Belt and sword of Orion, family photos sent on March 08, 2014 (15:57) by Aleziggio. 15 comments, 4098 views.

at 117mm, 8 sec f/5.3, ISO 3200, tripod.

Indeed a good frame you solve many problems. Without going into NEQ6 expensive and so you would take a kind of iOptron Smarteq Pro GoTo system that supports fine SLR with a telephoto, and even a stand alone autoguider if you do not want to use the PC ..... Smarteq Pro is easy to use and at the same time too light, I got this I also assist with the iOptron Star Tracker for astrophotography wide-field time is different ... unfortunately I can not go out one evening to take some photos, I hope that the time to stabilize and find a suitable and moonless evening to resume Orion and the surrounding area.

Hello Beppe, thanks for advice, I have yet to figure out which type of investment I'm interested in doing and then you give me any straight is well appreciated.
Gaijin, when you want to organize an exit or night hikes in the mountains if you're interested you can get the company to agree, even if Beppe Reda others who read or wish to participate in an evening dedicated to the photography of the sky and maybe meet friends Juza of person I am available, consistent with the demands of work and girlfriend

I got the idea that photographic lenses are generally superior to telescopes in terms of sharpness and contrast

depends on the objectives and telescopes! ;-)

a good frame is crucial

agree 100%!

@ Chiara
depends on the objectives and telescopes!

I mean at the same price. In any case, I noticed that the camera lenses are made up of several groups of lenses to correct various aberrations, while the telescopes are relatively simple construction scheme. This makes me assume that greater diffusion and industrialization of photographic canvases determine a price / performance ratio in favor of the latter. I found online a few daytime shots made with apochromatic telescopes and I do not seem to live up to telephoto equivalent, then a serious comparative test under the same conditions have not seen it but the impression I have is this.
As for the mount, I have described in the comments to the photo of the Pleiades my adventures with Eq2 recovered ... :)

Saluyou!

Alexander

I do not agree with this statement of yours. I have tried many lenses, but no one can even come close to the performance of a good APO (I have a pentax 75).
The refractor telescopes have a few lenses (better, less chance of internal reflections and greater amount of light that passes) and are optimized for shooting at infinity.
Just look at the stellar diameters that return on photo to realize this.

I would love to meet friends of astrophotographers Juza Photo and why not also take part in a Star Party with them, this is my desire expressed several times, but so far not realized ... I would say the next edition to Saint Barthelemy? It would be exciting :-)

no, even more so. For the same price you'll always have a telescope of higher quality than the lens. If 1000 euro you can take a good apochromatic (about 400/500 mm fcoale), with the same digit can not do it to get you a camera lens that can compete with the telescope.

@ Sway and Clare
thank you for this exchange of information, my impressions are not due to tests made personally and so I'm glad that someone who has more experience to share this information. Personally, I spotted zooming Sigma APO 120-400mm (http://www.juzaphoto.com/recensione.php?l=it&t=sigma_120-400os) as a possible super-telephoto to devote even all'astrofotografia and it seemed to me that for 4 - € 500 could be a viable alternative to a fixed focal length APO refractor telescope.

@ Beppe Reda
in the event you would organize one star party I gladly make a trip out of town, especially if there was a chance to meet other friends and fans of astrophotography or photography in general

Greetings to all

Alexander

If you plan to use it for other things and as a handyman could go, if you have to dedicate only to 'astrophotography repeat what has already been said, a better apo refractor, perhaps with field flattener. A zoom so big that it costs "only" 750 euro will never be excellent view, with that figure an excellent little apo you take it, flattener included.

Hello Fabrizios53,
in fact I think the biggest challenge was due to the hype, it is a virtually ungovernable EQ2 that I had to discard most of the photos as they move and reduce installation times. The 75-300 lens is pretty good as ED glass almost zero chromatic aberrations and for many sky objects are not required focal length, the only problem is the lack of openness that has led me to having to manually align 160 photos to get a decent signal. In practice, an experience not to be repeated :)

Hello Luckygm,
if you're taking notes, my advice is to start with a good frame. Then if you want to "take notes" seriously in the forum there are people far more experienced than me as Astrokiara, Cobarcore, Astrotrezzi, S. Palmieri and many others (I do not want ones that I have mentioned, I have listed the first names that sovvenivano at this time), visiting their galleries you'll see!

Greetings and thanks for the pass!
