Pros: Everything, it's a zoom!

Cons: For me nobody, it's a zoom!

Opinion: Purchased used. Used for what it is, it's great. On the D850 he holds the pace of the fixeds that are "next to him in the bag" (28 1.4 E, 50 1.4 G, 85 1.4 G) as regards sharpness, at the right apertures, for the rest the fixed are .... fixed bright .... It does its job beautifully when it has to and can do it, just mount it when you don't want/can use the fixeds, even if it requires a little more attention in the PP. It turns the D850 into "compact" ..... so to speak! Then it is an f 4 on all focal lengths, and it does not hurt. I'm very happy, highly recommended!

Pros: Handyman - Stabilizer - Autofocus - Price (used)

Cons: Distortion - Sharpness - Weight - Vignetting

Opinion: Used on D810 for 1 year, what about? if you are looking for versatility is an excellent lens, I used it for undesigned shots or for quiet Sunday outings without having to carry with me so much weight and lenses, the autofocus is fast, from the best of itself to intermediate focals 35-50-70, at 24 it has so much distortion at 120 the image is rather soft especially at TA, evident vignetting , on the sensor of the "BIG" all these defects obviously can be noticed more, but overall this lens will pay you back with the focal excursion that will allow you to take home the classic "stolen" shot

Pros: Stabilized (though not the best stabilizer ever), very versatile, most reasonable second-hand price

Cons: It suffers dense sensors, general sharpness not at the top, vignetting, price of the new very high, suffers a little the backlight

Opinion: A lens with which you can really take home a huge variety of shots but it must be known and know how to use at best, I explain : you have to know the yield of the combinations between focal length / opening because at some of these combinations the lens becomes really very soft as it can give its best to others. I really found a lot of consistency with the analyses made by DxO regarding the best focal length/aperture combinations and lens sharpening so in this case DxO can really be reference. That said, in some situations it suffers very dense sensors by not being able to solve them at its best and in general it is a lens that does not make incisiveness its strong point but, at such a versatile lens you can forgive it, especially if you push a little more on sharpening in pp. The Af has never given me any particular problems. The vignetting is quite marked so much that it has to "stain" in the corners in Ps (very evident especially in the landscape on the blue of the sky) especially at 24mm. The stabilizer does its but on machines like the D810 it must still be used once widely safely otherwise you suffer anyway. The colors are quite beautiful and natural. Overall it's a great thing to do when compared to alternatives (even third-party ones) that have far worse issues to deal with. Having said that the overall yield is quite good and if used with due care it is a really good workhorse, I do not know if I would change it with something else in this range, maybe only with the 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 G ED VR but which lacks the Nano Crystal Coat. Today's second-hand price definitely makes it the winner of the category! Rating : 8.9

Pros: A fascinating optics " praise of practical reason " does everything and does it well, F constant and diaphragm with 9 slats and also sharp !!!

Cons: Slight distortion at 24 mm .. Just

Opinion: Taken Together with the D750, I have now switched to the D780 but I kept it, compact and heavy at the right point, crisp enough.. let's not forget that it is a 24-120 FF and with a little attention always makes beautiful photos, tried even in the non-professional sports field really gives nice satisfactions. Unfortunately once hooked it is difficult to take it off, because on the fly and without thinking too much it is always ready with the right focal point, it does not work miracles but the MYTHICAL sharpness that we usually look for is there without exaggerating however the difference with fixed optics, certainly superior, lies in capturing the fleeting moment that will not return and the 24-120 carpisce and it also does well . A NICE 10 absolutely

Pros: Versatility

Cons: Sharpness

Opinion: I have been using it for three years now, purchased in kit with the Nikon D750, it has proved to be a winning choice. Comfortable, very versatile, light, as many say you end up keeping it always mounted on. The only real weakness and incision, not too marked, but if one does not seek hyper-sharpness is not a problem. I do not consider vignetting, distortion and aberration to be weak points: all of them are really minimal, and they are solved automatically with two clicks in Camera Raw or Capture NX-D, once the lens profile is set in the program. Especially now, value for money has reached an important level.

