nikon_24-120vr_f4Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4 G ED VR

Pros: Stabilized (though not the best stabilizer ever), very versatile, most reasonable second-hand price

Cons: It suffers dense sensors, general sharpness not at the top, vignetting, price of the new very high, suffers a little the backlight

Opinion: A lens with which you can really take home a huge variety of shots but it must be known and know how to use at best, I explain : you have to know the yield of the combinations between focal length / opening because at some of these combinations the lens becomes really very soft as it can give its best to others. I really found a lot of consistency with the analyses made by DxO regarding the best focal length/aperture combinations and lens sharpening so in this case DxO can really be reference. That said, in some situations it suffers very dense sensors by not being able to solve them at its best and in general it is a lens that does not make incisiveness its strong point but, at such a versatile lens you can forgive it, especially if you push a little more on sharpening in pp. The Af has never given me any particular problems. The vignetting is quite marked so much that it has to "stain" in the corners in Ps (very evident especially in the landscape on the blue of the sky) especially at 24mm. The stabilizer does its but on machines like the D810 it must still be used once widely safely otherwise you suffer anyway. The colors are quite beautiful and natural. Overall it's a great thing to do when compared to alternatives (even third-party ones) that have far worse issues to deal with. Having said that the overall yield is quite good and if used with due care it is a really good workhorse, I do not know if I would change it with something else in this range, maybe only with the 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 G ED VR but which lacks the Nano Crystal Coat. Today's second-hand price definitely makes it the winner of the category! Rating : 8.9

nikon_18-35gNikon AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 G ED

Pros: Sharpness, sharpness at the edges even at 18mm, accurate and fast af, contrast and colors, good resistance to the backlight, light, focal range, 77mm filters, cost

Cons: Barrel distortion marked at 18mm but can be corrected without problems in post

Opinion: Taken out of curiosity after trying the most emblazoned 20 and 24 f/1.8G (which I gave away both), if you do not need to shoot below f/3.5 I highly recommend this 18-35. I use it with satisfaction on D810 and I assure you that the least resolution (according to the tests) is not noticed in the slightest, otherwise it is fast, precise, light, it has the focal points that interest me the most and it is very sharp! For those who enjoy the landscapes is ideal but does its job a bit in all situations. It is very light and small in size, I personally also find it very comfortable ergonomically as it is held and handled in a very comfortable way. If you want to put it in difficulty try to photograph two parallel vertical lines, the only defect for me really obvious (but I repeat, solvable in post correcting the lens distortion with ACR or nikon software depending on how you work) : the barrel distortion, which is still noticeable only around 18mm and with lines in the frame that highlight it, for the rest you will not even notice. A hair of more chromatic aberrations than other lenses but they come out only when you put it under stress in scenes with very strong direct light and very high contrast, otherwise never noticed. The vignette is very light and uniform to the most open and never annoying diaphragms, I would say almost pleasant. In my profile you can find some photos taken with this lens to give you an idea. For the price to which it is used today in my opinion is a best buy and a lens absolutely to have without fear of using it with dense sensors like D810. It is worth far more than the average vote indicated! Score: 9.5/10

canon_6dCanon 6D

Pros: Versatility, cost, iso seal, file quality, FF,

Cons: Insufficient tropicalization, ergonomics and command arrangement

Opinion: I made the jump to FF returning "Back" since I came from a newer car (an 80D) but the leap forward was everything and I did not regret the choice at all! Although it is said of plague and horns on the AF system of this machine I have not found any major impediments at least for my use (landscapes and some portraits), you can very well always focus with the center and then recompose. Quality of files produced by the sensor good enough to pull out beautiful shots and sufficiently workable in post (clearly with a well-exposed photo). The high ISO seal is exceptional as has been said many times. The only flaws I can encounter are a low visibility of the screen in very strong but unimportant light conditions and, instead, something a little more annoying, the tropicalization that in my opinion is not much (dirty sensor already after a couple of months of meticulous and careful use, not that a piece in the inside of the glass of the AF but that of course is not seen in the photo). The viewfinder is a little disappointing. Like all Canons the arrangement of the buttons, at least for me, is not intuitive at all and forces me every time to have to look for them looking at the car. Limited dynamic range but may not be a disadvantage for those who want to pull out more incisive images working little in posts. It tends to underexppos to save the highlights, I always shoot at 1/3. For the rest I am very happy with the switch to this machine that despite a few years on the shoulders is still a very respectable entry level FF. Rating: 8.7

manfrotto_element_grandeManfrotto Element grande

Pros: Height and bulk when closed / Very high Load capacity (8kg) / Solidity / Robustness / Stability / Hook Ballast / Become Monopod / Weight

Cons: If I have to find one, hooking the plate of the head to the machine is not the most comfortable

Opinion: I chose this tripod after numerous online searches and after having physically tested the most expensive and emblazoned models in the shop. What to say ... There is really no comparison even with the more expensive models that do not offer the same feeling of robustness! This tripod is really planted on the ground! The possibility of configurations then is surprising.rnrnThe mechanism of extension of the legs is screw, is not lightning but not cumbersome to operate. In addition to the beautiful semi-padded bag there are also optional crampons that can be alternated with the base feet (which are otherwise made of rubber). It is possible to use it as a monopod and there is an additional screw to replace the base head if you do not want to use the ball head (supplied) but simply screw the machine directly to the stick.rnrnThe supplied head is supplied with a ball of two bubbles, small and very precise, it immediately hooks up the position even with the machine very inclined without there being any sort of games.rnrnI would absolutely recommend it to those who want to find their way around this figure and need a large load capacity, little clutter when closed and great stability! Also on the site Manfrotto is on offer so you also save something ... I took it online, ordered Saturday I arrived Wednesday.
