Pros: Image quality, good AF, articulated screen, larger battery

Cons: Unintuitive menu system; limited magnification in playback

Opinion: The X-T4 is a significant step forward compared to the previous model: while using the same sensor, it adds image stabilization and a hugely larger battery (it goes from 8.7Wh to 16Wh). The latter is something that really makes the difference in the field: despite not having the autonomy of other flagships, it is still much better than the X-T3, and allowed me to shoot for a long time (taking full advantage of the LCD screen) without worrying about running out of battery. The image quality is at the level of the best APS-C sensors: fully usable up to 3200 ISO, or even 6400 in the right conditions and provided you accept a little grain. RAW files, with the default option (uncompressed) are very heavy - about 55-60MB - so it is worth considering the lossless and lossy compression options as well; as a source of an almost imperceptible decrease in quality, the weight of the file is halved. The workability of the files is excellent; we have a wide dynamic range and good resolution. During my test, I used the X-T4 in two areas: landscape and portrait. For portraits (in combination with the 50 f/1.0) I made extensive use of the eye-AF and I greatly appreciated its precision and good speed; in the landscapes obviously there is no way to thoroughly test the autofocus, but even here I appreciated the accuracy, since in playback the possible magnification is more limited than the average, and it is difficult to be sure of a perfect focus (but fortunately I did not have bad surprises). As for the interface, the Fujifilm system is quite different from the other mirrorless, with more rings and manual controls; it takes a little time to get used to, but once I took the hand I had no difficulty. I greatly appreciated the fully articulated screen, which I personally find more comfortable and flexible than the partial joint used by previous Fuji. My main criticism of this model (and Fuji in general) is the menu system, which I find less intuitive than the competitors; even the custom menu inexplicably does not allow you to add some functions, including formatting tab (which I use very frequently). Overall, the impression on the X-T4 is positive, and it is the camera that I would recommend to those who want to build an APS-C kit: Fujifilm is the only brand that is really developing this format, and has the best range of APS-C lenses among the current mirrorless.

Pros: Colorimetry, impressive value for money, user experience, construction (for materials and tropicalization), immediacy in use, EVF and sharp and faithful displays, battery.

Cons: Not so bright autofocus, Eye-AF unstable, Tiny joystick, lack of a rear bezel instead of the d-pad, APS-C sensor still limited, fragile painting, weights and dimensions ALMOST from FF, RAF file previews not visible on MacOs

Opinion: A crazy colorimetry, beautiful simulations for jpg and integrated profiles already perfect for raw. A unique user experience, immediate and easy. Super battery, super data sheet both in photos and videos. EVF and display with excellent quality and color fidelity. The grip is non-existent compared to other brands, but the ergonomics of the machine requires a completely different type of grip and therefore does not make it weigh. I literally fell in love with it for these aspects. It was hated instead for many others: improved autofocus but not so bright and reliable, eye-af stability light years away from sony and canon, biblical card writing times after long exposures, paint peeled in several places without shocks, menus still confusing, Joystick really too small, touchscreen only partial. APS-C vs. FF? For dynamic range I did not hear leaks, for ISO seal not even since the noise is pleasant and pertinent to the Fuji "philosophy" (although the difference is obvious and evident already from 400 ISO). Instead, I noticed big differences on the detail of the photos, reduced by the small sensor, reduced again by many old optics in the Fuji ecosystem and reduced even more if you do not use Capture One as an editor. Photographing landscapes with vegetation and probably birdlife without using C1 is still impossible due to artifacts, much less problems for portraiture and "street". It must be tried!

Pros: construction, ergonomics, stabilization, film simulation, video, double menu, adjustment rings.