Pros: Compact,all-rounder, f constant

Cons: 24mm vignette

Opinion: Great all-rounder, very useful for trips or out-of-town trips. Thanks to the 9 slats it gives pleasant smudges, too bad for that 24mm vignette, solvable anyway in pp. For something specific I use the fixed, but for photos "generalist" does its duty. I often go out with this lens and with 20mm and as far as I'm concerned I'm covered for 95% of situations. Vote 9

Pros: True all-rounder, value for money (used), decent performance, good stabilization

Cons: Nothing really relevant given the current price

Opinion: An optical very often denigrated but in my opinion it does its duty when used for the purpose for which it was designed, that is, a handyman that goes from wide angle to mid-range. I'm a Sunday photo amateur, but I still have good eyes. I've often used it with D750 on the go and it has never disappointed me: af valid, effective stabilization and very versatile focal excursion, sharpness more than enough for any purpose. If you are interested in absolute performance in terms of MTF etc. it's not the optics for you, but if you don't ask you to do what you can't do, that is, behaving like a fixed or a triple-cost optics, it will definitely make you take home good shots. I don't talk about vignette and distortion, I'm there, but they work out quickly with a couple of clicks. Maybe it could show the side on very dense sensors type D810 or D850, but on the 24mps of the D750 it goes well. For the moment it is irreplaceable for me, when I can not carry other lenses with me I use only this. I don't feel the need to pass 24-70 f2.8, the 24-120 you choose it for versatility. If I need quality or fun I use the fixtures. Recommended.

Pros: versatile, fast enough and sharp enough, an irreplaceable all-rounder

Cons: vignette a little bit and the flare

Opinion: He's my handyman. It is not replaceable and recently gained even more importance to me when I saw in a magazine the comparative evidence for the sharpness between this and the noble 24 - 70 2.8: incredibly they were at absolutely comparable levels! Between f5.6 and f11 the points for 24-120 were between 1800 and 2200 while for 24-70 they were between 1700 and 2400. Fringing is higher in 24-70 and the distortions of the latter are not lower than those of 24-120. All written on N-photography n 98. By the way, neither solved the D850. The vignette is easily corrected with LR while for the flare there is little to do and you have to act accordingly. Finally, the focal range is unique in the panorama of all-diaphragm handy zooms. It's a bit old-fashioned as a project when it comes to stabilization but it's at very affordable prices. Ps. I forgot: it has 9 slats

Pros: Zoom all-rounder cheap, versatile and unwieldy. Precise autofocus.

Cons: General quality quite low, but adjusted to the price. F4

Opinion: Versatile lens, focus pretty fast and precise. Its small limit is the vignette that if you can not do post production is obvious and turns off a lot of the images. Fixed F4 is a limit but with such a hike it is difficult to get better results. A product with these features but f 2.8 I think would cost too much. But I hope sooner or later it will come. On the used is located at very affordable prices and therefore accessible to everyone. Blurring is what it is. whoever buys it has to put it into account. Recommended as the best unpretentious lens and handyman on the market. Not recommended to those who already have 24 70 2.8 and want a replacement: it is not worthy.

sent on August 23, 2019

Pros: Focal excursion from real all-rounder, good sharpness and blurry, AF at height for portrait and landscapes, if you use it to chase moving subjects you can run the risk of being out of focus in some shots since the AF is not a splinter. It does everything and discreetly well.

Cons: In the reviews of other users there is written distortion and vignette, with a click it solves everything, so for me it has no relevant defects.

Opinion: Taken in kit with the nikon D750, I took it to have an all-rounder to use for family and travel photos, without major illusions or hopes (since I came from D7100 and Had as handyman the 18-140mm, of which I regretted the poor quality of the photos that churned) I was pleasantly surprised and impressed, maybe I had zero expectations and seeing the files coming out I was shocked (in a positive way) to keep it attached to the D750 more than I imagined! Of course if you compare it with a 24 70 mm or super bright fixtures it is logical that it is qualitatively worse, but if you take it for what it is (ie an all-rounder in kit) you can not really complain, indeed!

