Pros: light

Cons: battery, toy feel

Opinion: Meanwhile, I'm not great as a photographer so I could say castronate ... I have an old 5d and a D1000. The first impression is that on the rp there are many facilities... But for those who are used to old-style cars, it seems a bit complicated to do what you generally do. The battery ran out practically after about 100 shots (who knows why) I have to understand- Maybe it was the first charge? I found in the package the RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM and honestly I was not very excited. The handle and lightness do a lot.

Pros: autofocus, lightness, compatible ef optics

Cons: I would say nothing

Opinion: I've had this car for a few days. I come from different FF experiences, from Nikon d800 to sony a7rII,... Canon for me was now the choice, I just gave up a 1D mkIV to return to a 7d mkII to do sports and birdlife. At this point no longer having an FF for landscapes and portraits I chose this one. And it churns out great files, with great colors and easy to handle in PP! The battery defect? well, if you put the standby a few seconds ago you have the day and putting a spare battery in your bag is cheap... lightness has its compromises. Last thing, I have big hands and therefore I use it with the handle, even with heavy optics I have no problems. Beware of the choice of the EF adapter, I have the Viltrox but it sucks and dances already, now I take the canon.

Pros: Image quality, Full Frame, Autofocus, Tropicalization, Value for money, Ergonomics, Compactness, Perfect backward compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses via adapter.

Cons: Battery life, slow burst.

Opinion: I have always avoided theoretical photographers preferring practical ones. Those who go out to take pictures with the RP will find a machine with a fabulous file rendering. 26 megapixels are enough for everything, they are clean and with a characteristic color that distinguishes the Canon. Of course, its relative slowness does not make it an ideal candidate for sports or bird photos, but the excellent autofocus would not penalize it, it would only be a burst problem that here stops at only 4 f / s. Many call it "the great misunderstood", indeed, this is how practical photographers define it that under 1000 euros they take home a product with an unbeatable value for money. The real touch and fully articulated monitor (nothing to do for example with the limited one of other brands) has done and continues to make school so much so that other brands are also adopting it. Honestly, apart from the slow burst and a not excellent autonomy due to the use of the LP-E17 I can not find other defects. With RF lenses it is at its best, but it does the same with EF lenses via the EF-RF adapter. Indeed, with their low price and still high quality, EF lenses have new life and without front or back focus problems. Last note: it is also robust contrary to what is said. The body transfers a feeling of great solidity.

Pros: Weight, manageability, tilting screen, touch, high iso, FF, price

Cons: Slow burst , battery life

Opinion: I note with great regret that this machine has been slaughtered by criticism. For me it does its job honestly, the only flaw I found is the slow burst that makes it unsuitable for sports photography. I am not interested in when I do not do sports shots, I use it exclusively for photo shoots and rarely for landscape shots where 26 mp are more than enough. If attached to L series lenses also through adapter I guarantee that it churns out excellent photographs. Personally I use it in pairs with the Tamron 70-200 G2 and the Sigma 50mm f1.4. For video I have no experience in as I am not a videomaker . For the price both new and used I do not find defects , you can not ask for more to this body

Pros: To date, the best value for money for an FF, compatibility with the old batteries of the M series, ergonomics.

Cons: Burst, absence of the third ring, compensated by the adapter (with ring) that costs an eye of the head!

Opinion: I come from years of 400D, and then move on to mirrorless with the M3, now a few days ago I finally switched to RP, the first feeling I had was the feeling of having a much more solid and professional system in my hand. Both as an invoice, and the photos that he manages to pull out ... The difference is abysmal! Obviously compared to the older sisters R, R6 and R5, there are many gaps, but for an amateur photographer like me, it is in my opinion the right compromise!

Pros: Value for money, Full Frame, Autofocus, Tropicalization, Ergonomics (especially adding the optional Grip), Perfect backward compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses (with the adapter, which is often included!), churns out excellent jpegs, good yield at high ISO.

Cons: Battery life, slow burst, old generation sensor, a bit lacking on the video side.

Opinion: I call her "the Great Misunderstood". In my opinion it offers a lot, for the price at which it is found online today (but it had already dropped considerably a few months after launch). It is suitable for more or less all genres, except sports/action photography (due to the slow burst) and 4K video use (too many limitations).

Pros: Versatility, price/performance ratio, good image quality, very favorable weight and dimensions, reliable and precise autofocus (with RF lenses).

Cons: Very poor battery life, over 6,400 iso the noise is quite evident and unpleasant, some details such as the flip of the display and the battery door know fragile and must be handled with care.