Cons: uncertain autofocus

Opinion: Before the X-T4 purchased used, I had Nikon D750 and Fuji X-T20. I have been using the X-T4 for about 4 months and I must say that it is a valid camera, the weight for me is important and the camera body and related XF optics facilitate the day compared to the Nikon. The X-T20 was for me a pleasant discovery that in fact retired the Nikon but was too small for my hands, that's the reason for the transition to X-T4. I admit that the difference with nikon's FF can be seen even if the jpegs of the X-T4 are very valid, at high Iso the noise comes earlier but I think it is normal, the autofocus does not have the responsiveness of a reflex and does not have the accuracy of maf. It is built very well, excellent materials. I get better photos with the 55-200, the 18-55 in my opinion went better with the X-T20. It is remarkable to be able to choose the film simulation that by adjusting color, chrome allows you to get a shot with the faithful colors. If you download the Fuji raw program you can use the X-T4 software directly on the PC and make the changes. Believe me that videos are EXCEPTIONAL. Unlike photographs, autofocus in video mode never loses the subject. I have a Canon camcorder and in its favor there is only the zoomed but otherwise the image quality of Fuji is higher. Anyway it is a good purchase.

Pros: Image quality, film simulations, stabilization, adjustment rings, workable files

Cons: Clarity function, battery life

Opinion: I bought it as a replacement for the XT20, but in the end the difference was not as noticeable as I expected. Yes, there are many more adjustments in the menu and the film simulations ultimately have better details. But I was baffled when I entered the clarity mode and saw the delay in image processing appear in the viewfinder. From Fuji, so careful in the design of its cameras, I would not have expected it! Perhaps this XT4 still needed a few months of "running-in" before being put on sale. I hope that soon the problem will be solved with a prompt firmware update. In addition, in the same way, the film has an abnormal consumption. Absurd!

Pros: Stabilization, vintage look, articulated display, exceptional film simulations, pleasure of photographing

Cons: grip and ergonomics not great (but this depends on the vintage setting of the camera), autofocus still improvable.

Opinion: The X-T4 is a mature apsc mirrorless camera. In my opinion the best mirrorless apsc on the market and also the most complete ... Sony on apsc still lags behind Fuji in everything except autofocus where the Sony system commands great. I hope that the next X-T5 has an autofocus comparable to that of Sony, because even today Fuji remains behind and you can see a lot. It is obvious that 90% of the photographs the X-T4 takes home quietly, for example landscape photos, portraits, still life, macro, street photography and all other static genres ... it suffers instead in the most dynamic photographic genres such as sports, birdlife and fast-moving fauna, and moving portraits where it tends to lose focus on the subject's eye or in any case never gives the feeling of extreme security that the latest Canon and Sony cameras give. Another "defect not defect" now well known is the ergonomics not at the top because of its retro look ... The merits are certainly the feeling of pleasure in photographing with this camera and all (many) merits (even in the video) already reported in the other reviews that preceded mine. Overall the X-T4 is an almost perfect apsc camera but I am confident that Fuji with future products will improve its (very few) weaknesses.

Pros: AF, Battery, EVF, IBIS, Fujifilm Film Simulations, File Quality and Workability, Video Capability (File Workability, Scenario Reading, Af), Complementarity with Capture One, Sensor

Cons: Articulated monitor, a little bit about ergonomics

Opinion: The X-T4 was the replacement for my previous X-T3, a machine with which it shares (as you well know) the sensor and film simulations (except for the addition of Classic Neg, beautiful). The novelties / differences, although few, are consistent and, in my opinion, mask almost all the relatives mentioned above and not. Starting from the battery, especially in a video use, the difference I found is enormous: sometimes it touches three times the capacity of the old NP-W126. Another noteworthy and equally important difference is the stabilization, which I find to date the best together with that of the Panasonic-S system, allows you to work in absolute tranquility in handheld and consequently increases the creative possibilities. As for the machine itself, my level of satisfaction is high: fabulous EVF as well as Fuji film simulations that give character and an important imprint to the files without compromising their workability. Since I switched to Fuji my workflow has also been speeded up thanks to the latter, especially if you use Capture One for editing. It is a machine that I recommend to those who make a hybrid use of photo / video and want to have a powerful, beautiful machine with a park of optics made (almost all) with great care and build quality. If you do not let yourself be overwhelmed by the syndrome of "Bigger sensor = better photos" this machine in addition to the Fuji optical system will allow you to take away great satisfaction (and also save a few euros, try it to believe), "even if you have to work on it" (like me). I am now happy owner of: X-T4, X-H1, X-PRO3, X-E3 in combination with 23mm f2; 35mm 1.4; 16-55 2,8; 50-140 2.8 and a Sigma 18-35 1.8 adapted with a Fringer (another superlative lens on Fuji's sensor).