Pros: Compactness, versatility and great autofocus and VR

Cons: Not very clear with a little distortion.

Opinion: I'd say great and versatile. I sometimes lack a bit of brightness in scenes where it is not enough to stretch the times (here the VR gives you a good hand) but where you have to be quick because the subject moves. It's slightly less contrasted from 85mm up but it's not a big deal. I find it to be sharp enough even for 36 Mpix of the d800. At f4 you can not separate the subject well unless you have it close enough and the background far enough away or the right type (which you already dough alone when just out of focus, you see small leaves ... The poles coming out of the head remain clearly visible! Overall, good especially if bought in import (I paid 500 euros a year and a half ago..) or today official. I also have the 28-300 (which is not bad ..) but to get to the quality of this at 4-5.6 you have to close it at least to 8 ... Simply put when there is light almost everything is fine even if this is already much better than the average consumer. In the middle is a blade! even better than many fixed optics. The distortion is annoying to the short focal points only if there are architectural lines that give you references ... at that point you have to correct it a little bit. I really consider myself at the beginning, I usually try in difficult light situations, and I shoot in Jpeg although End at 24 or 26 Mpix. I do not like to tinker with the PC , I use it already all day, and I like beautiful pictures. Sometimes, not always, certain shots make me do ohh for the sharpness and colors that produces the d800 24-120 pairing. Max.

Pros: Zoom handyman, wide focal arc, constant brightness-excellent stabilizer

Cons: Distortion and vignetting always present-softness over 100mm-price a bit high for performance

Opinion: This lens would be a great fine-handyman lens until it is measured with demanding and pixel-rich sensors. On the D700 gives off noteworthy shots and does not regret zooms less multiplied, but on the latest cameras complaint with more evidence the limits of the project than a 5x zoom. Too bad because colors, saturation and stabilization are very valid, the first shots conquer for these characteristics; As soon as the horsemanship on the D850 are revealed the above faults. On a DX body, even dense, can do better, taking advantage of the crop section, but not part more from 24mm.... So what...

avatarjunior
sent on January 28, 2019

Pros: Range from all to do, in the end the yield is there, but you have to pull it out a bit with the pincers (compared with 18-35 G, 24-85 VR D, and 28-105 D)

Cons: Weight, sometimes disappointing quality, AF not suitable for moving subjects, on FF makes a little regret the 18-105 on DX (in terms of ease of bringing something home)

Opinion:

avatarjunior
sent on October 08, 2018

Pros: (on aps-c): Zero vignetting, zoom rather pushed equivalent, colors, flares obvious (to those who like):

Cons: (on aps-c): sharpness that leaves to be desired on D7100, not total resolution of the M-pixel of the sensor, F/4 constant in the wide angle measures a little hole.

Opinion: I found it a fantastic lens in many respects, construction plasticose but of quality, very solid, heavy and "present" thing that on D7100 I find a pro as it well scales the camera body giving you a lens feeling once when held the whole thing for Shoulder strap. It has an excellent yield for shades and colors, a nice fuzzy definitely superior to almost any DX lens having its 9 blades in place of the most popular 7. Unfortunately it is a little ' wasted on the small size a bit ' for the wide range that is often narrow (but it depends on what you have to do and if you want to go below the 24mm), and a bit ' for the brightness of the lens that is often a value in the lengths Longer focal lengths and one against 24 to almost 50mm. In the end I had the opportunity to sell it well to prove its legitimate equivalent for aps-c 16-80 2.8-4, which at the moment is giving me satisfaction even if constructively inferior and much lighter, with vignetting and absolute resistance to flare. Returning to the 24-120 I can add that enjoys an excellent system of stabilization VR. (lower than the 16-80). Beautiful lens that maybe it is worth exploiting in full on FF, but also on aps-c I think you will not be Disappointed.