Opinion: My assessment is basically positive. I start from the price of 1,000 euros for the body, for which sincerely and honestly you can not ask for more. The autofocus is responsive and always very precise, the integration with RF lenses has succeeded. Please note: with the adapter you can safely use EF lenses but with RF lenses everything works significantly better. In addition, when mounting EF lenses, there is an obvious imbalance between small body and bulky and heavy lenses. The gust is slow. To have a faster burst, however, you would need a more performing processor capable of continuously managing rather large files, af tracking and a faster burst: there is on the higher models and this has its own logic. The battery door really conveys the impression of fragility: treat carefully. To contain the external dimensions they have also "sawn" the battery: to suffer, of course, is the autonomy that does not go beyond 300 shots. They are just a few. The quality of the photographs produced is really good in my opinion, there is chromatic fidelity, a good engraving and the automatic white balance with environmental priority works very well, even in the shadows. The sum of the whole is, for me, positive.

Pros: Af, sensor full of details, Canon colors, L optics, fully adjustable screen, fluid, simple.

Cons: High iso , 4K af side, battery

Opinion: At 1000 you have a machine derived from the most emblazoned R, af that does not miss a shot in dynamics with my 135 L, warm colors, good sharpness, 26 mpx rich in detail, the Ef optics are better than on the DSRL, very versatile, FHD videos excellent especially for the canon dual pixel af, great for the web. Better machine than a 5diii and a 6dii , certainly does not have the sensor of the 5d IV , but its af is better and that Screen adjustable by many possibilities in self-portraits , especially with my 50 1.2 pull out a lot of beautiful compositions . Buy 2 or three batteries, mount good optics and you will be amazed by this small full frame as long as you know the limits and use it on a tripod or stady / flycam for FHD videos. Pros: Lightweight, compact, good grip, touch, quick and easy to use

Cons: Dynamic range, shadow retrieval in pp

Opinion: I've had it for 2 years and I'm going to move on to R5, I don't know if I'll keep it as a second body or if I'll keep it (we'll see). This camera has been slaughtered a little bit by everyone and often unfairly. No one understood that it is a FF with almost compact size and very low price, which has an adjustable display with a touch worthy of an iPhone, EVF more than satisfactory, beautiful aesthetically and also to the touch. I also use it with the Sigma ART 85mm f/1.4 which weighs 1.2 kg (which combined with the EF-RF adapter becomes 1.3 kg) then three times the same RP that weighs just over 450 grams and without additional grip. The AF is excellent and eye tracking is also good. Great for all genres except sports. Those who do sports genre or videos of a certain level will not even watch this machine. Unfortunately it does not have an excellent dynamic range and the recoveries of pp shadows generate noise... but if you shoot under the "right" conditions the files you find are very beautiful and often you don't have to do anything about it in pp. It has so many futures that not even more famous machines have.

Pros: Comfortable and light, details and color rendering.

Cons: Silent shot non-existent. Test bench of the R system with several gaps. Shameful battery, it's not an LP-E6N, you barely get to 350 shots.

Opinion: For those coming from the DSLR system you will find a menu identical to all the other Canons. Great Jpeg files, high definition compared to 5D. Initial management of the AF a bit cumbersome and unintuitive. Very good dynamic range management. Battery not up to performance. Non-existent silent shot for those who need to photograph in ceremonies. Used as a second body machine on the outside, she behaved well. Very effective for studio shots, great details. If you need a second body and also FF, used should cost about 800/900€. 4FPS more than enough for all uses. Very convenient adjustable display. I would say that as an initial test for the R system they could do more.

Pros: For the price range it offers so much

Cons: Delicate battery compartment

Opinion: Excellent mirrorless unjustly mistreated by critics. Modern autofocus that hardly misses a beat. More than good viewfinder that takes up the same information as the display. Buttons and rings well arranged. Touch similar to a modern smartphone. Excellent grip and more than satisfactory materials to the touch. Full-bodied munu but easy to use. JPEG ready in the car with the typical Canon colors. Not great battery but nothing so outrageous either. This machine can safely meet the needs and expectations of the user range for which it is designed. The only drawback is the quality of the closure of the battery compartment that is very delicate. Highly recommended.

Pros: Weight, price, size, autofocus and operation

Cons: Battery, uncomfortable multifunction button, construction

Opinion: I've had rp for about a year, I didn't have a Canon from the 1100D I started with and ran away from in other beaches. I must say I was pleasantly impressed. Amazing machine for operating speed, immediate as menu and controls, except for the m-fn button which for me is in an uncomfortable position; the size of the RP is exceptional for a full frame, it almost looks like a compact to the point that these days I am thinking of divesting the m4/3 that I have only for a matter of size. At the level of IQ and noise it seems to me proportionate to the value of the machine, the viewfinder is acceptable, the autofocus (FW 1.6) is really good is not like that of the older sisters but certainly does not disfigure, eye-Af usable; only flaws the battery that leaves something to be desired (but it is true that the model is very widespread I took a second original for 40€). I think that construction is barely sufficient, not from the idea of solidity, but it is true that the value must be commensurate with the price.

