Pros: Image quality, Build quality, ISO resistance, monitor.

Cons: Lack of optical stabilization (but only because there are not too many stabilized optics)

Opinion: I've been playing with this room for a few months. The image quality is one of the best I've ever had, it really generates some wonderful files. For the rest it is the usual classic Nikon built damn well, nothing to complain. The only lack is an optical stabilization, but as written above, only because Nikon has not made many stabilized lenses. In fact, with the 18-140 it is a very strong combination and it is difficult to miss a few shots. Excellent body in my opinion, considered less than what it is really worth.

Pros: Excellent image quality, dynamic range, lightness, ergonomics, high ISO seal, Jpg quality, excellent kit optics.

Cons: Lack of stabilizer, front buttons not very usable.

Opinion: Extraordinary camera, it offers an impressive image quality even with the kit lenses (16-50 and 50-250). With lenses such as af-s 16-80 f/2.8-4 VR and Af-s 70-200 f/2.8 VR and the FTZ adapter delivers images worthy of a professional camera for sharpness, dynamic range and quality of detail. A small jewel that also allows lovers of the APS-C (DX) format to enter the mirrorless world of Nikon Z, which really represents a step forward compared to the Nikon D in many respects. The size and some features (such as the minimum time of 1/4000s and the inability to use a handle) are from an entry level camera, but all the other functions (from bracketing up to 9 frames, to customizing the functions, to the burst of 11 frames per second) place it more among the semi-pros! The latest generation 20mpx CMOS sensor, the expeed VI processor and the protection against the weather make it a light, versatile, compact travel companion, excellent in every situation and the optics of the Kit allow you to meet 90% of the needs of a medium-evolved amateur photographer! Personally, I am very satisfied with this. Rating: 9.5

Pros: Image quality. Ergonomics for photographers (think about it). Small. Optical qualities available. ISO seal . Dynamic Range.

Cons: Optical quantities available. Sensor not stabilized (not for me)

Opinion: If you are looking for a small camera but capable of churning out good quality files, this Z50 you have to evaluate. It grips well (it reminds me of the Olympus OMD em 1mk 1-2 that I had), it is well done, it has keys that can be customized, two rings, the dedicated ISO button, exposure compensation both callable by a dedicated button, both on a wheel when working in priority, lightning fast focus in AFS, in AFC I still have to check because for the type of photo I do it has never served me and then I am used to Sony A7III and comparisons are difficult to make (even if now the A7III is throwing away... :-) ). I compared the files it returns with those of the XT3 (which I had), and I do not think it is inferior to this (indeed), true that the Fuji JPGs are a separate philosophy, but those of this Z50 are beautiful and can certainly suffice as they are produced by the machine. Raw files are full of information and workable, the tightness at high ISO is amazing and you can bring the histogram to the right to "ISO sound" and retrieve from the lights all the details you need (if we have not burned them ...) At low ISOs, when you ree the exposures or when they are particularly contrasted, from the shadows you recover details in a surprising way. Of course it is better to try it for yourself, but I am convinced that you will be surprised. The sensor is not stabilized, here those who say that vintage or third-party non-stabilized optics are then difficult to use may be right. True, but I just need the dedicated optics that are excellent and adequate to make this machine a light and performing tool for all occasions where I prefer little weight (climbing, trekking, cross-country skiing, MTB). The 16-50 in kit is amazing! It has only one slot, amen, I'll make it enough. The battery does not last long, amen I buy another one. On the video side, I do not pronounce as I do not do it, I do not know the parameters and I do not know what to say about it. Vote 9, maybe it deserves something more, but 10 I gave only to Bo Derek...

Pros: Good file quality, small, ergonomic.

Cons: lack of some buttons and generally small, the AF could be better, the stabilizer is missing, poor battery.

Opinion: What about this which is Nikon's first APS-C camera of the Z system. For me it is excellent I am very satisfied, although it is not perfect. It holds very well in its hand, it has a viewfinder that does its duty (I can not make comparisons with emblazoned viewfinders), complete with everything, I only miss the stabilizer being accustomed with Olympus that now implements it forever. Fortunately, the stabilizer of the two kits is exceptional and compensates well for this lack. I would therefore say that it does everything excellently, only the AF is not of the infallible ones, especially tracking. To zoom in or out it has virtual keys on the screen and for me this is a pretty silly lack. Another flaw is the battery, of relatively short duration, I recommend the purchase of a second. The files are excellent and even the Jpeg disabling the noise reduction filter (which unlike other brands is totally disabled) can be used safely up to 6400 iso having a dry grain and keeping the details. I notice this when I photograph my children indoors without flash, at 6400 iso I see the noise, but I also see the fine details of the hair, not the usual watercolor details. The WB is also excellent with artificial light and the profile in the camera of the Jpeg (the film) has many settings and you can achieve interesting results. Would I buy it again? Absolutely yes, absolutely with the double kit, two exceptional lenses (do not call them kits of which they only have the brightness) and that go very well both aesthetically and ergonomically with the camera. Who don't I recommend it to? For those looking for the super AF (better perhaps look at the Sony APS-C), a massive body, or at least Pro features, since this body although complete is designed to fit into the old band of the D5xxx.