Pros: Versatility. Everything to be honest. In the end even if you have better in the outfit finish to use it.

Cons: When a thing goes well for everything in the end it's not good at all. Everything do OK, but as soon as you need something precise how easy it is to mount it, and easy to disassemble it.

Opinion: What he must do does so without infamy and without praise. Evil in nothing excelled in anything. I repeat what is written above: to have in the kit because the end finish to use it sooner or later. As soon as necessity becomes more precise serves other. Without a lens like this you really risk the continuous mounting disassemble if you have only one camera body. Honest lens however between quality and price.

Pros: Versatility, comfort, good price in kits

Cons: On FX vignetting at 24 mm, not excellent over 100 mm

Opinion: Purchased in kit with the D750 is the optic that I use at 90% for its versatility and overall quality. Robust, fast, equipped with VR, excellent performance even at high ISO, absolutely to keep the hood always mounted as it suffers a bit of flare. We are not at fixed lens levels but the sharpness is excellent. I tried to take pictures comparing them with the 24-70 2.8 and the differences are imperceptible with the advantage of the size and price that allows you to buy with the difference also another fixed quality lens. Fast autofocus. I recommend it 100%

Pros: Versatility, weight / bulk, good sharpness

Cons: Vignetting, suffers in backlight (flare), distortion at 24mm

Opinion: I have owned it for about six months, really comfortable and versatile in all situations. X who like me has a purely landscaped approach I can say that f4 compared to a f2.8 of a 24-70 does not make a difference, but those 50mm of focal length in most certainly come back useful (even if at 120mm loses a bit 'in the surrender). In addition, its weight and compactness make it a good companion in the medium / long excursions in the mountains. Coming from fixed lenses like 20mm and 28mm, of course I can say, that is not to be compared with that type of optics, as sharpness, lack of distortion and lack of flare are not comparable. I call it a good lens for hiker / landscape artist, for those looking for a versatile lens to put in the backpack (without having to load the backpack with too many lenses) not too heavy and at the same time give back quality images.

Pros: range of focal points and quality

Cons: price of the new, lack of tropicalization

Opinion: It is an excellent quality optics, even at full opening. Excellent for reportage, it's great on both the DX (D7200) and FF (D800). In my kit he was a double of 24-70 f2.8 but... because of its small size, its versatility and the quality of the images always accompanied me while the noblest brother punctually stayed at home. Since in the end there was not that big qualitative difference that justified this redundancy of the kit, it ended up selling 24-70 and I never regretted it. I took about 100,000 images with this lens, which is robust enough to withstand heavy use. Very recommendable for reportage, it has dimensions that 'do not give in the eye', moreover it has a focal excursion that covers almost all the focal points of greatest use, reducing the need to change the optics, a not least factor if you are photographing in poor conditions; Moreover: its VR is well effective. The only negative note is the lack of tropicalization which, on the other hand, should be a fundamental and indispensable feature for a reportage optics like this. VOTE 9 well deserved

Pros: versatility

Cons: vignetting

Opinion: Taken in kit with the D750 for personal reasons and after reading good reviews. I do not regret it: very useful and versatile, especially when you do not have time to change lenses every time. Used for portraits, landscapes and details has always protected at home a good shot (sometimes great, but are personal opinions) even freehand. I recommend it to those in doubt.

Pros: Versatility. Color rendering. Weight and size.

Cons: 24mm distortion and slight decrease in quality at 120mm

Opinion: I am one of the few who bought 24-120 without having found it at home with a kit. Honestly, having read so many opinions "so" I expected worse.rnNe appreciate, in addition to the versatility, the saturated color rendition the right and faithful.rnNon I'm a fan of hyperatomic clarity and what can give this view, as far as I'm concerned it's more than enough. It is the ideal solution for situations where it is problematic to continually change lenses (eg trips or events). As an alternative to fixed, you give up a bit of quality to gain in comfort.rnWeight and space are absolutely manageable and is well balanced with "important" bodies like the D8xx.rn

sent on January 22, 2018

Pros: Very high quality handyman given the low weight and focal excursion it offers. Seen on the contrary: exceptional focal excursion for the quality it offers.