Pros: Weight and size, grip and general ergonomics, menu and focus stacking (for those who use it), quality images

Cons: Battery life, uncomfortable menu button position

Opinion: I have had the Canon RP for about 1 year: I am fully satisfied with it, at least for the type of photos I take (mainly portraits, street, macro and some indoor sports). For years I have been using SLRs, and from now on I really appreciate the savings in weight and dimensions (especially when used with dedicated RF optics), while maintaining good ergonomics and a firm grip. The menu is very intuitive and rich. The autofocus I define excellent both as settings and in its operation especially for street and portraits, with a reserve for action photos where from good results even if there are also more responsive AF on the market (I had a 7D2...). The image quality is also excellent: 26 Mpx I find them perfect, a right size. Batteries are short-lived, but it also depends on how they are used; I solved by buying a spare battery and I have no more problems. At least 2 if not 3 batteries are needed, and the additional expense must be taken into account. Highly recommended if you want to travel light without sacrificing quality.

Pros: Image quality, weight, size, canon menu, command arrangement

Cons: battery*, screen*

Opinion: I bought it as a second body for work and as a travel camera for walking, traveling and so on. It is small and light, with a very curious and attractive ergonomics. It's in the backpack and even if the little finger comes out of the handle, it doesn't bother. I like the image quality and I can work on it with serenity. The screen* is slightly less than R, too bad. The battery obviously lasts less than the R, it is less capacious but I have 2 and I have the battery pack, olè! The AF is very good although I guess it's not at the level of R5 or R6. Video side.. I never make videos.

Pros: Beautiful - comfortable - well-made materials and buttons all easily accessible

Cons: nobody perora

Opinion: Second-hand grip at a good price with adapter. I'm aiming for the 50mm stm 1.8. Together they are phenomenal. Small and comfortable lens and unbeatable priced camera beautiful fast and easily customizable. Autofocus I think is great. I come from years of Fujifilm and I have to say that the recovery of the lights and shadows is "different". with Fuji maybe you could recover something more, with Canon a little less, but I do not consider this a big problem because you really have to top a photo to not be able to make a good post production. I took pictures around and my little dog and I have to say that the autofocus does not miss a beat! Beautiful advice and at a finally acceptable price you have a respectable fullframe. Allow me: Canon colors are unique!

Pros: Ergonomics, held up to 1600 iso, reduced grain

Cons: Sharpness, colors, battery

Opinion: Arrival in chronological order from a 200d, from a 6d and before that from a 1200d. From the point of view of use and the software equipment in the room you can only talk about it well, the graininess of the photos in average conditions is really good compared to the models I had before (the 200d was already very good) and the iso seal is definitely better. As for the overall image quality, however, I found even a slight deterioration compared to the 200d. I'm not satisfied.

Pros: Ergonomics, operational speed, good quality of jpg

Cons: Battery life, laying latitude, good but not great sensor, brain autofocus

Opinion: Unjustly mistreated, it's a machine that needs to be understood. It does not want to challenge the flagships with the datasheet, but it is directed to those looking for a good tool for photography. The strong point is the operational speed. You bring it to your eyes and with the new PV mode combined with the Fn key you can change the settings without lowering the camera. Thinking about it I was nostalgic for the direct access keys! Comfortable with medium/small hands. Interesting some features such as Focus Bracketing or touch focus. I can't tell if the focus is as fast as advertised, but with the 24 105 it's definitely fast. Coming from a 6D I got into a lot of fights with the autofocus system. Everything is studying on it and resigning itself to the abandonment of the few AF points. Batteries don't last indefinitely, but in practice they hold more than stated. I recommend keeping a spare one in your pocket. Compared to 6D, the sensor improvement is not obvious; it doesn't impress, but it doesn't disappoint either. Here, too, we need to organize: using the DPP, the management of the RAW improves a lot. Great color rendering, impress the Jpgs.

Pros: handling, af, ease of use, FF, Focus staking and rangemeter

Cons: Dynamic range, display meter, battery menu button in the top left, tropicalization.

Opinion: I find it a great FF entry level, great detail, excellent iso seal, lightning af and excellent features not present in some upper machines. What disappointed me a little is the display meter, does not work very well and often you are forced to overexpose by 2 stops. The dynamic range is not the best but being a landscaper hardly snap without bkt. Another thing that doesn't go down is the additional grip at the price of 100 euros. a piece of plastic without any function I find it highly out of the market. I'm glad I bought it and I hope you can do some updates to correct via software some flaws in the machine. Highly recommended for those who want to experience the FF.

Pros: Full Frame, lightness, servo af in videos, adapter ring and complete compatibility with EF-EF-s optics, optical viewfinder with fairly accurate evaluative exposure, discreet versatility of the tilt screen, customizable in the controls , semi-automatic management and automatic even for newbies; in-room crop (x1.6), with the additional grip (EG-E1 ) is handy even for those with a bit of bigger hands; familiar commands and functions for those who have already used an EOS system; HDR full HD video more than enough (for unprofessional use), IBIS for video shooting Connectivity with APP , Eye AF IMPRESSIONANTE !!! , rechargeable with power bank.

