at 300mm, 20 sec f/6.7, ISO 3200, tripod.

Cabbage with us a few seconds you managed to pull out as much signal with little noise.
Bravo.

Hello Andrew, thanks for the compliment, I'm not so experienced but 80s are few and ISO 3200 for the Pleiades? For noise reduction I mediated shots and then I passed with Neat Image, a sw which seems to me to have a good algorithm for proper noise reduction automatically.
Greetings!
PS I went to see your pictures in the astronomy and I have to compliment you!

Why have mediated the shots in groups of 7-8 and then add the results? The average of all 20 shots from each 20s would allow you to have a better noise reduction. Usually for overall exposure is still considered the sum of all the shots used, Independently of the algorithm you use to merge them (average, sum or qualt'altro). In any case, though still noisy and unbalanced colors (in the Pleiades there are also red stars) is not bad considering the limited pose and the frame utlizzata.

Cbr /> I consider it almost a miracle :) view of the hundreds of photos thrown and moves in directions inexplicable! This frame presents as a precession movement around its axis, for which it is observed that a moved continuously changes direction, in some shots the stars instead punctiform were in the shape of "C", in other in the shape of "S"! In the end it had become a challenge between me and her who would have surrendered before! :)

If I averaged all the shots I would have got a very clean, yes, but always at the end of the 20s that would not show much of the nebulae blue

Not so, mediate many images allows you to get a signal / noise that can take a lot more information, so the picture you get is not equivalent to the exposure time of each of the individual shots. So 30 shots to mediate 20s is not like having an exposure equivalent to 20s, but 30x20s (10 minutes). The difference is that a single image would take 10 minutes to 10 minutes below the noise! Add 4 poses obtained by averaging groups of 7-8 shots from 20 s worse is that the media do and nothing else, because the sum of 4 medium you've got not only the sum of the useful signal, but also the noise. You always have ragionare in terms of signal / rumore.Considera that if the image you get is a little noisy lets you do the recovery operations of the signal much more extreme.
However, if after different approaches with this set of images this is the best result, you have done well to keep this, it is always the result that counts.