Cons: Distortion in a wide focal range (24-32mm: barrel, or "fisheye" effect - 32-85mm: bearing, that is, the lines that should be straight flex towards the center of the frame, evident for the sea line, but invisible in street scenes, nature, portraits etc.). It can still be corrected in post-production. Similarly, it applies to vignette, which is quite visible in both wide-angle and wide-angle canvases with wide diaphragms. Loss of sharpness and glows at 100-120mm per distant focus (I didn't test every single opening, but I match several of the most common). Paraluce with a jerk mount, sometimes it gets stuck and wastes time dismantling it and reassembling it.

Opinion: It's a lens that you can't not have, especially if you bring the SLR on the road, indeed you could bring only this (in fact it is my first in the Nikon FF system). 24-120mm is a focal range from which you rarely feel the need to get out, while from 24-70mm much more often. So I didn't think for a moment to save for the 24-70mm f2.8 (also because of the weight and size). The opening of f4 is enough to detach the subject in most cases (especially for me coming from the m4/3...). And this wide focal range sacrifices little in terms of quality. The optics gives photos with excellent sharpness (not razor blade, but almost) to all LFs, it seems to me, when the subject is close enough, while doing so so, but acceptably, when the subjects are far from the camera. The flare resistance seems great to me. The AF is fast enough, so far I have never wanted more readiness, and when it declares subject to fire it never makes mistakes. The stabilizer is exceptional, almost at the level of the 5 axes on the Olympus: being careful to keep the car still I shot well even at 120mm and 1/20". The construction is very good, not gorgeous but pleasant (sin for the lampshade that is sometimes mounted with difficulty). In short, the value for money is very high, since the lens begins to be a little dated and you find a lot of used them. Too bad for the only big mole, but understandable given the size, weight and price of the not so high lens: the distortion. I have only noticed it during the months of use of this optics. It is true that it is correctable in posts (if taken in RAW, although not always, in my opinion, the Nikon software "gets right"; if instead taken in JPEG, when taken by the sea or wide-angle it is better to select "Car distortion control" in the shooting menu). But it's annoying to see her continuously in virgin RAPs, and to sacrifice details at the edges of the frame by applying the correction. Sometimes it makes me want to replace the 24-120 with some fixed, although (as others have noticed) in many situations zooming is indispensable or going crazy. Everything you can't have. At this point, I wonder if the 24-70 f2.8 is better for distortion since it is "bigger" in all senses... Overall rating 9, because it is true there is distortion, but it is a bright lens, with very wide focal range and quality that is maintained from 24 mm to 120 mm, with exceptional stabilizer, and in my opinion a very great value for money. A lens so handy not found in other photo houses, at most there is 24-105.

Pros: Focal excursion, sharpness at f4, stabilization

Cons: Vignette with open diaphragms

Opinion: I've been using this lens for a few months now, the relationship between quality and price is excellent, moreover the focal excursion allows you to use the lens in almost every occasion, it's perfect for my favorite photographic genre (travel report), to be combined to a luminous fixed for greater aperture diaphragm. Nitidissimo already at f4, stabilization is something monstrous, allows you to shoot safely at times unthinkable. The vignetting is present in an important way but correctable in 1 second in post.rnVoto 9.5

Pros: Focal Range (5x), Stabilization, Sharpness, Defocused

Cons: Lack of tropicalization, Distortion at 24mm

Opinion: A great handy for FF, very satisfying. Of course the maximum aperture af / 4 is not comparable to that of a f / 2.8, but since the aperture of the constant diaphragm is at all focal points, you can get a beautiful blur with hiking beyond 70mm. Defocused which is soft and pleasing. It also has to say that he already works well at TA and is clear in all his focuses. The stabilizer does his job well, allowing you to recover 3 stops on average and shoot at times unimaginable. Vignetting is visibly present but easily eliminated. The same can not be said of the barrel distortion, heavily present at 24mm (but becomes only recoverable to 28mm). Finally it is a handyman truly impeccable. Given the high use that is inevitably destined for, tropicalization would certainly have lengthened life.