Cons: Native optics (RF) still very expensive. Dynamic range (although proportionate to class), battery (already optimized in exchange for a few less features/performance). The standard adapter ring is the "basic" one (there are 3) great if you mix from EF to RF but the advantage of compactness as mirrorless you lose it (even if you mount a pancake) the shutter sound is RIDICOLO , and the silent snap mode is usable only in 1 "scene mode" (perhaps the most serious sin !)

Opinion: The machine has the advantage of being full frame to be proportionate to the market price for perstations and functions has strengths that could even be improved and make it even more enforceable. For example, if it had the silent click that can be selected even in Manual it would increase its value and its versatility as well because, do not tell me anything, but the shutter on a mirrorless for me makes a ridiculous noise... Spend a few euros to buy the grip (EG-E1) that does not bring any advantage from the point of view of autonomy but if you have big hands... you'll have a wandering pinky less than the basic version of the RP in addition to the fact that aesthetically it is cute and ergonomic perfectly complements the design lines of the machine and wanting to find it also colored red or blue in very rare cases ORO. (I got the standard black version) The adapter ring (standard) allows you to mount both optics with EF attachment and EF-S (also third-party but attention to compatibility) is actually the BASE version among 3 available (buybills apart but with a price I do not know if justified and/or proportionate) one of which in addition to the filters "Drop In" allows you to check, with an additional dial, the optics on mentioned completely simulating as if you had the management of an RF optic (in fact it is customizable by the controls for both iso opening and other). While for the coveted "photo" I would not repeat too much of not being too demanding because it re-appears disappointed even working on Raw... (I only throw a spear in favor of Raw if you manage the images with Canon Digital Photo Professional which is the UNICO to properly manage the files. Cr3 ; there is a very little improvement of IMHO management and recovery] unfortunately I over ISO 1000 can not talk about it well... I can imagine that with native optics the situation is better but with EF/EF-S... Forget. Always in the Photo area the most beautiful thing is 'eye AF I was really surprised (already I use Face Detection often but) aim and follow the eye even at a distance impressed me. In the video field instead also considering myself an absolute NEOFITA and "casual user" I got to be positively taken, in the sense that Focus and Drive AF in the videos with the intervention of the IBIS (which has unlike sister R) even I managed to bring something good enough to the house !!! The settings in general are optimized precisely for people who do not have a great experience in Photos/video and I have to say that in addition to the explanations in cam (which I disabled because I seemed to have the toy camera in hand) allows you with a minimum of knowledge of cause to get to bring videos at least Full HD home "there is not so much harm". In fine compatibility (with everything you have of the EOS system to date ) and the lightness of the machine body allow you to carry it with you to have a minimum of decency in the images... If you find it at a not high price (around 1200 euros) it is great to get into Full Frame and already in RF if you do not pass the desire in the meantime and migrate to other.

Pros: small and light, great autofocus, full frame

Cons: unbalanced with heavy optics.

Opinion: socket to flank a 6d mark ii as the second machine body. I can say that I was very satisfied. I recommend it for those who want to travel light. it is responsive and has a great autofocus. The quality of the viewfinder is also very good. With heavy and large optics you notice a lot of imbalance towards the goal. I didn't have any problems with the adapter. Great screen with which you can move your finger the focus while looking in the crosshairs (one thing I love). Would I ever sell the 6d mark ii to keep only the Rp.? I'd say No,,. The 6d mark ii cannot be replaced. Looking at the light with the optical sight is something I could never give up... then I feel it much more solid. more work reflex, much more balanced. To put it mild. I have to photograph a baptism, I have to take sports photos, I carry the 6d mark ii. I have to go out and street, or a week out of town, I bring the RP. What would I ask canon to improve it? nothing, or maybe yes, of the light and small optics to match...

Pros: Size and ergonomics, controls, tropicalization, price, rf lens system quality.

Cons: EVF VIEWFINDER, dynamic range, slot memory card together with the battery, price if over 1100, on/of switch on the left side, partial incompatibility of third-party batteries and cost of the originals, cost rf lens system.

Opinion: EDIT NOVEMBER 2020: Quite disappointed by this RP, sold after 3 months to switch to R: far from it. Good ergonomics, falls into the hands well and the controls are well studied, slightly too low perhaps, the little finger does not always find a place. Quality and detail of the images in my opinion poor, compared to other cameras, it seems that it has a kind of soft "veiling" on photographs. Good but not mind-blowing ISO seal. I consider images usable, with reduction removes, up to 3200 ISO. First flaw: dynamic range, already at first glance sins compared to other FF, allows very little in post production at the level of recoveries and drastically worsens by raising the ISO Second flaw: THE EVF VIEWFINDER. Hateful. It has the same viewfinder as the M50, enlarged with a lens positioned in front, well when you look at it perfectly centered, as soon as the eye moves slightly, it creates a nuisance never experienced on a camera. The battery for amateur use does its duty, I have come to take an average of 300/500 shots on a single charge, however the original Canon have exaggerated costs for the lens of this machine and the third-party ones do not report the level of charge. As for the burst, which in AF Servo drops to 4fps but with ILLLIMITATO RAW buffer, I have taken and sold with satisfaction the full-day service to a motocross race, so I do not consider it unusable at all. Who do I recommend it to? Above 800 euros at the end of 2020 really a few people. The Eos R has overestimated, and with the price of the new and the used, I would make a little extra effort and buy that, the difference is felt in every area: construction, sensor, viewfinder and screen, battery life..