Pros: Size, image quality, excellent high ISO seal

Cons: Small buttons, battery life, micro usb

Opinion: Purchased about a month ago because I felt the need for a lighter and more transportable body to use during trips with family and trips out of town. It is a little gem that does not make you regret having left your SLR at home. Excellent image quality and a really unexpected rendering even at medium-high ISO. In this definitely better than my D7100, thanks also to the evolution of the xspeed 6 processor. On the other hand, I found the buttons a bit too small. Perhaps because of the size of my hands, I have more than a few difficulties in operating the fn buttons simultaneously with the adjustment rings placed at the front and rear. Good quality of the LCD screen and more than good viewfinder, with which I was immediately at ease. Another sore point is the battery life, but it was a minus that I already knew. As well as the single slot for the SD card that unfortunately is placed in the battery compartment. Another sore point is the micro usb input: I would have preferred a usb-C input. It is true that the battery can be recharged in the car through the USB input but it is also true that it is not possible to use it while charging and considering the battery life, I find this choice wrong that forces you to buy a second battery, whose price is not really cheap. I use it with the 16-50 in kit that, despite appearances, gives amazing results even if a little dark. Waiting for nikon to chuttle some other optics, I use the 18-140 with tfz adapter and I have not encountered any problems. Unfortunately with third-party optics the speech is not so simple and you have to try case by case compatibility. In conclusion, if you are looking for a small ml, easy to use, to carry around without problems of weight and bulk and with an excellent image quality, the nikon z50 is highly recommended!!

Pros: size,handling,nikon feeling

Cons: small optical fleet, battery life.

Opinion: I took it together with the FTZ adapter, to use it in the studio (dental photo), replacing a reflex,D800e.The files that make, are very sharp, Operating speed and autofocus of the first order ... of course, some extra optics were available would not be bad.As transportability I can only be pleased, together with an annular flash, metz 15 ms-1.40 micro and adapter, it is lighter and bulky than the d800e with the 60 that I used before.

Pros: It has the right lightness and compactness. The body is solid and holding it is a real pleasure. The mechanical shutter is little more than a rustle. It is absolutely customizable. The top is autofocus, very rare cases of incorrect focus, even in borderline conditions. With the 16-50 the files are amazing, real colors, three-dimensionality, microcontrast.

Cons: Surely the battery, for a day you need 2 to 3 (and they cost). In order to exploit the full potential of the machine, at least at the beginning, the manual is necessary. Nital who evidently wants to tease his clients provides the "kindergarten" version, if you want a serious thing you have to download the manual in the English version provided by Nikon. Finally the 50-250 of the kit is absolutely mediocre. Ah, I forgot, in this race to save you now give up even those little things that were once obvious, so if you want the lampsheds you have to buy them.

Opinion: After some doubt I took her to make street. I come from Sony and Fujifilm which theoretically for the street are considered the ideal brands. Well, this mirrorless, from my experience, gives him beer. Used in manual the controls are quick and intuitive, the autofocus does not miss a beat, the files are enchanting. It is fast, sufficiently quiet, but can be totally silenced, at least in daylight (because with artificial the shutters are guaranteed). It holds well even at high sensitivities. In short, it is one of the most functional and fun machines I have ever had (and I have had them!). Also used with the FTZ adapter, but it becomes bulky, unbalances the machine and all the ambaradan, in my opinion, makes some of the essential characteristics disappear: size, lightness and handling. For the photographic genre I practice a 14mm Z it would be a blessing of heaven.

Pros: Reflex pro ergonomics, Autofocus, eye tracking, High Iso, dynamic range, fantastic jpg, Z attachment, value for money, very light (397g), Compatible with F optics

