L'elaborazione SHO è stata "inventata" dalla Nasa con le foto del telescopio Hubble al punto tale che questo tipo di sviluppo astrofotografico viene chiamato "hubble palette". In pratica nel canale "R" si mettono le emissioni di zolfo, nel canale "G" quelle dell'idrogeno ionizzato (H-alpha) e nel "B" infine l'ossigeno terzo. Lo scopo di questa rappresentazione di colore stranissimi è quello di enfatizzare e meglio evidenziale le emissioni gassose della nebulosa stessa. Io ho integrato 3 ore di idrogeno, 4 ore di ossigeno e 3 ore di zolfo per questa immagine a cui ho aggiunto 2 ore di RGB per dare un colore naturale alle stelle.
