Abbiamo fatto due escursioni meravigliose per fotografare i gorilla in Rwanda, ricchi di spunti anche sorprendenti ma l' incontro più atteso ed emozionante, seppur fugace, è stato quello con Poppy. Poppy è una femmina che nel 2008 aveva 39 anni ed è l' ultimo gorilla cresciuto a stretto contatto con Diane Fossey.... Su di lei si stavano concentrando i ricercatori perché è l' esempio documentato della longevità dei gorilla e perché in quel momento in cui l'ho fotografata io ero in cinta e nessuno si aspettava in una gravidanza a quell' età... Ora non so ne se ci sia ancora ne come stia ma mi piace pensarla ancora in mezzo alla foresta intenta a cercare i germogli di bambù di cui, in questa stagione, i gorilla vanno pazzi.....