Pros: Focal range, stabilization, sharpness, versatility, value for money.

Cons: Vignetting at 24 mm even if easily corrected

Opinion: I use it on the nikon D600 with great satisfaction, versatile lens, a great handyman. Not very light but well-balanced with my car body. 24 mm vignetting easily corrected in just a few clicks. Good contrast, sharpness and color saturation already f / 4. Cons: 24mm vignetting

Opinion: What to say, I use it with satisfaction on the D610 and it's a show. The stabilizer is awesome, allowing you to shoot at times you do not even think. A handyman with excellence with a 5x hike and a constant opening f4. Boken ok with a 24 mm vignetting that is easily corrected with a click. Pros: Size, weight, focal range, stabilization, good sharpness.

Cons: For the price I can honestly find I can not find.

Opinion: The 24-120 is for me an excellent handyman. Many compare it to 28-300. For me it is sharper and the 4 mm wide wings over 28-300 make it very comfortable, maybe more than the 180 side canvases. It has excellent colors, focus is quick and is not cumbersome. Defective ok, I did portraits to f4 120mm for nothing wrong! Rather! For landscapes from f8 onwards little sticker and sharpness is also good at edges. The stabilizer works well and retrieves 2-3 average stops. I would say it's okay at almost everything even if it does not excel in anything. So handy, almost perfect! Obviously it does not achieve the sharpness, brightness and total absence of aberrations of very fixed (sigma art I possess) but this seems obvious to me being a 5X hike!

Pros: Sharpness (good even at full opening), versatility, contrasts and colors, good focal excursion, f4 constant that 120mm is not bad, nice bokeh

Cons: In 3 weeks I still did not find it, considering the value for money

Opinion: What would I say, I was looking for a good handyman who did not stain quality, and after so many searches and comparisons with other "competitors" I made my choice: the Nikkor 24-120. I found an offer of 540 euros and it came to me even the next morning ... I have discarded it as a happy child like Christmas Day! From the first shoots you immediately feel that you have something in your hand well-built and gives you a feeling of reliability and robustness as soon as you feel it on your palm. In just a few weeks I've used a lot of it, taken off only for night shots (for which I use the sammy 14mm) virtually sticking to my Nikon d5300. Honestly? I soon noticed a jump of quality in my photos, then coming from an 18-55 I thought it was a dream and it was really a huge change. Obviously, it will not be up to many fixed, but the versatility and usefulness of this lens will not make you regret anything. I'm quietEven portraits and sharpness is noticeable. For the landscapes I think it's really fun, and see how those contrasts come out and those colors make you smile. Rn For me it's clear also to TA and even 120 ... obviously, a pinch loses, but believe me, the difference is Almost imperceptible unless you have a robotic eye. The feeling in every shot is that you really struggle to take it off and that you could use it virtually for everything (almost). Even the minimum focusing distance is good, I have photos of some butterflies very close and almost you seem to have a macro, with good detail (with the due caution with the comparison, clear, NOT A Macro) .rnIn conclusion? If you are looking for a quality handyman I think this is the right choice, it's fun, the pictures are clean and sharp, the soft and pleasant bokeh and I look forward to a day on a beautiful Nikon d750 where Will surely give you even more satisfaction. Promoted to full marks!