Pros: Afs , afc , ibis , operation, jpg files , articulated screen , xf optics , battery , lack of AA filter , tropicalization , support processing files from machine to dated pc , film simulations , shutter tested for 300,000 cycles

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Very complete machine with the possibility of being spent in different genres, moreover every creative idea is easily applicable. Excellent xf optics, possibility to use the xt4 processor to process files from a PC with a special cable. I will update the review later after intensive use in the field, for the moment I reserve the right to provide further information. Update 11/09/2021 : Afc with single absurd maf point , more precise and responsive than Sony a7iii , I did not expect such a performance from this xt4 coupled to 90mm wr , I was thrilled to the point of deciding to keep my Fuji kit consisting of 35 xf 1.4 , 56 1.2 xf and 90 wr .. coming soon on 18 -55 f2.8 -4 to have all the coverage I need, for sure as soon as I can open the studio I take a 'xt3 used by rce possibly in 2022 to 700 coffees.

Pros: Light, "charming", excellent sensor, iso seal (best aps-c), quality optics.

Cons: Maybe a little ergonomics.

Opinion: Really effective machine, coming from FF kit (CANON EOS 6D) no regrets, excellent RAF files, excellent workability, respectable optical park, excellent burst shot, absolutely perfect electronic viewfinder, among the best on the market, the high iso seal is excellent bearing in mind that it is "only" aps-c, maybe the AF occasionally not lightning fast, solvable with SW update. The . Jpeg churning out the machine are perfect if then coupled to film simulations.

Pros: Construction, aesthetics, ease of use, sensor stabilization, tropicalization

Cons: No sensor protection system during lens change.

Opinion: I bought it in February 2021 (after selling the Nikon FX kit) so that my photo kit would drop in weight, without losing in quality, and to date, I am happy with the choice made. The aesthetics are great, the materials are great and the menu is done well. I do not feel the problem of grip for the right hand (perhaps because I do not have very big hands) and I believe that the current one is enough. The battery life is good and the hold at high ISOs as well, given the pixel density at mmq (I would have preferred a sensor with the JPEG churning out are great and you can indulge in the many film simulations fuji offers. Video side nothing to say because I only use it for photos.

Pros: Silent shutter like a breath. Construction. Stabilization. Aesthetic. Articulated LCD. Everything has already been said about the quality of Fuji files.

Cons: Full frame dimensions. There is no sensor protection system by changing the lens. Autofocus is still below the best competition.

Opinion: The camera is really nice, probably the most beautiful in the current market offer. Excellent construction materials and waterproofing systems. the menus, despite the increase in functions, have been revised with a logic of (a certain) simplification; they are still the best, along with Canon, among those I know. The "breath" of the (mechanical) shutter is barely perceptible and when other cars are then used it seems to switch from a hybrid car to a diesel. There has been a lot of talk about an alleged inadequacy of grip for the right hand: I believe that between the advantage of a smaller footprint with a leaner line and the disadvantage of unbalance with long objectives, the former must prevail. The number of functions contained in this model is really exaggerated, and we have to give ourselves a reason for the fact that, while studying and engaging, we will only use a small part of it. The quality of the files produced is absolutely the top of Fuji and I can't see any difference with the best ff if not - just - over 12,800 iso. The screen is extremely articulated and handy and beautiful the ability to "store" it so as to protect the screen by showing an even more retro clean back. There is, however, a hard price to pay: the misalignment between the image-lens axis and the disased screen on the left creates some difficulties. Too bad that to hold all the functions that the XT4 has, including the excellent stabilization, Fuji failed to further miniaturize the camera, which is bulky than the ff. Sony is not perfect for street photos, making you feel the need for a second "minimalist" body. For autofocus I still find it difficult to use in motion in low lights, which increase using some older Fujinon designed type 56 1.2 or 60 2.4.

Pros: Professional machine. Perfect maf, command management, colors, burst, stabilization, amazing jpg even if I use them little.

