Pros: sharpness at TA, autofocus fast enough

Cons: Lens hood

Opinion: Taken used (with 1 year warranty) at a palious price from a store, I immediately saw the excellent quality of the lens, which although dated, gives really good results to TA. Small and unwieldy, it looks like the classic portrait lens, and at this point, even having the 85 f1.8 I wouldn't know which one to use anymore (better to have this spoilt for choice). I use it with 6D canon. The lampshade is to be taken apart, fortunately having the 85 I can use that, but it has a really twisted hooking system, you have to think of certain abstruse things, I do not think they can come spontaneously... to conclude, highly recommended!

Pros: Spectacular quality-price, very sharp photos, excellent AF even if old

Cons: Nothing lens hood

Opinion: Target bought on the market at 270 EUR and delighted to have taken it! The photos come really well. I have yet to improve the technique with this because I often get one side of the face brighter than the other outdoors but for the rest is the maximum. To start doing portraiture is a perfect springboard. Luckily I found it already equipped with lens hood.

Pros: Light, compact, chromatic rendering, balanced contrast even in critical situations, resistance to backlighting and parasitic lights, precise and lightning-fast fire.

Cons: Lens hood not included, lack is but they were other times.

Opinion: A good reason to keep it close is its surrender, it is too contrasting and not even vintage. It's already sharp at f 2.0! At 5.6 It makes all the pixels of the machine sweat... and I'm 30mp. A bit soft on the sides if used to f 2.0, but no astigmatism or artifacts, so no problem for the final images... but I talk about the unnecessary magnification to monitor. It's perfect, I love it. If used well, no one goes indifferent to his images. I had the 85mm 1.8 brother of this, and it has no real points in favor, the 100mm is along that little bit more than for the portraiture establishes the correct distances. Plus it has a bokeh with personality, it tends slightly to create concentric but soft games, without astigmatism, and to me this thing drives me crazy. It's him, I could recognize him among others. I also use it on the Sony a6500 for videos, with MC11, the focus ring is not among the most fluid but it works well, the manual focus is immediately at first shot without games. Compact, no mistake a fire.

Pros: Sharpness to TA. The price in relation to the excellent quality

Cons: It annoys me the fact that the lens hood is purchased separately. I took on Amazon a commercial for a few euros and it's fine.

Opinion: I confirm all the good that is said, I bought it used in a physical store very prestigious in Rome and I think I got a good deal. It seems to me that it underexposes slightly, not that it is a problem but I would like to be comforted by other users by the way. I only did a few test shots with a 5 D Mark 3, and I have no photos to show, as soon as I have one the place on the site with pleasure. I hope to have opinions about the underexposure. I also add that with Kenko 1.4 it works fine. The opening becomes an honorable 2.8 and with very little weight we carry a more than honorable 140 mm. I finally tested outdoors the lens bought used. I confirm how good I had already said, in this case I had no problems of underexposure, the autofocus, was immediate and it seems very accurate. The photo was taken in the street with the Nice collaboration of an unknown tourist also passionate about photography. https://www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?l=it&t=2870558 thanks

Pros: Compact (which is also a defect), lightweight, F2, sharpness, price

Cons: As far as the optics nothing... Too compact, difficult to manipulate. For the lens hood speech.....

Opinion: I use it on 6DMK2, very interested focal length for portraits. Light and compact (perhaps too much, if not used with lens hood is too short and difficult to handle) very fast in focus, even in low light conditions. Closed at F2 creates a good boker effect and gives three-dimensionality to the subject in my opinion a hair (but very little) higher than the Canon 70-200 is USM F 2.8 a TA but lower than the Canon 35 L F 1.4. (which I consider the best optics I had with 3d effect wowwww) Closed a couple of stops does not lose any speed or sharpness, but I think you lose his real magic. Perhaps the only drawback is the lens hood, (but not really), which is as large as 3/4 optics and mounted "stretches" in a flashy way, but it becomes easy to handle... Always Diacorso lens hood The attack is not really the best (old style with the two buttons side) and even the most practical, but just leave it always mounted and you will reprint to the problem.... I was a bit skeptical about the fact that a TA F2 could use filters from 58, (have such a small front lens compared to 135l or 35l) but I have rethought. Good value for money. Rated 8.5 recommended for those who want to spend little and have an excellent fixed for portraits and not only.. Although I think it stays too small.

Pros: Opening, construction, size and lightness, colors, AF. Great focal point for portraits.