Pros: Sharpness, stabilization, flare resistance, contrast and saturation

Cons: Vignetting and distortion

Opinion: A great lens, it gives contrasted, crisp images and saturated colors from f / 4. Stabilization is effective at other Nikon optics. The 24mm edge yield is significantly higher than that of the fixed AF-D. Good resistance to the backlight A bit of vignetting, and distortion that is not fully corrected. Autofocus in the standard. It is now bulk-packable at a low price. A versatile lens, suitable for any FF kit. Vote 9

Cons: Light TA vignetting at 24mm, uncomfortable latch in rest position.

Pros: Light-weight optics, free-to-hand weight, discreet image quality, great versatility for a wide range of focal points

Cons: Lightly plasticise construction cmq. Fairly solid overall, vignetting to TA at 24 mm and QI not superb

Opinion: It is a good lens with no infamy and no praise, certainly versatile suitable for making light outputs where you want to bring with you only one optic that can solve most of the usual situations where from the wide angle you go to the middle tele .rn For me on D810 reveals cmq. A non-high, decent discretionary QI, certainly not comparable to fixed and bright optics, cmq. His work brings him home very well. It's a bit too much for what it offers, in many cases it's sold at 1000 euros, cost me totally unjustified and not in line with the optics offered. RnVignette at 24 mm so Very obvious, but just a small click with Photoshop and everything resolves, so I do not consider it a big handicap. This offers a wide range of focal points (from this point of view is unique) all with a fixed maximum aperture of af / 4, The sharpness at TA is good as well as the nice bokeh.rnVoto globale: 7

Pros: Versatility, weight and size, sharpness, stabilizer

Cons: Vignetting at 24mm

Opinion: For a few months this part I use this lens and I'm really happy with the D610. I was looking for something versatile and light but it also had good quality, I often go to the mountains and obviously pointing to the lightness! I would never have believed but it is always mounted on the car! The MAF is really a bomb, both in speed and under low light conditions. The only "flaws" are the 24mm vignetting and TA but it's all solvable with two clicks, and the hood I would have preferred a bit more solid because in many situations it is easy to get rid of, but you have to know how to deal with what you have. . Finally, I can only recommend it to those who like me needs a versatile, lightweight lens, and that makes images of all respect!

Pros: Very versatile, very useful in many situations ....

Cons: For now nobody

Opinion: I was undecided until the end, choose between 24/70 Tamron that I have heard very good and Nikon 24/120. In the end I thought maybe a goal that instead of stopping at 70 came to 120 I would have been more useful, so I decided on the Nikon and I must say I was very pleased with the choice made, not to mention that while the acquistavo 24/120 , on merchant's counter was also for sale a beautiful and timeless 35/70 Nikon 2.8 in excellent condition, not opaque, which I thought to buy. Moral of the story with 750 euro I have two beautiful Nikon.

Cons: Unnecessary hood mounted and uncomfortable in rest position

Opinion: I had 24-70 f2.8 then to finance other purchases and since I often traveled 70mm shorts I went through many doubts at 24-120. After 4 months of use the doubts have been canceled: the focal range is great, fantastic but the amazing thing is the quality of the picture that in many ways does not differ from 24-70; Agl'angoli a minimum of vignetting there but solvable quietly in pp. The blur is nice and if the shorter focal points obviously have the advantage of 24-70 there is the greatest focal length in the portraits it forgets that it is not 2.8. Pros: Focus excursion, build quality, compactness, stabilization

Cons: It doesn't shine for sharpness and is nervous with artificial light... The results are often unpredictable.

Opinion: I bought this lens as soon as it came out, wanting a handyman who wouldn't make me regret the 24-70 f2.8 G (bigger, heavier, and with too limited focal excursion). What to say : on paper is fantastic, f4 constant, tropicalized, stabilized, relatively small and light! Too bad it's a mediocre lens in all respects. I just do not understand how many do to say that it is a good optics, when the results are pasty and inconsistent with whatsase machine body. From 100mm up there is a noticeable loss of definition, in contrast light behaves very badly and lacks sharpness at each focal point. I switched to SIGMA 24-105 ART and entered another world, there are just no comparisons: A blade, in some cases better than the 24-70 G of Nikon ! (I own both).