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Recently purchased, and shot little more, but the first impressions are really positive. A bet x me coming from Canon pro equipment. It's a completely different world, but those who spoke to me in enthusiastic ways about Fuji didn't overdo it. For the moment I have paired her with two valuable lenses such as 16-55 2.8. and 90 f.2, and the set churns out remarkable photos. The video side of which they say wonders I haven't tried it yet, I'm interested in the photographic part

Pros: Articulated lcd screen, stabilized, 4K 60fps and video recording on both sd.

Cons: Shoulder hook position

Opinion: After years of Nikon from Dx to Fx, I switched to this gorgeous X-T4 that I have to say is giving me great results both in photos and in the video. Beautiful optics for construction and yield in the xf series it is difficult to discard one, even just for the pleasure of having it. The state-of-the-art lightness for xt4 when mounting lenses of the f2 series, very fast and discreet with a wonderful yield and ideal for the street.

Pros: Stabilized, Body Pro, Infinite Battery (with exceptional grip battery), fully articulated screen

Cons: Small battery grip handle (when used with pro lenses), trappings arrangement for shoulder strap

Opinion: First fuji room, passed by Nikonista let's say convinced. The feeling was immediate, for me it was a double turn, new menus and first mirrorless ever. Time a few hours and already I had customized it and "made mine". The 3 batteries, guarantee 1400 shots. I on a wedding day I got to 800 on a body machine and I had just finished the first (with a 30% of photos taken through lcd ). Great screen, totally articulated, for creative photos from above or at ground level without conciseness. Autofocus very very reliable, even in low light and very fast (even with 1.2/1.4 optics). Up to 5000/6400 iso files that can be used and printable in large sizes. It's APSC but you quickly forget about this "limit". In my opinion perfect for weddings and ceremonies, even in the studio has already given me great satisfaction anyway. I have to test it well with regard to the use we say "sporty" and "cynophile" but I think that customizing and using well the continuous autofocus will give me great satisfaction. What to say, maybe switching from Xt3 to Xt4 does not make much sense (except for those who make videos)... however if I were to buy new, I think it is currently among the best rooms to choose from. The only counters found are the handle ( but you know ) without battery grip, and the strange arrangement of the hooks to which to fasten the shoulder strap. I use peak design and occasionally find them uncomfortable. For the rest perfect machine.

Pros: Stabilized sensor, tropicalized, battery life

Cons: It is mandatory to purchase the charger separately.

Opinion: Assuming that I am a photo-amateur and not a professional, who has changed so many cameras to lose count, going from Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Leica (when digital was still a dream or nightmare, depending on the case), always looking for the perfect car for me, finally the Fuji Xt4 seems to be. I bought it recently, but the first impression is great. It is lighter than a FF, especially its objectives, and this is a determining factor for me; It has a sensor finally stabilized (and this does not hurt), it is tropicalized and the original battery finally lasts a long time. I was in the shelter two days and I had only one battery with me: the charge lasted for the whole two days and also allowed me to take night photographs with long times without ever running out. I was pleasantly amazed. I still have to test the non-original battery to see if it lasts as long. With the Fujifilm XF 16-55 f 2.8 lens it is a pleasure to take photos. I am satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: Sensor, autonomy, AF, IQ, JPG, noise signal performance, stabilization (definitely the video part)

Cons: dedicated battery,

Opinion: I have the impression that this XT-4 is a complete camera perhaps the best APS-C on the market (Year 2020) excellent AF excellent autonomy (compared to the previous) very good signal-noise management, excellent JPG ready in the car, only sore note the dedicated battery, for those who arrive as but from the world fuji (X100F, XT-2) the "old" batteries you can not use anymore. For the rest everything a step up the XT-3 and something more than a step for the XT-2. The video part I do not use so I can not judge (but others say that it is very performing)

Pros: Weight, battery, Orientable Screen, Separate Menu between photos and movies, 15 fps, etc.

Cons: So far nothing

Opinion: Given that I used Xt1, Xt2, Xt3 and Xh1, I can say that Fuji with XT4 has managed to take it a step further and who says that it is equal or similar to XT3 is wrong and by a lot! Very handy, jpg files as beautiful as always and Raw with greater dynamic range (albeit a little) to XT3. Finally a battery that really lasts. I battered her for several days and it still doesn't end. With its ideal partner Fuji 16-55 f2.8 is the ultimate. Great. very much satisfied with the purchase.