Pros: ergonomics, aesthetics, ease of use, full frame, iso management, infinite optical park

Cons: if you need big recoveries, if you need a lot of burst, if you need double slots

Opinion: Taken to re-enter the world FF Canon, after having had 5d mark iii, and be passed to Fuji. The impression was the ergonomics and grip, it looks great in the hand and is very light. once you open the first file, you realize why you wanted to return to the FF world. Great high iso seal, great viewfinder and also great the sanding screen. The FV selector was a genius, practically checking all with 2 dials without detaching thereeye from the viewfinder. Great nche the management of AF points via touch. The cons are: shadow recovery... but it would be enough to know how to shoot and just that minimum recovery anyway gives you it. other con is the burst, if you need it you have to consider other machines, and of course it does not have the double slot. I don't put the battery in the cons because it's all electronic and so it's normal that it sucks energy. just have a couple of spares. more pro... If you want native optics are fantastic, but with the adapter the endless canon optical park is at your service... and some optics are reborn as well. VOTE 9.5

Pros: Full Frame image quality, size and grip, aesthetics, user experience, ISO management

Cons: Shadow recovery, tendency to burn lights, battery life

Opinion: I took this car after several years with Fuji, since I regretted a bit the 6d that I owned some time ago. The image quality looks similar to the 6D, i'm sure to note a good improvement over my latest Fuji X-t1. It's a full frame and this is noticeable in the files. Definitely not at the top for shadow recovery, you notice the noise, but in my opinion nothing as egregious as you might think reading some opinions on the forum. Great size and size, also a good aesthetic in my opinion. The machine goes great with the flash godox I just took and its trigger. On the videos I have not yet experienced, from what I understand is not really the best, but at the moment I do not care. In my opinion Canon is a bit like Apple, it always seems to have something less like specifications, but then in the end for one reason or another the final product is great. I noticed some autofocus issues with the 85mm f1.8 adapted, I don't know if it's a generalized thing or just with this lens. I already know that I will not keep this machine for many years, soon I'm going to try my hand at videos so later I will be squeezed, but to re-enter the full frame without spending much, having the advantage of using the whole canon optical park, is more than fine.

Pros: AF fast and very precise, holding the high iso, image quality worthy of a Full Frame

Cons: dynamic range

Opinion: I bought this camera to complement it with the 5D mk IV and not to replace it and I have to say that there is an excellent value for money. Paid 980.00 with the EF-EOS R adapter, I was pleasantly surprised by the fast and very precise AF, for the tightness of the high iso and for the image quality, worthy of a Full Frame. Good (to be a mirrorless) also the battery life and the ergonometry, despite being small, grips very well. I solved the back-front focus problems I had with the 35 mm Sigma art, I tried it at TA in many situations and did not miss a beat. The dynamic range is quite wide, but it does not make you cry out to the miracle. The flaws that many complain about are the lack of the double slot, the curtain that preserves the sensor from dust and battery life, but personally I believe that a mirrorless that costs less than a thousand euros including the adapter can not be charged such shortcomings, therefore my rating is 9.5. Great Canon, has lost ground to competitors who believed in the "mirrorless" system, but I'm sure within a few years, it will recover part of the "gap"

Pros: Lightness, iso seal, file quality, viewfinder, apparent semi-tropicalization, orientable display.

Cons: Battery life "also seems obvious" solvable with Powerbank

Opinion: it's been a month now that I use the New RP and I can say that I have enjoyed it in all its aspects, the sensor is known (the one of the 6D2). I come from a 6D , this is my first mirrorless and filth misery how comfortable it is in the hand, light and makes you want to shoot in every second! Unlike what Ribosio80 writes, mine is perfectly compatible in HSS with flashes "by the way Chinese", probably compatibility and was implemented with firmware 1.3. I'm pure Landscaper and given the period of purchase I could test this machine even with adverse weather a nice rain that made me a little afraid first impact, but the RP came out perfect (be careful that the battery compartment does not present sealing ring so in cas or rain is better to keep it repaired or at most horizontal). The features of focus stacking !!! to understand but once you take your hand it becomes very comfortable!

Pros: great value for money. good resolution. good yield. accurate graphic detail.

Cons: low availability of dedicated optics except at exorbitant prices.

Opinion: I bought a Canon EOS RP out of curiosity. I had good quality Canon goals and I wanted to see what came out of it. the result was excellent and unexpected. even with FD manual optics. This machine has a sensor with a good resolution capability. there is a ratio of the size of the single physical sensor signal detection element to the potential resolution of the optics. in this case it is optimal. to use machines with more solving sensors you need to spend a fortune on optics. not just buy a car. you have to invest 2-3 times the price of the machine in optics. and pay close attention to the actual and physical ability to solve the objectives in optical solvency. having a very high-performance machine in resolution and using it with a non-performing lens means detecting an optical defect and a lack of detail that produce images of very poor quality. it's light. the menu is well organized. the touch screen may or may not like it. it's convenient. but I prefer to turn it off because you risk changing something during sealing by tapping the screen with your nose or fingers. now on the market begin to find adaptors for optics of various brands for which the range of use begins to widen.