Cons: soft at F2. A little AC always at F2

Opinion: I start by saying that it is a magnificent lens! Robust, compact and lightweight. It is worth every € I paid for it and even more. The AF is silent and lightning-fast. It is also very reliable. The lens is a bit soft at F2 but it is a typical portrait focal point, so I would say it's okay. F2.2 then disappears all defects and becomes very clear. At F4 then it is a real blade. It delivers well contrasted images and warm shades, like all the series of ultra-canon canons of the 1990's. Colors are, however, less saturated than the L series. With the 28 and 50 of the same series make up the perfect triad to go around doing a bit 'everything: from street photography, to portraits, to landscape, to theater. And all three with the filter attack from 58. I always recommend buying it again as it is my opinion that Canon has over the years upgraded the usm engine software, which is now more reliable. I add that in the past I had the 85 F1.8. The 100 & egrave; best in all respects. It is also a focal point that allows you to make the subject more comfortable.

Pros: Aperture, sharpness, blurry, construction, AF, value for money, no exaggerated weight

Cons: A haze of poor quality with a bad attachment. Focal length not easy to handle

Opinion: The best portrait goal ever bought. Taken since I was coming from 24-105L and I used the 105 I chose 100f2 instead of 85 because they spoke slightly better the reviews and I thought it was a focal length I like and already known. It emphasizes the marked features, a specialist in older people's photos less in my child's photos. Absolutely to buy. The identity card is not truthful. Unfortunately I was stolen and I decided, also for a business question to take the 85 as it is more inflationary given its use in the apsc. To be honest with time it turned out to be an unclear focal length, which is why I decided to buy the 85 sooner, perhaps more prone to half a bust and joined the 35th should make a winning pair. We'll see. In any case, the 100 is a great lens that will not disappoint, indeed. I'll let you know then the comparison with 85.

Pros: Optical quality already in ta, price in the used

Cons: Hesitates a bit uncomfortable and dancing and uncomfortable

Opinion: Bought on the bay with warranty has so far been the best target of my kit, a fantastic quality already to them, many of them just a step below the mythical 135L, but at 400euro less the step i do it! I was left Immediately astonished by the sharpness of the colors and the blur given. We would recommend to those who do not have a high budget for the 135L, but that's actually not so much inferior to the more respectable older brother (I would say almost to the par). I'm going to the new hood with push button that does not make me crazy but It's a nonsense than the pro listed above

Pros: Optical quality, blurred, compactness, good construction

Cons: I do not know

Opinion: Excellent optics with light an equally valid blurred, ideal for portraiture, but not only, also excellent AF; focal aside, I did not find substantial differences in optical quality with 135L, much more expensive and cumbersome. I also owned the Zeiss 1.4 85, but did not totally regret Raccomandatissimo: who owns APS-C board his brother 85 1.8rn

Pros: Aperture, sharpness, blur, weight, construction, AF, quality / price ratio, color

Cons: Missing red pinstripes, not including lens hood and attack "bizarre", perhaps this does not deserve the red pinstripes

Opinion: One of the few lenses from which I will separate easily. Along on APSC but perfect on FF. The detail is astonishing wrapped, the colors more lively and precise, the 'AF fast and precise, lightweight and compact. only drawback the lens hood that has an unstable connection and little efficace.rnrnPer the price and quality is an optical consigliatissima

Pros: maximum aperture of f / 2, clear already at TA, a blade turning a bit 'the diaphragm, small and light, solid and well built, fast and accurate af suitable barrel even at considerable use.

Cons: minimum distance of 90 cm maf, hood sold separately and with mounting bad, not multipliable.

Opinion: That bell'obiettivo. And what nonsense I did to sell it. At those prices where it turns, approximately 300 Euros, it is a gem. Of aps-c is a bit 'long for many applications, but on FF takes on its full meaning. It 'a gem and can not understand why the Canon does not put the red line. Now that I switched to FF I'll have to buy it again.