Cons: to want to find one by force the battery life

Opinion: I've had it for 6 months and it's such a beautiful car! I chose mirrorless and non-reflex for two reasons: compactness, and video. I have to say that the choice of this machine could not have been more correct. I chosen it after a long period of comparisons. For me it won on all the cameras I had considered for my budget (fuji sony canon lumix). I did a video review on youtube in I tell us about this. For me it is the APSC currently present on the market with the most favorable quality / price ratio ever. Those few who talk badly about YT haven't tried it. The Z50 excels in all the fundamental aspects: - the excellent hold at the high iso for an apsc - a crazy dynamic range - of really good colors for the jpg - Ergonomics from reflex top Very Light only 397 g. the Body is tropicalized in reflex style with a comfortable handle and rear bump that makes it particularly ergonomic. The hold at high ISO is really amazing for an Apsc thanks to the expeed6 processor. It produces beautiful and very workable files both in the lights and in the Shadows, Autofocus works very well also has the eye and face recognition function that are very useful to me when photographing those two gremlins of my children. The menu is very intuitive, Nikon has always stood out for it. The viewfinder is sharp, has diopters correction and produces a perfect preview of the shot. The sensor is not stabilized but the optics are stabilized and the Digital Image Stabilization is present. The focus peaking is very precise and it is possible to enlarge the image not only in the live view but also in the viewfinder and this allows me to use with great simplicity manual vintage furniture such as the helios 58mm and and the mir 35mm. Video side is perfect : first of all it is 4K, The tipper screen perfectly aligned with the lens. When you register you don't notice that you're not looking in the room. The autofocus is fast, very quiet and precise. The Z-attachment has the largest bayonet diameter on the market and this allows greater light passage to solve more. As for the optics in the kit there is to say that they are optical ladies. We are usually used to thinking that kit optics are ciofeche ... this, however, is not the case with the z50. The 16-50 kit lens while not particularly bright has crazy clarity. Perhaps thanks to attack Z. The machine is compatible with all the Z-series optics and this is a big plus compared to the competitors, because it allows us to enter the Z system in small steps : First I buy the z50, then I buy some optics, then I take a FF, all while preserving the same optical fleet. In the future I could choose to have 2 bodies one aps_c and one FF one for the outputs and one for the studio that share the same optical park. With the FTZ adapter you can use all the lenses with F-mount while preserving the automatisms and this gives us access to an endless fleet of "Used" optics. You can make a respectable kit with an objectively reduced expenditure of 50%. All at a much lower price than the many competitors ... I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Pros: Excellent file quality body top of range ergonomics and controls, tropicalized AF good but still improveable

Cons: Optical park reduced to bone

Opinion: The machine is a small big ml... it keeps the tall isos amazingly to be an APSC and churns out really very nice files... for those who already come from the black yellow brand will have no problem with the menu, however very simple ... excellent ergonomics, light and discreet and the top for making street... it's not an entry level at all... and much more... Nikon is doing a great job with the new ml system... the only flaw that I can criticize and the lack of availability of dedicated lenses for this system ... you can't make a quality machine like the z50 and then force photographers to settle for just two kit lenses.. (good lenses but not in step with the competition) the adapter with F lenses works well.. but it's not the same... also because what is the point of making the big bayonet and then mounting the optics F... I urge Nikon to move to make professional optics for the APSC ml system... otherwise I'm sure it won't go far as far as the z50 is concerned!

Pros: Exceptional in many respects, latest generation processor held high iso incredible for an Apsc, beautiful and very workable files both in the lights and shadows, Face/Eye Detection possibility to use all the infinite optical park of Nikon with ftz

Cons: ... don't have it, ... maybe some native optics dedicated to both Nikon and third parties

Opinion: I think it's the best APSC on the market as value for money, and perhaps the least capita camera in Nikon's history. Many have not tried it and speak badly about it, it is compared to an entry level, but this is absolutely not the case. I have been using it for one year for work alongside the Z6, D750, D600 and D7200. It is a machine that if you come from the world of dsrl must be studied and happens, it has incredible possibilities churns out files higher than all nikon DSRL apsc, including the D500. It keeps isos as well as a FF reflex. the Video Compartment is really great look on the Tube and see what it can do. It has eye detect, with focus peaking you can easily use the old Nikon Ais and have a surgical focus. The 2 optics of the Kit even if they are made of plastic have an impressive quality. The high quality of the sensor coupled to the new processor allows with the new features of Camera RAW "Super Resolution" to get a file of more than 80 MB! In conclusion a machine body that I recommend to everyone to the Pros and enthusiasts is very light tropicalized and above all very robust I fall several times without reporting any damage. vote 10

Pros: Fantastic iso seal, proven at 12800 iso the file was usable, software, compactness and weight

Cons: lack of dedicated targets, multipliers and excessively priced FTZ adapter ring (especially multipliers, cost more than the individual optics produced so far for the Z50).

Opinion: Overall really happy with the purchase, managing well to make my life "light" compared to the full frame (nikon D750 with optical park) for out-of-door trips. The only note in addition to the cons described above, the focus that is often lightning, but in some situations it turns out to be problematic so much that it has to solve with the focus on a single point.

Pros: Compactness, grip, iso hold, file workability, autofocus.

Cons: Lack of native lenses in dx format!! Nikon give us at least a fixed 18mm and a 23mm.

