Nida - Curonian Lagoon - Minge Village
There are wonderful resort towns in the Curonian Spit - Juodkrante, Pervalka, Preila, Nida (under the common name Neringa). It is a land of amazing history and beauty, protected by UNESCO. There are popular boats trips from the Curonian Spit to mainland Lithuania - to the Nemunas river delta , to Minge Village. This is the so-called Lithuanian Venice, where there are villages between the rivers, and the roads between them are represented by those rivers. Minge is a unique former fishermen's village by the river and the Curonian Lagoon. In that part near the lagoon, there is Ventes Ragas. It is a very important worldwide bird ringing station. 60,000 to 100,000 birds are ringed in the Vente Ragas per year. Sometimes up to 300,000 birds pass through this place per day.
