, ISO 100, tripod. Specie: Papilio machaon

The beauty of these larvae is that they have very variable colors: a feeling I would say that whites are too bright, but look happy other opinions ...

to detail I think you were right to try to close pdc because with these sausages is never enough and it also depends on where focheggi, then the dew does not help to make sense of sharpness especially on these subjects ...

for the composition to skin ruoterei say that the counter-clockwise by 90 ° (not not make it go down, but because it seems strange to see a stem so strong to go down ... but these are my obsessions - ))

Ul classic resumed discreatamente well. I also like the composition in this descent ... I also like the light background and the effect of the drops well focused. Point ... perhaps we needed to gain a little more depth of field so as to encompass the body part closest to you that seems to be slightly outside the field of fire.

@ Maximum know you're right, I had not thought about the fact of the stem in the fall, I rotated in various positions, vertical, horizontal, rotating mirror and I thought about it, you see that the comments are used to something ? The next caterpillar did not I bring the blood to the head :-) regard to white if you appear to be burnt to say that I mishandled the PP as my usual field :-/ I used a silver panel on the belly because it was underexposed, being lit again maybe too ...
@ Mario I was at f18, I could also try to close more but then you lose the details, in my opinion, has already lost, thanks for your visit and comment
a warm greeting to both ;-)

According to my humble opinion there is too much contrast ... in whites is no loss of detail. The sharpness is not lacking, with a vertical and a pp managed better it would be a great shot.

The composition is not the best, one shot vertically in my opinion made it much better, the contrast is high, the whites are a little on the edge in various areas ...
With these subjects as well as a closed f, we must take great care of deciding where to focus when focus, so that the pdc has its effect on the whole subject ...

I agree on a vertical compo.
Just the observation of focus when focus in the right places for maximum PDC.
I dispicciono droplets and instead are in my element of added value.

Very beautiful shades of this swallowtail, sin MAF fall too far behind, also because of an imperfect parallelism maybe ..
