLENT bokeh, possibility of macro. RNLA brightness is obviously limited, but it is a zoom, and have fixed apertures in this range, you have to spend three times.

Pros: INTRODUCTION, USE APS-C: robust build quality, great focal range, crisp, vr, the macro is a huge bonus, a handyman in the true sense of the word, sigma colors that I like very much. Three-dimensionality to the first focal. PERFECT AS A HANDYMAN, returns photos that definitely will not regret it, af fast

Cons: f 2.8 not fixed (it is not as bright as you'd expect), af wrong shots in the dark, blurred not like - a bit rough - that makes quite neutral pictures, without giving the "creaminess" and "depth" that I expected (ergo do not recommend it for portraits), some vignetting, distortion at 17mm, zoom "in reverse", plastic hood, TA does not convince me, vr not so great but it works ... I expected better! I found few differences from 18-55 vrii nikon from kits except in color

Opinion: I state that I am not a professional, my work is more of the video and use Nikon D5300 ... I HAVE tested in various situations. At first impression, I was immediately very disappointed with this objective on which I have spent all my savings, but that in some ways I do not find so far from the Nikkor 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 AF-S (the one to speak kit ) - indeed, in some cases the second came out the winner. Only difference: the first € 360, € 30 in the second kit. 17-70 This does not convince me, distortion, vignetting and soft at room temperature, only plus 2.8 with which you can accentuate a detachment of the very pleasant and helpful to the first focal planes, but nonetheless we do not do much because the diaphragm closes immediately (22 / 24mm). 30 to 50 continues to close inexorably (50mm = max f / 3.8). A 70 soft at room temperature and little detail, detachment of hard floors. The Nikon AF-S DX 55-200mm f / 4-5.6 G VR VRI (80 € used) has a decidedly more pleasant blur. Recommended as a handyman, evenif it does not have much to envy to 18-55 from the kit if the focal first I found it very enjoyable, despite some distortion.

Pros: excellent

Cons: anything

Opinion: more than an opinion, ask if this sigma 17-70 and can also be mounted on the Nikon full frame. I for now I use the Nikon D7100, but also having the d610e the d750 would prefer also to exploit it with the latter two, if there is someone who can give me the answer, I'd be very grateful. Pros: Brightness, not very heavy, well built, compact and light enough.

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Excellent lens, from good performance on my Nikon d7200, well-proportioned with the machine. There are no problems of any nature (front-back focus and company to Trump). The stabilizer works very well and also allows you to make discreet shots even in macro. It ' true that the attachment of the lens cap, with hood mounted, is a little ' difficult, but I can safely fly over this trifle, seen the shots that it returns. What about......... I highly recommend the purchase.

Pros: Brightness, excellent range, robust

Cons: Nothing special, maybe a little "big" in the complex meaning that presents more FX measures by DX

Opinion: Great goal. Ever since I got it and almost always mounted on the D7200. Versatile photo from landscape to macro (well! Say ups but only for the fact that 70mm is little for a real magnification), from portrait. I have not noticed any problem focus, aberration or vignetting. When I bought the equivalent Nikon (the 16-80) it did not exist but now there have no incentive to change it. The brightness is also excellent for poorly lit interiors (of course better if in the 17mm). Great VR. Against .. little stuff, the hard lens cap to be inserted with a lens inserted (already changed with a generic 72mm), the very soft manual focus ring (but I still do not yet lost the selected settings).

Pros: hike, price stabilizer, sharpness, speed AF, the AF adjustment possibility with USB header, almost a true macro, construction and accessories supplied

Cons: not light, zoom ring a little 'hard, with lens hood (shot) you can not focus manually (but is a little thing)

Opinion: recently purchased at an excellent price with base included. what to say? I'm finding it really well. compared with the 18-55 kit is a remarkable leap !! excellent tour, covering all focal normally use and if coupled with a 70-300 consider yourself a place for a while '. Obviously I speak for me as a neofita.rnadoro the chance to focus just 22cm throughout the zoom range, you can do macro very beautiful without necessarily having a lens specifico.rnle photos are good, obviously a little ' defect is and especially from 17 to 28 mm in TA; but already turning a bit 'the diaphragm has a sharpening notevole.rnconsigliatissimo for those who need to make a whole, on a budget and want a comfortable and functional purpose.

Pros: A good zoom range, robust, clear, bright, light, compact, stable, fast and accurate autofocus, even good price.

Cons: The plug-in plastic hood is a little hard, not the prime lens.