Pros: quality / price ratio, weight / footprint, MAF speed

Cons: nobody

Opinion: Got it used two years ago for use on 6D primarily as canvas portraits. I had read only positive opinions ... but I found a great lens, fast, clear, with a blurred that I like moltissimo.rnLa MAF is instantaneous and silent, FTM and does not miss a colpo.rnNon feel the desire to do better, also because to have a little more should I orient myself on the 135 L, but for me it would not make sense to spend three times more to get a little more, maybe even I would be able to apprezzare.rnE 'a fixed telephoto lens so obviously requires some "reasoning" before shooting ... but it is also found an advantage, especially for an amateur because it forces him to give extra attention in the context in which they want to photograph, as well as the subject and the PDC at close range at f / 2-2.8 is very few cm. Also often just reassembling you can move out fuoco.rnUna once familiar and using socket being aware of these characteristics, and gives details of great blurred pregio.rnIn & moreegrave; compact, lightweight and without a hood occupies as a 18-55 ... which lets you use it as a canvas in a rather unexpected and little pushy with all the benefits that may result, for example, to steal some first piano.rnDifficilmente go out without, when not in use as before scelta.rnrnAggiorno: after some testing with adapter on m4 / 3 confirms its qualities and especially his goodness and detail already at full aperture ... well MFT sensor using only the central portion of the lens, the sharpness is on the whole frame without vignettare and without loss of detail at the edges of the lenses that are not used. Thus it becomes an equivalent focal length of 200mm, ie a telephoto lens to very tight portraits and sports photography ... when you need light, and there is little.

Pros: Sharpness at TA, size, weight, strength, bokeh

Cons: very strong chromatic aberration, inconsistent AF, lack hood, colors vary widely in different lighting conditions

Opinion: I bought this 100 F2 with the lens of having the ideal lens for portraits, to use during weddings. rnPremetto had replaced the first I bought because I thought it was bad, but the second has unfortunately confirmed the flaws of the model and then opting for resornPartiamo from the positive aspects, it is one of the few lenses under 500 Euros that allows you to shoot at TA with excellent sharpness. This is why I bought it, and it was confirmed very good on this aspect. The shots are contrasted and sharp, with a slight tendency to cool tones, the first impact give a sense of satisfaction and WOW, especially if you use properly the detachment of the plans, which can offer a really excellent bokeh (almost identical to the 135) . And 'solid and sturdy, very light to trasportare.rnrnGli gripes my two specimens suffered from devastating chromatic aberrations, ruined virtually all outdoor photos. Not all unfortunately are correctable in the post, because the amount ofreduction was set to nearly full and the edges were interested ruined. Backlit by the sky is virtually inutilizzabile.rnAltro biggest flaw is the AF, which did me wrong 50% of the shots during the ceremony, even though I had calibrated the AF carefully (even at that stage I noted some uncertainty). The errors were random, now Back Focus Now Focus Front. 2 copies of 2, including that of a friend of mine (then 3), all with the same defect difetto.rnAltro lesser extent, but still took me a long time to work in the photos, is the way it responds to different light situations. Outdoor colors were balanced, under the neon is a disaster, all very tacked on the yellow (with the same settings the 24/105 f4 L returned definitely more correct shots) .rnrnIn conclusion, do not recommend it for the reasons mentioned above, because it makes you lose too much time in the POST, then when you have to fan a wedding you speak only of hours worked to correct the defects, which is worth the investment forthe 135L.

Pros: Great blurred, bright, af very fast and accurate. Light

Cons: Not survived, apart from the lack of the lens hood,! These can you buy the Chinese a few Euros

Opinion: Big goal. I've had a life, since I was the eos 5 analog. Excellent value for money, and according to mo! It a series L incognito, in practice it lacks only the red Righetta. But for me the build quality is excellent. When I move I always carry with 35 f2 is. It is excellent for portraits.

Pros: Bokeh, sharpness, color, iris 2.0

Cons: nobody

Opinion: I was really surprised by this goal: it is compact, clear already at f2.0, great bokeh, practically a brother of 135L but at half the price. Only known where I was hoping better is the minimum focusing distance, but for what we are the 100 macro and you can easily fix with the pipes as I tested. Perfect to complete my set of three 28-1.8-50ino 100 2.0 on FF.

Pros: Sharpness, Unfocused, Bokeh, dimensions, weight, quality / price ratio, materials, af lightning.

Cons: Hood, do not consider the lack of a counter is because it is written in the characteristics of the lens and if you choose you know.

Opinion: I consider in quality / price ratio the best canon lens for portrait (thanks to its focus gentle, nice and soft) and also excellent for indoor sports (thanks to its lightning-fast and accurate AF system and high brightness). Compared to similar 85 mm does not suffer from the problem of chromatic aberrations and has a focal length in my opinion perfect on FF. We defended well against the noble 135L as more than a sharpness very nearly identical can boast price, dimensions and weights halved! Furthermore, according to the rule of the doubling of focal length (useful to choose a set of fixed) the triplet: 50, 100 and 200 mm proves very balanced! A difference of 85 and 135 coupled that do not follow any rules. Even the construction of the objective seems impeccable: at first glance I noticed the strength of materials and a body from L series masked. The only cons that I could find is the lens hood: this model is not equipped with the usual screw thread, but one with two side hooks, that for my personal taste I find most scoso; I find it ridiculous that then sell it separately. However the use turns out to be as' less effective. Among the advantages of this goal: an incredible bokeh effect, wide open I did portraits where the lights of the city in the background were designed in soft dots of light very large. His other qualities the great detachment plans also diaphragms less open: this feature allows you to get pictures with the subject in focus and the background blurred and creamy, almost dissolved. In conclusion, I can only advise that goal: I do not think that in fact spend twice for the 135L will return a double quality to your photos. To be honest I do not think that the 135 can be considered even slightly higher than this, but I see them identical. Giustificherei the choice 135 only in the case where those 35mm in special cases will change their lives but not for the quality! Regards, Daniel.