Pros: FF yield, iso seal, AF in the dark, low costs.

Cons: IT'S a very good thing that we're going to be able to do that," he said. Battery not durable.

Opinion: Bad opinion flash side, at present has a bug that does not allow the HSS l high speed syncro but you can only shoot up to 1/180 of a second. It works the first and second curtain shots but the very banal as widespread hss mode that even the entry level reflexes handle does not go. I tried various flashes also data for compatible from the same canon but does not synchronize the shot with lightning and is all full of black bands below, then above, then all the dark Frame... A mess... No godox given for compatible works All flash canon data for compatible even if you set the hss mode on flash machine and triggers does not synchronize equal. Now I'm forced to shoot with the old reflex entry the 200d that I could not sell because of this problem. If they don't solve soon I will sell everything and I also assume to use the optics via adapter on other machine bodies. For now between rp 3 flash 4 trigger adapter etc I have thousands of euros of equipment stops if i shoot outdoors where I use the hss for photo style and hate the nd filters that do not give the same yield. A mess.

Pros: Competitive price; FF quality on a compact body; useful features; electronic viewfinder; Precise focus

Cons: Unusable 4K video; Battery with a low life; Poor dynamic range;

Opinion: I come from 5d Mark II and 6d. I bought this little full frame a couple of weeks ago. After intense use I can confirm that the quality of the photos is comparable to that of 5D although with the EF lenses it seems to me that the 5d has something more, in terms of image quality. I really enjoyed the new features introduced and the lightness of the body. Finally I can take the car around even for impromptu exits. The electronic viewfinder, for which you need to get used to, is very useful and allows you to see what your photo will look like before taking it. With the release of these mirrorless taking photos and wading the display to check the result became Prehistory. Let's come to the flaws: 1) the battery lasts very little, buying a second backup battery is a must therefore. (eye that original canon costs 60 euros) 2) I tried the 4k, although the crop of the view is all in all bearable, what is to be reported is that the machine when recording in 4k fails to keep the focus on the subject and moving the shot there is a nuisance effect of "rolling" or image distortion. The 4k is therefore essentially unusable under these conditions. 3) The dynamic range compared to 6d and 5d mark II is lower. If you miss exposure and want to recover in posts by deleting shadows it produces a lot of noise and the image is almost unrecoverable. Overall rating: 7.5 rating. In my opinion, although someone has recommended this canon rp as the twin sister of the canon eos r, it remains to be carefully assessed the flaws mentioned above and consider whether it is worth spending 500 euros more for the canon eos r which I believe does not have the cons from me Detected. I will still give an update of this review as soon as I thoroughly test the machine.

Pros: Lightness, size, price

Cons: Electronic viewfinder, keys

Opinion: 10-year-old FF Canon (5D>5D2>5D3>6D), I took this RP to update the machine body and to have something lighter to carry around. I also took the Canon EG-E1 to increase the size of the socket when using heavier lenses. I feel good, as i use seems to me improved compared to the FF reflex, ok you have to make a moment the habit since with the FF I could almost shoot without looking in the room. A strange thing at the moment is the electronic viewfinder, which also returns the photo you just took (great since you can choose multiple display modes even with the histogram) but has almost difficult feedback in focusing the image displayed in the crosshairs, at least from my point of view. I will use it mainly for landscapes so I will use the winding display, but for other photographic uses I recommend you try it well before purchase.

Pros: User experience

Cons: Technical data

Opinion: This machine is the perfect demonstration of how the experience of using a camera in the real world is not found written anywhere in the technical specifications or in the graphics, nor in the various "comparometers" that are found on the web ... This RP is used with pleasure, has a great AF, is practical, intuitive in use and well built, a precise touch, a well-studied ergonomics all at an affordable price. Technically it is the Cinderella of Full Frames, but in practice it allows you to make great photos, rich in color, depth and detail ...

Pros: Light, intuitive, good AF, much better file than 6D, cheap, goodbye F/B focus problems

Cons: AF control not at maximum, volley lent

Opinion: Paid 1200 with physical store adapter, a new and fully usable FF for anything but sport and birdlife. The sensor I see much improved compared to the first 6D, there is much less noise in the shadows and zero chromatic noise. The AF is responsive especially in single point, EYE AF still to be improved but I almost always use the single spot point. Finally you can use sigma art or L 1.2 without focused patemi, if it is green it is perfect. I'm using her in every area, portrait, reportage, landscape, she's always there. The biggest flaw is in the management of af points, they are too many to select with the pad, so if you want to be fast you have to use the excellent touch, too bad that the day you have wet or dirty hands... It's not going to work. I hope for a firmware update that reduces the AF points on demand, so you can quickly go with the pad from side to side. Excellent functions of HDR in room, programmable bulb, focus stacking.