Opinion: Using this lens as a handyman on my D90 and D7100, is light and moves well around, zoom range and brightness make it in my opinion a great lens luggage, the stabilizer is really great, the aperture where the 'objective gives maximum and from f / 5.6 to f / 8. Pros: zoom range, strength, sharpness, brightness, excellent stabilizer

Cons: no fixed iris (but you can not have everything)

Opinion: very funny goal, the use of 600d, the zoom range and brightness (not at the top of course but still good) make in my opinion a great goal from traveling or to use in any situation where you can not change often aim , the stabilizer is really good, in the evening I went down a lot like shutter speeds without the need for tripods and shake-free, really recommend it especially given the excellent value for money

Pros: Lightweight, compact, stable, fast and accurate autofocus, price

Cons: Plug plastic hood a little hard

Opinion: Use this goal by a year as a handyman on the D7100. And 'light and moves well around, compact and therefore takes up little space, the focus is precise and quick, stabilization allows you to take virtually always free hand during the day. Therefore, despite not having the 2.8 constant aperture, I prefer it to the various universal 17-50 and 17-55. Even liken it then to the Nikon 17-55 2.8, because it is useless to compare pro perspective that costs four times as much, but that certainly is not practical as this (the areas of use are too different)! To date, as a handyman it is unbeatable, and that those in more than 15mm in length make a difference. Besides the shots have a good yield is of details that color, and where it takes more than "full-bodied" just work (not too much later) in post production.

Pros: Brightness, construction and stabilizer, excellent color rendering. Macro.

Cons: Had it been a fixed f2.8 would be the top

Opinion: I use it for several months in different conditions from day to night indoors and outdoors and has always behaved well even if the fixed 2.8 would make it perfect. However I think it is a handyman superior saw the price of used and very accessible especially the incredible focus from 20 cm to situations in macro. Excellent stabilizer and minimum vignettatura.rnSigma is making very slow competitive.rn

Pros: Construction, sharpness, autofocus very fast and accurate stabilization, competitive price

Cons: A little weak at the extreme edges of sharpness in the range between 17mm and 24mm

Opinion: I purchased this light at the end of 2014 and I can be very satisfied, at present the use of a Canon 70D and I must say that the combination of the camera sensor with this lens is perfect, too bad about the extreme edges of the image there is a loss of sharpness (only between 17mm to 24mm) after which the images are very sharp throughout the frame. What impressed me was the sharpness achieved between 50mm and 70mm that is worthy of the best goals in commercio.rnLa stabilization is excellent and allows you to shoot with a steady hand even at 1/8 second without risking camera shake, the colors are quite neutral and detail to detail is great, the range of diaphragms where the lens from its peak and f / 5.6 to 8 who then diaphragms DOC for APS-C cameras when taking panorami.rnSe are undecided of that optical shop for APS-C I recommend this for great value for money !!!

Pros: Build quality, versatility, sharpness, brightness, durability, price, very precise AF, stabilizer, macro

Cons: chromatic aberration and distortion (easily solved in pp) to 17 mm

Opinion: That is, considering the quality / price ratio sigma confirms winning. Excellent sharpness, brightness and robustness at very low. The zoom range is also excellent. As zoom handyman in its price range I do not think is unmatched. It does really all. A maximum aperture unfortunately suffers a bit of chromatic aberration, but is easily solved in post-production.

Pros: Sharpness, color rendering, stabilization, versatility, build quality and price

Cons: AF A little 'slow

Opinion: I use it for about a year (Canon) and I can say that I am fine there! RNE perspective surprising, especially in relation to prezzo.rnL'ho purchased as a handyman and did not expect an excellent quality but I was immediately surprised. rnL'unico small flaw is that the AF is not a splinter ... But it's very accurate! rnMolto very much better than other optical more "trendy" and expensive! rnLo advice to all those looking for a quality handyman!

Opinion: I 've used in place of' optical kit Nikon 18-55. Goal with a value for money for me very favorable. Ideal for street and travel, lightweight, compact with excellent quality of the yield and the yield of prodotto.rnattualmente only because I want to go to FF format and this is an 'optical suitable only for APSC

Pros: good brightness, good contrast and sharpness, stabilizer.

Cons: flare evident against the light, both solar and artificial lights with point

Opinion: I use it for about a month, I think it is a great all-round, saw the good zoom range, also valid for macro seen the very short distance of focus, brightness for discreet photo evening and night. Only sin is suffering the flare (and unfortunately not only sunlight but also with strong lights and puntifomi present in night shots in the city) would say otherwise perfect

