Sono nel Dovrefjell ed è un giovedi di gennaio. Siamo nel 2022 e sono trascorsi due anni da quando sognai di venirci. Volevo sentire, sui pochi centimetri di pelle scoperti, di cosa è capace la natura. Saliamo in due, con il buio, il bianco intorno non ha prospettiva. Ciaspoliamo, per km, io ed il mio compagno di traversata. Avvistiamo un gruppo di buoi su di un plateau. Sembrano vicini ma dopo 4 ore, nel binocolo, loro son sempre piccoli. Le condizioni meteo sono proibitive, tanti gradi sottozero con raffiche di 70 km/h. E' troppo tardi per raggiungerli e per poi riuscire a tornare alla base prima che il bianco diventi nero. Però alla sinistra, scorgiamo due massi giganti ad un'ora di strada. Si muovono. Non sono sassi. Inizio a pregare sperando che le raffiche diminuiscano ma evidentemente non recito preghiere in norvegese. Canto, ricordo di aver cantato, nella maschera con la bocca riparata dal passamontagna e protetta dal bavero del piumino. Non so perchè lo facessi, forse un modo per tenermi compagnia. Il suono della voce mi faceva sentire meno solo, visto che il mio compagno di viaggio, non avrebbe potuto sentirmi nemmeno a 50 cm. Arrivo, mi sdraio, la luce dietro fa il resto. Il percorso a ritroso è un lento scivolare, senza nememno il bisogno di intonare un motivetto.