Cons: at maximum zoom range at TA loses a bit 'of sharpness

Opinion: I use it with satisfaction on D700 as a lens handyman, produces good quality file, the focus is fast and stabilization allows shots that would otherwise not be possible. Opinion: The lens was the Nikon D750 Kit purchased towards the end of December. Tested under varying conditions, especially extreme, they confirmed major design progress. Strengths: MAF instantaneous, precise and silent. Excellent stabilization. Feeling build quality and precision assembly. great clarity to medium openings. exceptional focus. The brightness fixing is definitely an advantage, as well as a discreet sharpness. Opinion: Purchased as a kit along with the d750 I find myself getting photos that I dreamed I d200 and ML I had with zoom also decent (like the Fuji XF 18-55 2.8-4). A 50 mm practically do not see significant differences with my 50 1.8d (apart aperutra), and 'crystal clear and more that a view from kits, distortion and' in line with the other zoom even more expensive and prestigious, just a more high but resolves pelino in pP with a click (who does architectural picture has dedicated objectives). It suffers from some chromatic aberration (like 90% of the zoom) but nothing incorrigible and against the light gets along quite well. The construction seems good and partly and 'metal, and' tropical conditions and returns exceptional photos. I do not know what else to add or what else we can expect from a zoom like that. Cons: sharpness and distortion at full aperture

Opinion: The lens is one of my favorites because of its convenience: for most of the outputs can only take the car with him and take home great shots. However, the sharpness at full aperture is not the best. Compared with 105 at 2.8 sigma, he loses no doubt, but you can not expect the impossible from a handyman. The distortion to 24 is evident, for example is significantly greater than the sigma 12-24 at 24mm, but with the new software system is lightroom type with a click. Vignetting is less intrusive than I expected, but overall I like c'è.rnNel and use it a lot, with the awareness of its limitations. Opinion: Bought one month ago. I put it under strain. He behaved very well. I am fully satisfied with this objective. I used it in many conditions (high mountains, in the rapids, interiors, caves, crypts, etc ...) and in each of them gave the best of themselves. In dark places I was very surprised his vr, which is unobtrusive under normal conditions (when set to normal), but once set to active freezes everything, I took in caves and crypts overrun by huge bats freehand without problems coming to 1/4 second I had a shake-imperceptible. For portraits I really like to 120mm they are pulled out of the fantastic portraits. I do not regret at all that I have this lens instead of the 24-70 f2.8. Pros: Handyman covering many important focal, fast and silent AF.

Cons: High price for a handyman, vignetting very obvious, such as distortion, which involves a lot of correction in Camera Lucida

Opinion: Taken as a kit with the D750. I thought, considering the price of optics if purchased separately, it was better. The vignetting is very strong to 24mm in particular with focus to infinity and present at all focal lengths. The closure of the diaphragm solves only in part. PP is resolved but I think this reduces the quality of the edges of the corrected image. Distortion is important for wide-angle and TA. My impression is that Nikon has deliberately forced the aim to overcome their competitors in terms of numbers to put on the box vendita.rnOvviamente on DX improves (or there are fewer defects because the edges are excluded from the sensor) but at that point you lose the wide angle, it is worth considering the cost? rnIl weight not cheap but very tolerable replacing the strap of the standard SLR with a wrapping machine on fianco.rnLo buy back? Opinion: It 's my handyman! It 'sa high-quality optics that can give always great shots ranging from wide angle to medium telephoto. Great for reportage for example. The VR is awesome (retrieving 4stop seamlessly with the d700 .. maybe less with a sensor demanding ..), and can always be useful for example in situations where you prefer to be light without a tripod (viaggi..). The yield is very very good at any focal length, even at room temperature! species at the center .. diaphragm better if you want good edges and folds to increase generally the micro-across the frame. I've used both D700 and D90 now on I can say that on DX is just as good although not as "handyman" as on full frame: we exclude the edges that they sometimes lack f4 species cause vignetting!