Pros: Price, Focal, stabilizer

Cons: 17mm vignetting, required calibration, barrel elongation

Opinion: is the only zoom lens bought years ago that I still have in the kit, taken to replace the Nikon Kit has always given me great shots; As the modern sigma tends to cool shades and to close the shadows, but in general F4 has a fairly constant yield on all the focal lengths and if well calibrated with the USB dock also resolves dense asp-C sensors such as 24MPX on the entire focal range without far Rimpia Ngere alternatives like the 17-50 except for the constant f 2.8 aperture; The AF is a bit slow and on the 39 points Nikon a bit inconstant, while the stabilizer works well recover 4 stops of light; It tends to vignette conspicuously at 17mm in TA but has a good hold against light with flare content and AC virtually nil on the entire focal excursion; The construction quality is good (even if made of plastic is very solid), imprecise the indication of the focus to infinity on the ring nut (even after calibration) and in the resting position towards down the barrel tends to lengthen; The blurry is slightly nervous and the bokeh does not excel, but in line with the zooms (see also 17-50 2.8) in circulation; It is also given as a macro but the working distance is little and the ratio of playback little; The advice on APS-C as zooms all do both for focals and global yields to be flanked by a possible fixed/I bright (eg a good 50 1.8), lens to use between F4-F 7.1 and to buy from the start with USB dock to perform the calibration of up on your body but Cchina.

Pros: good brightness, good contrast and sharpness.

Cons: chromatic aberration evident at the edges at all focal lengths and any opening, autofocus not right at the top in less than optimal lighting conditions

Opinion: goal not born to make a difference but still a good lens .. building looks solid, but economic in some respects including the focus ring to focus too sensitive to small adjustments in manuale.rnLa distance focus is almost unbelievable the you will never be far to the subject being careful to remove the lens hood! rnDi against the ability to engage the subject with the light conditions are not optimal, it definitely is not her dowry migliore..rnrimane still good to do all of aps-c where It expresses the equivalent focal length of 24-105 on FF.

Pros: brightness

Cons: flare evident and not always manageable pp

Opinion: Purchased in December 2013 the use of a Canon 600d. A glance seems pretty solid. I chose it for its brightness, but when shooting backlit or in indoor environments me from annoying flare of green ... I knew of the problems on the bodies Canon but I did not think of this magnitude. I read aggiornamebti firmware with adattaore usb ... but I doubt it can be effective. When I use the flash are forced to remove the lens hood to avoid dark areas on photos Very disappointed not wouldnt more

Pros: Build quality and robustness, precision of focus, brightness, value for money

Cons: I do not see the negative aspects relevant

Opinion: A great goal, both from the first impact when you pick up the pictures taken. The first thing that struck me was the quality of the color returns in the pictures than the Canon 18-135 kit as I had before, which returned the colors much colder. The solid construction is quite high, Sigma has greatly improved with the new series A and C than older serie.rnNel a complex lens that advice given the versatility, also to make video recordings (which use a lot).

Pros: Sharp colors, fast and silent AF, good size and weight construction

Cons: Compatibility of some Nikon models, the previous model was the block at 17 I would have preferred it on this model

Opinion: I bought this to replace the 18-55 kit lens of my Nikon D3100, the jump in quality is noticeable from the construction, (the plastic ring on the lens kit is really bad) the focus is fast and accurate, even in environments with poor lighting, crisp already in TA, a bad thing is not the perfect fit on many models such as the Nikon D7100 and D5300, does not create major problems, and you can safely use, after taking a photo preview remains on the display for 60 seconds, but by pressing the shutter button half what the image disappears and everything returns to normal. Good stabilization

Cons: Diameter 77 f2.8 is not constant

Opinion: I use it on a Sony a55, spectacular! RnBasso price for a handyman eccellente.rnBuona focal range that allows you to switch from landscape photography to make some decent pictures with a decent bokeh (soft but not very satisfactory). RnFlare backlighting, but it can be a pro or against it depends on what you want to achieve, but nothing grave.rnLeggera vignetting at all focal lengths (more evident at low focal), but easily correctable, good macro although it requires to come very close to having discrete risultati.rnUn lens that would absolutely recommend! Pros: Construction, aesthetics, speed MAF, sharpness, equipment, price.

Cons: Zoom ring a little 'hard. Poor resistance to flare.

Opinion: Aesthetically well finished. Feels solid and well made (the weight is no joke). Focus silent, swift and accurate even in low light (indoors and in the afternoon). Crisp. Focus ring fluid, a little 'hard that the zoom. Poor resistance to flare in backlit but nothing unmanageable. Nothing similar to the price of other brands. A great all-rounder also equipped with hood. I use it with satisfaction on the 60D and would not trade it if not to switch to FF.

Pros: Sharpness, maf fast, focal length, value for money

Cons: Maf inaccurate particular conditions of light (eg indoors), the zoom ring a little slow, no custody, colors a bit 'cold

Opinion: I wanted a handyman to replace the traditional objective lens kit with which I bought the camera and I would say that the choice was more than apt. The sharpness of the picture is really good and the focal length greater than the objective to be more kit allows you to manage different situations. Below 20 cartoon slightly but it's all controllable via PP. Problems with front / back focus on my model are not present (it was in fact my only question at the time of purchase). Bokeh wide open but very incisive gradevole.rnIn ultimately I am very happy with the purchase.