Pros: light, crisp and clear open, fast autofocus, a few aberrations compared to '85 soft blur, great value

Cons: no one. we complain about missing hood ?? (Taken at 8 Euros not original)

Opinion: I changed the '85 with the 100 and use it on 6D. I noticed far fewer aberrations than the brother and increased sharpness at full aperture. I think it's really the ideal lens for portraits, the versatile American plan to close portrait. With a little 'space, including full length. Maybe 85 'more' versatile for portraits ambientati but if we go on the first floors, the 100 'to be preferred to that step back that allows you to not suffocate the subject. By activating the automatic correction of aberrations, the results are excellent, and the progress from '85 are obvious. For the price at which 'proposed, and the performance it provides in portraits (sharpen, blur, isolating the subject), I think it's a bargain.

Pros: Value for money, focus, sharpness, light.

Cons: Does not damage the lens hood of the series, and has a slight chromatic aberration 2.0

Opinion: It 's my favorite among those Canon lens I own, relatively inexpensive, lightweight, discreet, returns beautiful colors, a friend lent me the 135 f2.0 I was also curious to see if his performance was sufficient to justify a price much high, I did some tests and I compared the results with the canon 85 1.8 but only according to opinions that have given me friends who possess it, maybe one day I'll do a test with quello.rnhttp: // fotorealis .jimdo.com / 2014/08/23/135-canon-f2-0-comparison / rnqui can see the article completo.rnrnA Sometimes I captain friends or acquaintances who ask me an opinion between the 100 and the 100 f2 f2, 8 is for the portrait, the answer is that if you make mostly portraits there is no history, the 100f 2.0 wins, the reason is that it is true that the 100 f2.8 has more clarity and is, but the different correction of spherical aberration between the two lenses even if the same aperture will produce more and more beautiful and gradual one blurred in the 100 f2.0 at the expense of a minoKing sharpness (as well as in 50 of which 1.2 wrongly many complain not knowing why the less sharpness), the autofocus of an optical macro usm also will never be as fast as that of an optical picture and increased sharpness (when the 100 f2 is already very clear for a portrait) then I do not see a major plus. The modern macro lenses are more versatile than those of the past, but they are designed to excel in photos not in the picture where they're doing well, but not compared to optical specialist.

Pros: Blurred, color, weight, size

Cons: Price (I've paid 420euro new, but on amazon costs 540euro, too!), Lens hood is not supplied, in front of a beautiful boken is a little sharpness.

Opinion: Also possess the 105 sigma OS.rnCome sharpness the Sigma is higher and molto.rnPerò weighs more and is less maneuverable. Blurred Sigma not pleasant. rnrnSul Canon I find that this model is not widespread because 85 1.8 costs almost 200 euros less (prices amazon) .rnIl 100 F2 is greater than 85 but not worth the 200 euros of difference. rnrnTengo sigma that is why I have two Canon bodies. The sigma accept the use of multipliers, and APSC while on a Canon 5d.

Pros: Color brightness, sharpness even at room temperature, out of focus, not plasticky construction

Cons: if you can consider a real contrast, the lack of stabilizer

Opinion: I state that my review will be very little technical (I would not be able), but I wanted to have my say on this lens in my opinion eccezionale.rnrnL 'I bought it with the intention of "stealing" portraits and this lens is definitely fit for purpose: the autofocus is fast and accurate, bright colors, the soft blur. I use it very happily at RT for maximum blur and sharpness remain important. Although the focus is, for my aps-c a bit 'long, since I have it I can not remove it from the machine and I prefer to retreat a few steps, or change the composition of the image to adjust to the focal length, but not I give more (unless necessary) to the brilliant colors and the blur that gives me this perspective. rnrnIo I always use it with the hood purchased separately (the canon, after having thrown away the Chinese from 10 € because of his attack due to a weak one comes off immediately) ... obviously sorry to have to spend another 30 auro for that, but not I think it can be considered as against itself, bythe moment that if you choose you sa.rnrnLa absence of the stabilizer, of course, does not allow time below a certain limit, however, the 100L I think you could make it (and also the full time manual focus), but, Also this is a defect? at the end of this objective with all the ideal characteristics exist, it just depends on how much you can / want to spend ...