Pros: File quality, price, ergonomics, compatibility, weight, tropicalization, ease of use, intuitive menu, well-studied controls, adjustable display, EF optical adaptor

Cons: Lack flash, 4K crop, vulnerable sensor

Opinion: I bought it from very little and I had the opportunity to test it with about 300 shots on the road. I state that I own a Leica M10 with 35/1.4 ASPH FLE, an 18/3.4 asph and a 75/2 Apo ASPH. Well, Leica Optics are out of the question, but I have to admit that with the Leica I would have made 5% of the photos. Firstly because it was raining and it would be wet (the Canon RP has been wet without problems because it is tropicalized), then because I would have to change optics frequently, with the risk of dirking the sensor and the loss of precious seconds to grasp the subject of Surprise Finally because I would have had a certain fear to keep to the neck a equipment from €16,000, while instead the Canon RP Col 24-70 f/4 L series cost me 1/5 of the Leica. The RP has proven to be a true FF from a qualitative point of view, while its weight below 500g (1.2 kg with the 24-70 F/4L) gave me the impression of carrying a compact and nothing more. The body of the RP then, built in magnesium alloy and assembled to the rule of art, restores a feeling of compactness and at the same time of solidity hardly noticeable in the price range to which it belongs. Of the Canon RP I appreciated in particular: the quality of the files, the quality even at 12,800 ISO, the lock lever of the adjustments (very useful), the battery life, the type of battery (it is marketed for years and therefore s low price), the display totally Articulated, the easy reading of the menus, the arrangement of the controls, the absence of vibrations at the click, the Tropicalization, the handle, the price, the presence of the EF adaptor included in the sales kit. I did not like: the selector on/off (in my opinion a little fragilino), the lack of protection of the sensor with undocked optics, the 4K cropper, the lack of a closing command of the diaphragm to evaluate the PDC, the system of opening the battery compartment (equal to all Other Canon; I never liked it!), the lack of a small flash for the fill-in, the lack of the stabilizer (but there is on the optics). These are strengths and weaknesses that I have found according to the way I photograph. In any case the Canon RP is a very valid and highly enjoyable camera, and leaves no room for the desire for something more expensive. With native optics It gives the best of itself, but also with the EF optics it behaves very well. Promoted with flying colors.

Pros: Small and light, good sensor and excellent file quality, good viewfinder.

Cons: Plastic construction, SD door/battery apparently Fragilino, RF Optics range still limited and absurdly expensive, adaptor need to be able to use non-RF optics.

Opinion: After selling in 2015 ALL the Canon kit consisting of 1Dx, 5DIII and 8 L optics in favor of Leica and Olympus ML, finally Canon is out with the ML and I wanted to try the less expensive of the 2. The R has magnesium body, but I read that inside it is virtually empty (in fact there must be sensor, battery and circuits, but there are more mirror and pentaprism) and could make it much smaller. The RP is well-wield, it is very logical and rational, excellent the adjustable screen and the viewfinder. Of course, as I wrote, the door of the housing battery and SD seems destined to last a little, even considering that you open/close often, given the low battery life. But with all that space, they could not adopt a more capacent? The adapter ring adds clutter and a 16-35/4L as mine becomes very long once mounted. Last but not least, the RF optics available are still few, but above all inexplicably big, heavy and overpriced! I don't understand what they think about the Canon marketing, probably with 100 million of EF optics around they think people will use those... But the RF optics for features and price are professional, and where should I use them, with the R? I am looking forward to the professional RF of Canon, but that will have to "split", have something more, because brands like Sony, Olympus, Leica and even Panasonic seem to have understood better and before Canon and Nikon where the market goes.

Pros: For viewfinder quality possibility to use objectives

Cons: Slow burst

Opinion: Starting from the principle that a mirror less does not replace a high-level SLR, I bought it enthusiastically is I have not been disappointed at all. Nice that you can use all the objectives of the system EF and EFS: It is fantasticoLa machine is very light and if you go out with the 40 punkake and the equal 24 in your pocket is a show. Great the viewfinder you get used to right away. Colors and contrast great. Precise Autofocus but Nelloo sport in servo and with the volley some shot loses it... But I have not taken it for this where I will use my loyal 7 Dmk2.... By the way I dusted the 70 300do.... And it's a Goduria con.la RP

Pros: Speed focusing system, weight, ergonomics, sensor, price-quality ratio

Cons: Video System not complete.