Opinion: Considering the price, it is a lens that can give satisfaction, coupled with the Nikon D7100 is an excellent tuttofare.Nitido enough to TA, bright 17mm, in short, are positive notes on this subject sigma.Unica sins if we want a name in the box could insert a semi-hard case protection, which is placed in the high-end goals.

Cons: you can not adjust the focus manually without first turning off the autofocus button dall'apposito

Opinion: I was looking for a lens for sharp images and brilliant live (my all make 18 200 on the D3100 was perfect, but on the D7000 to the intermediate focal leaves much to be desired). I have tried other goals, but then I decided that bellllllloooooo sigma .... that is ........ photos in dim light freehand with time and iso average low ..... razor-sharp pictures in full sun all focal lengths and apertures ..... good wide angle and short telephoto for all who make less stringent than others but of excellent quality, workmanship and performance. Pros: materials, stabilizer, price, sharpness

Cons: opening is not fixed, vignetting below 20mm

Opinion: I was looking for a lens to replace the 18-55 kit Canon 600D and since I liked the idea of ??those in 20mm plus I preferred the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and even when the aperture is not fixed, the Sigma proved to be rather bright, given the price (purchased new 450 €) I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of construction, materials and its robustezza.rnL 'I used on vacation this summer and I have not had any kind of problem, in Apart from the fact that it is not just light, but it is undoubtedly one of the most versatile and affordable handyman, mainly for those who (like me) who approach the world of digital photography and want to start to experiment a bit '. RNLA ring, as mentioned in other reviews, it is actually quite hard, but this rigidity has allowed us to eliminate the switch block optics, in the previous version, however there is immediately a habit. rnL'AF is not Ultrasonic, but it is very fast and fortunately my model does not soffshore front / back focus (although now they seem to be quite rare new models who suffer from Sigma). Great stabilizzatore.rnDa the report vignetting and distortion accentuated under 20mm, but perfectly eliminated in post-production (for those who use or PS CameraRaw the lens profile of this lens is very good)

Pros: construction, definition, "macro"

Cons: AF inaccuracy, vignetting, brightness

Opinion: I state that I am not an expert in the field and not a professional photographer, but for more than thirty years I like to take pictures and shoot video (by other means) as a "family tradition". RnSono already have other lenses Sigma and Tamron and 'I decided to take this product for its practicality and convenience of utilizzo.rnLa its variable focal length (17-70mm) is well-suited to most uses of a photo amateur and brightness, on paper, should have been slightly greater than the concorrenza.rnLa version (C) is the latest model from Sigma able to interface with the USB adapter (which will be released later this year) which will make it possible to update firmware and set / fix / customize set-up problems fire, front and rear focus ... and altro.rnQuindi, an excellent investment from all points of view, especially considering the numerous cases of front or back focus of Canon camera bodies with optical Sigma.rnPer its nature "economic" use it on an EOS body that 550D.rnRilevo Fronto Rear focus are correct, the bokhe is very soft and manageable, the speed of the system focus is good and quiet but ... . RnForse my copy will not be out of the factory perfectly calibrated or has problems: rn * the auto focus (quick and silent) often fails the operation, making annoying click "quick" and requires a lot of patience; rn * in case of landscapes with uniform backgrounds the auto focus fails mercilessly; rn * brightness is below than I expected (honestly, comparing the Tamron or Sigma 17-50 is less bright) rn * with or without additional UV filters there are flare, as if the hood was "underpowered" (for wide angle?!) rn * suffers from a marked vignetting (corners) to the minimum and maximum focal length (the ends) while varying the diaframma.rnLa construction is solid and 'is well done, well manageable .. but to be honest personally is the lens that I was less satisfied in assoluto.rnNon can not exclude that it is aitem flawed or born "unfortunate" because by doing various tests with other camera bodies gave the same risultati.rnUna what is really appreciable, however, the "sharpness" of the focus when working and its "punch". rnRiesce to accurately select the subject leaving everything else out with a bokeh credibile.rnLa automatic management of the diaphragm, in my opinion, is "push" (forced) to maintain openings that provide greater brightness and then introduces himself very bokeh.rnSe this is how it works physiological would not recommend it to a person at the first armi.rnNon 'is easy to achieve precise shots to the "first shot" if the automatic setting is questo.rnNon' is an "immediate goal" for those looking for the "quick shot", bad for the occasional reporter (for example). rn (the article will be in my possession a flawed product or am I that I was expecting something more?! depend on the setup / factory settings correctable using USB d futureock station?). rnQuesto's it.

Pros: Stabilizer, solidity, AF speed, sharpness, macro. Good focal range.

Cons: My impression is that the zoom ring turns upside down in relation to other optics but it is not a real defect. Too bad for the opening focal not fixed.

Opinion: In general I would say that is a good all-rounder to replace the optical optics kit, good value for money. I recommend it to all amateur photographers.