Pros: Sharpness, colors, size, value for money, diameter filters.

Cons: Hood ...

Opinion: The Canon EF lens 100F/2.0 is a little-known, and perhaps one of the reasons is the fact that the holders of APS-C cameras take 85 1.8 format whose focal FF is equivalent to 136 mm (thus approaching the 135 series L). It is a lens that not even I know, but one day a guy asked me to exchange with my Extender 1.4 II and driven by curiosity I accepted (because the lens was really like new). I immediately liked the excellent build quality, for L series, and the diminutive size. Before you start to use it, read the review by Ken Rockwell, who praised him, saying among other things that it was among the most clear goals ever. So I said, "now is the time to discover this 100 F2" ... Well ... amazing sharpness, color rendition, bokeh - really fantastic already at RT, in a nutshell is a perspective that has left me mouth open. Canon calls it "optics specialist for portraits" and it really is, as it has all the FEATURESpolicies that make it a suitable lens to portraiture. It is without doubt an L series in disguise.

Cons: Hood attack

Opinion: Great lens for portraits even on aps-c. Fast and very accurate in the maf. Compact, light and very well built. At a good price. Excellent color rendering and blurry exceptional. Pros: Quality, plasticity and yield natural. Beautiful colors and focus.

Cons: None

Opinion: Softness in the play with great clarity portraits, almost painterly in its yield. Compared to a zoom lens, very sharp, has made a much more natural. Lightweight but sturdy, very well built. Transportable, inconspicuous. In competent hands is able to take shots at the highest level. Combined with the 50 mm, allows you to cover the main focal required to perform all of the classic portrait shots (full-length, half-length, close-up, etc.).

Pros: Superb optical quality, weights and dimensions, building good quality, fast autofocus.

Cons: PF at the widest apertures, the method of attachment of the hood.

Opinion: Optical amazing, as we yield level of 135 2, only small neo some PF at the widest apertures. Construction of a good standard and handsome and precise autofocus. Not to be suitable due to the hood of a fixing system just succeed. Weight and perfect size. A jewel more than recommended, strangely overshadowed by brother 85 1.8 which is less than (just) in all.

Pros: Perfect color resolution, fast and accurate USM, almost total absence of CA although diaphragm 2 is usable only at the center. I agree with "Good ex-subject-background with a nice bokeh and creamy while still maintaining a high level definition." Practical and lightweight. Excellent quality / price ratio

Cons: I have not found yet.

Opinion: When I switched from 5D to the 1D Mark II (thank God) I did not find large differences between the photos taken with the 5D with the 135/2 and the 1D Mark II with 100/2, a lens that both new and used practically coast a third of the wonderful 135. With the 1D Mark II with factor 1.3 is almost perfect for portraiture. I have done so far maybe a hundred sets (and amateur) with this lens and I've never been disappointed. Perhaps only 5% of the photos I had focus problems, but in this I think that the 1D Mark II has its part. Last year I sold it because of some personal problems and I'm sorry. Quickly as I could I bought it again and now it is a "unsellable" of my camera kit. I highly recommend it!

Pros: Sharpness and overall optical quality. Perfect combination with FF. Excellent value for money. Light and handy for everyday use.

Cons: So far no

Opinion: I got it used at a great price. I think it is the right lens for portraits on FF, that does not make me regret neither the 135 nor the f2 8 .5 mm f1.8 that I have had for a while. More Habitable the first, in terms of cost, manageability and generally not for photos in the studio, more interesting than the second angle of the same everything else. Remarkably clear (I do not see significant differences with the 70-200 f4 IS), blurred very pleasant, MF Fast and accurate, compact dimensions and low weight. A beautiful lens that I recommend to all owners of FF with a limited budget and want Traveling light.

Pros: small, light, bright, high-definition CT, very little AC TA, bokeh smooth, creamy detachment subject-background admirable lens diameter smaller then a low cost with filters, fast and cost very content!

Cons: missing the hood.

Opinion: I admit that I have taken it because at the time I did not have the money to take the 135mm but I understand that the difference is abysmal! I've used it on 40D and gave me the results nothing short of fantastic. Good ex-subject bokeh background with a creamy and pleasant while maintaining a high level definition. The hood might have helped to shield the lens from flare or CA. I sold it for different business needs, but it will take up absolutely!