Opinion: The machine itself is perfect even considering the cost. It has everything you need for an even evolved photoamateur. But Nikon has to hurry to produce native dx optics, in my way I see buying a small and relatively cheap body and then mounting the larger and very expensive full frame Z lenses makes no sense. Even less to put the F optics in it unless already in possession. But they must try to sell to new potential customers not only keep the old. They must at least market a 24/70 (equivalent FF) f2.8 and a pair of fixed 28mm and 35mm native only der bodies Z dx, always focusing on compactness then f2 massino. Hello everyone

Pros: Expeed6 processor, high iso seal, image quality ,fast hybrid autofocus, materials, tropicalized, handle , ability to mount mount mount f optics with adapter provided.

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Bought because I was attracted to the quality - price and on balance I did not regret it at all. It has the right lightness and size, compact body with a fantastic grip,I immediately tried the autofocus and it is really fast and precise! For now I have tested the optics of the 16-50 kit not bright but sharp! With this processor I can afford to shoot with high iso without problems. The menu setting is customizable and wide like all high-end nikons. On the web someone complains that they cannot insert the memory card sideways into the handle as in the reflex, but I prefer it in the battery compartment as Olympus .

Pros: Compactness, ergonomics, usability, high iso seal, very workable files, sharpness, gust up to 11 fps with excellent buffer, memory card sd, video department, autofocus, intuitive menu, viewfinder, compatibility Z objectives (great 16-50 and 50-250 ) and F, prices of Kit.

Cons: I could say the battery but we take into account that it is a mirrorless, but it can be avoided by optimizing the use of monitor/scope and mune ing e additional battery(s depending on the use that you plan to make it

Opinion: Great machine in all respects: fantastic iso estate (here we talk about very usable files up to almost 20,000 iso); usability at the top with countless possibilities to customize it for your own use and consumption, just take our hand with the menu, very intuitive, especially if you come from other Nikon; fantastic crosshairs, which allows you to do and see what you want and to have full mastery of the shots, if you want you can see the final result of the photo or, if you have to photograph in the dark, see in plain sight what you are going to photograph, for example with the flash or at night with high iso, by the way excellent the illuminator of the autofocus; In short, you have to think about what to do and she follows you on almost everything. If we add to this that has the sensor of the D500 and D7500, excellent, with the expeed 6 processor, what more do you want! SD memory card, great buffer even with maximum burst of 11 fps, autofocus great for all occasions, just know how to set it for what it needs to serve; light but very ergonomic and effective. More than good videos with many options for choice of formats. Beware of flickering with artificial lights but there is a special possibility to eliminate it. Goals of the kit that pleasantly surprised me in positive, only could be a little brighter. Highly recommended and vote by 10 and praise!

Pros: Reflex style, comfortable, lightweight and compact grip, excellent price-to-quality ratio, compatibility with all Nikon Z and F optics (with ZTF Mount), maintains the nikon reflex feel

Cons: Smaller controls and buttons than the Z6 and Z7 sisters, battery life (about 310 clicks), lacks the headphone attachment

Opinion: Tried with the new Nikon Z 50-250mm optics, first impressions are more than good. A DX mirrorless with a compact and in-low-cost APS-C sensor that is offered as an "entry-level" product is by no means the case. The 20.9-megapixel sensor, the new Expeed 6 software, full compatibility with the Z and F optics make the Z50 a camera worth keeping up with the big sisters Z6 and Z7. Tested at very high ISO (between 9,000 and 51,200) in very bad light conditions has generated very interesting RAW well processed in post production with good quality JPEGs (always in relation to the very high values of the ISO). Also tried the shot in AF-C (RAW 14bit) with shooting speed at 11 fp and the Z50 and with a 128 Gb SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro from 170 Mb/s) the buffer held well although every now and then the shot stopped and resumed an instant later at full capacity. Perfect compatibility with the F-Mount series optics, mounting the Nikon AF-S 200-400 f/4G ED VR with Nikon AF-S TC-14E III multiplier and FTZ-Mount adapter the small mirrorless did its job well. Always at very high ISO (above 20,000) in AF-C the 560mm autofocus was fast and quite accurate (certainly not comparable to the AF of the D850 or D5 reflexes). I found the feeling that Nikon also maintained on the Z50 very comfortable. Menus and settings are quite similar to those of the "D" series reflex, and I also tried to insert the SD card used on the Z50 on a D850 and the RAW were perfectly read by the sl. A very interesting combination for those who work with both systems. Moving on to negative notes, in the first list we have battery life, after just 311 shots it has discharged. The external attachment for the headphones is missing a small gap for those who use it as a video maker. The Z50 is a "compact reflex" and the compactness is also reflected on the identical but smaller keys and controls of the Z6 and Z7 sisters. Some controls can be inconvenient for those who, like me, have big hands (without removing the Z50 from the frame, from memory without looking I had difficulty pressing the Fn1 button and simultaneously rotate the dial to select AF-S or AF-C). Anyway, it's just my personal consideration, just get used to it.