Opinion: After 6 years of 6D, machine that I carried around the world and I know perfectly, I switched to Eos RP. Photographer portraits, street and still life. I've been experimenting With videos for a while. I find the RP an outstanding machine for those who shoot in my styles. Accustomed to the central 6D, the body certainly has in the system MAF the best innovation. It's very fast and accurate, my Sigma art works spectacularly. They are very precise and become blades. Certainly the electronics has greatly improved the characteristics and exploits the sensor to perfection. With a charge I did 597 shots (in my opinion not a few-no particular foresight, I used the live view). Excellent focus peaking on manual lenses (already used on M5). Under the photo profile for me is a 10... Especially on a system that costs 1350 euros and that has no compromises. For the street is fast in ignition, focus and, thanks to the reduced weight, you set the frame immediately. It is Not very small, but I move better with the RP than with the M5). In the profile of videos, great in full HD. In the 4k video they could push it more, in terms of frame rate. It Is worth waiting for Magic Lantern for Rp and R (currently being developed). For me it's a 7. A merit to lightness.... About 400 grams less than the 6D feel. Excellent the adjustable screen (which I had already on the 600D), allows you to do much more. Beautiful Colors and excellent yield to high ISO, considering the 26megapixels.

Pros: FullFrame, high ISO, light weight, intuitive menu, tropicalized, video quality.

Cons: Battery life!

Opinion: I took it about 2 weeks ago, retiring my EOS-6D. The step forward there was all right, the sensor is better, though not by much, but already the one of the 6D was really good, especially as high ISO hold. The shadows recovery is markedly improved. The menu is really done well, not complicated and very clear, who uses Canon long ago get used in 10 minutes. Electronic viewfinder: I am satisfied, I did not believe that 2, 3mpixels were enough to have a sharp viewfinder and fluid, but with its 60fps is always enjoyable, even if sometimes you perceive some "lag", especially in panning or burst shots by moving the Camera. Maybe all this will be solved when we have 240fps in the Viewscopes... The real advantage of the electronic viewfinder, in my opinion, is to be able to have the histogram RGB immediately visible them, so you know right away if the photo is exposed well! The RF maybe tends to underexpose a little bit (like the 6D), at least for now I had this impression. Perfect integration with the mobile APP Canon Camera Connect, with which you can control and set the RP; Connecting to Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth with your phone or PC is easy and you can also use your phone as an external GPS. I had read and I knew that making videos is not his forte, but I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of MP4 that churn, in H.264 at 120mbps of bitrate, even if only at 24p (however enough to make the video fluid, with subject not very fast and steady hand). Slow AF in the video, very fast for photos. Only negative point for me is the battery life, you have to have at least 2 in your pocket. With the first charge I will have done yes and no 300 shots, although I always have active Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Pros: Electronic viewfinder, swivel screen, focus points, weight

Cons: A bit of a poor burst, lack of a second memory slot, AF problems with third-party optics and even with Canon optics

Opinion: He replaced my beloved 6d from which I really struggled to break away. I must myself despite reviewing the evaluations on this machine after experiencing its use. Beyond the well-known battery deficiencies (solvable with other batteries, even non-original), I found a defect in AF; I tried both the Tamron 70-200 2.8 USM and the homonymous 150-600 USM that with the 6D have never had any problems in focusing, while on the RP, especially at the maximum focal lengths have encountered many problems to go on fire. I also tried the CANON 100 2.8 L macro (a superlative lens on every occasion) looked like an STM of the worst quality; He croaked and struggled in the focus. Evidently (personal opinion), there is some problem with the use of the adapter. By Pulling the sums, the RP seems to me more like an EOS M with on a FF sensor. But at a triple cost. I have seen many potential, but I think that the maximum can be obtained (for now) with the RP lenses (which have their cost) and that with the other optics there are some flaws to solve. Undoubtedly not everything is negative but, for €1500, you can have some better. Final Outcome.... RETURNED and replaced with the 6D2. I Presume it is better to wait until this new RP makes a due process of growth.

Pros: Lightness, sensor, affordable price, adjustable screen

Cons: System imbalance with "important" optics such as 70-200 L, battery life

Opinion: I have it for too little time to provide a detailed review, so I will update the review as time goes by. After years of school with the 40d, the RP seems an object arrived from the future: it falls very well in hand, all commands are in the right place and coming from Canon the learning curve (although between my previous model and this run 12 years) is negligible. The touchscreen has a better sensitivity than some smartphones that are on the market, great job Canon. The first impressions on the quality of this instrument are excellent, the yield of the sensor I like very much, the autofocus is very quick, and the coupled with the drag on touchscreen is phenomenal. The eye AF is an interesting and nice feature but little usable in the "real world". I still have to get used to the EVF (but coming from an optical viewfinder I think is normal), very useful the function of focus peaking. With the new 35mm RF the machine achieves a distribution and ergonomics worthy of a Japanese katana, with the 70-200 2.8 L II Instead the situation becomes strange: it seems to shoot only with the optics, but I think that this is a characteristic common to all modern Mirrorless. I will take her shortly on some journey and I will experience her where my fida 40d has never betrayed me: the mountain (even in prohibitive conditions with snow, temperatures under I-15 and so on), I'll keep you updated. (unfortunately I will not be able to give you reviews regarding the video compartment, since I only use it as a camera, but so on two feet I do not think is the appropriate tool for a videomaker)
